Lots of areas for management to improve. We have been sick for almost 2 weeks! Noticed birds eating out of the bread baskets yet staff turn away. Also, smoking is out of hand at this property. People do not follow rules, smoking everywhere including in their rooms and staff do not enforce following designated smoking spaces. It was our first and last time at Riu.

Very nice resort with lovely staff and gorgeous sea front. The rooms were very close to each other so you could hear everything so not so great for romantic holidays. Also, we would like restaurants with a La carte menu but there are buffet style. Overall amazing stay, with attentive staff and great atmosphere.

Entertainment was good, salted pools great, friendlyless of staffs at dinner room
Our room, front sea view was quite outdated and definitely needs some remodeling.
Food was fine, not a great deal of variety.

Not good because they I left my gold ring 💍 on top the tv table and when I went back to the room number 6201 nothing was there and I asked and they told me is not there

It was really beautiful and very neat too. The buffet service was really good but I wish we had the option of room service but it was okay. The staff were amazing!

We left Italy in the midst of a cold, snowy winter and at first we couldn't believe how warm and sweet was Boa Vista climate. In the first ten minutes after landing passengers got rid of scarves, coughs and dripping noses and you could literally see them instantly heal under Cape Verde's sun and sea breeze. Riu Touareg is nicely located in the middle of nowhere, along island's infinite southern beach. The road that takes you there is partially tarmac and partially cobbled, the landscape is dry and desolate and the hotel appears like an oasis, full of water, food and lovely places to stay. Although most people confine themselves to the pools, the beach is beautiful, with a finest sand and a breathtaking ocean view. The sea is emerald green, warm and mesmerizing but before bathing you must take into account the waves and your own swimming skills and physical shape. If you have none, you'd better stay away from the seashore. If you are a good swimmer, after a proper testing of waves strength (that could take you more than just one day) you can do as you please without caring too much for the red flag that permanently waves. Be ware of the sun because without a 20 or higher sunscreen protection you are surely going to get burns, even in January. Meals (and drinks) are day's main events (there isn't much to do...) and they are nicely arranged and easily accessible. I never heard anyone complaining and I surely didn't: choice was wide and quality more than adequate. Enjoy.

Only downside- slight plumbing smell in the bathroom, but understandable for a hot country. Staff were fabulous!

Location ideal for those in search of relax. Staff always helpful and very efficient. Rooms big and clean. Strengths: lovely beach and "original, professional, amazing" entertainment team. Weaknesses: the cuisine, not up to the other services (also the "theme restaurants" do not raise the overall level.
Overall we spent an amazing and relaxing week!

Spend 4 wonderfull days after hiking in Santo Antao. If your vacation is childless take "adult only "option to enjoy some extra bonuses: bar with better cocktails, +1 restaurant, extended beach territory, free WiFi.
All inclusive services (meals I mean) are OK.
