Staying at Pioneertown motel was a treat, a step back into the old west. Charming, friendly hosts - loved the decor and ambiance of the desert area. Fun place to stay!

We stayed two nights. Dinner at Pappy & Harriets. Very good ribs. The Pilot's burger at Copper Room is the best one yet.
Oops, the canteen ran out of cream.
Generally a good experience.

Off the beaten track accommodation but great fun for one night. One of the two pubs was closed (Mon and Tues) so our options were limited but the Red Saloon was fine for one night. Accommodation was a little quirky but all good.

Fantastic place to stay. Low-key yet they think of everything. Friendly and available for needs and/or questions.

Came out to see the Sam Grisman project at Pappy’s, king room with a mountain view. Everything is exactly right. Perfect original desert classic, clean and quality fabrics and decor. Non toxic soaps I could actually use. Super Awesome staff!

Best place to stay in the Joshua Tree area

Stayed here about 5 years ago and it was great, but now it just feels spent and tired. The bed was very uncomfortable, there was no follow through on our request for extra pillows, shower was just a trickle of water, and the heat wasn’t on when we arrived so the room was freezing. The heater made a loud metallic click every time it engaged and was very annoying through the night. Definitely will not return.

We enjoyed the unique rustic charm and location near Joshua Tree

Beautiful, Rustic, Quiet ,and dark. No real "amenities" , I think a hot tub would be a great addition. Awesome place to lie in a hammock and watch the night sky

What an amazing stay we had at the Pioneer Town Motel. We had a great welcome from the staff, the room was lovely and quaint with good beds. The town is idyllic and really fun with all the movie history and Wild West buildings... definitely worth a visit

Mixed feelings. Very nice, authentically courteous front desk. Stayed two nights to hike in Joshua Tree NP. Left at 7:30 Saturday and came back at 4 and no one had cleaned my room, no one made my bed. Shower and bathroom flushes next door sound like breaking waves at C Street in Ventura. Charming design, convenient too, but $350 a night for no one to make your bed? and 19th century plumbing noises? Terrible value.

Well-keps and cosy motel in the desert, next to Pioneertown’s “Main Street” and neighbors with iconic Pappy + Harriet’s. Simple standard, no frills, no pool, and no breakfast, but great staff and a haven for stargazing and a night’s getaway.

I had an amazing stay at the Pioneertown Motel! I don't usually write reviews but I had such a wonderful experience and absolutely loved the front desk staff. I am a younger woman with a job that requires me to travel solo frequently - at times I feel unsafe in more remote locations like JT but the warm interactions I had with the front desk made me feel so comfortable and at home during my stay. I checked in late at night and the man took the time to chat and go over all of the amenities. I had to leave early in the morning and the woman checking me out was so sweet and made sure I knew where to grab a cup of coffee. They were both so pleasant even though the hours were odd - it really made such difference and I greatly appreciate it!
The motel and room itself was lovely! I have gone to shows at Pappy and Harriet's many times and was a little worried about noise as it is located on the same property and I was on a work trip - sound did not travel and the motel feels very separate from all the action. The decor was so well done and the room smelled great. They do such a great job curating the art, decor and nice bath products. All of the details felt really elevated and tied in to the desert environment. I have slept in a lot of hotel beds and this was one of the most comfortable, I slept like a baby after a long day of work!
I will definitely be back for work trips and for vacation! <3

Great spot, especially if you attending a show at Pappy & Harriet’s. Rustic but chic and a super comfy bed.

Great old style motel full of history set in the 1880's themed town. Rooms were old but this was expected but also clean and had all the facilities needed. Good "common" room with tea and coffee, ice and cold water. Great staff.

The staff at this property is the #1 thing that makes this a fun destination! So friendly; so helpful! We came for a birthday celebration. We opted to go to the restaurant, Pappy and Harriet’s for a steak dinner instead of going to the “fancy” steakhouse in Palm Springs. We booked a room here for the night and I’m so glad we did. It was a lovely room and very relaxing evening with cocktails after a great meal. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate in the morning was a nice touch. Again, the staff here is amazing!

What an amazing little town and the Motel is like a little slice of history! I was initially surprised there was no TV but it adds to the entire experience of PioneerTown! You’re expected to relax and watch the stars! The only downside for me was the continuous flickering of the lights every 6.5 seconds but easily overlooked by going outside or closing ones eyes to sleep!

This place was on my husbands bucket list so I took him for his birthday. Upon check it was a pleasant experience. The staff was extremely nice. The room is a no frill room. Its a place you can go to unwind and get back to nature. No tv's to distract you. They offer on the grounds horseshoes, chairs to relax in and even hammocks. The room was comfortable with a small frig and ac unit. The shower was great with good water pressure. There was a club room that offered coffee in the morning along with water and tea. No food. You can also go in there and play cards, scrabble and/or backgammon. My husbands hero is Roy Rogers so we actually got to stay in his room. They have others like John Wayne, Gene Audrey, Hopalong Cassidy just to name a few. The little town where there are small shops are within walking distance as well as a saloon and a few others. The room is a bit pricey, but if that doesn't matter and you want the old time feel then I highly recommend it.

Charming & very comfortable stay - night sky star gazing was amazing and the motel thoughtfully provided some great personal camp chairs in our room. Very peaceful & quiet place yet just a few minutes walk from the quaint old western town.

Everything was great! Room was clean and it was very quiet at night. Beds are comfortable, I appreciate the different pillows both firm and soft and little touches like a bedside desert themed novel. For the future, I'd love a little continental breakfast (the coffee was great) and maybe a few more rugs because the concrete floor is cold!
