This is an older hotel in downtown Orofino. The rooms are adequate. The beds are comfortable and the sheets are nice. It is clean, but the most outstanding part is the attitude and the tentativeness of all the staff that I interacted with while staying there. They are kind polite, and happy to be there which is an unusual trait to find in today’s service industry. Whoever setting the tone at the Hegelson Place hotel is doing it right congratulations.

The bed was super comfy and the room was great overall! Very clean and spacious. The only complaint is that the radiators click constantly but I was able to mostly drown the noise out with a sound machine (as well as most of the traffic from the busy road). I enjoyed my stay overall.

Very interesting older building with older elevator. Huge room with kitchen and full bathroom; great shower. Breakfast was okay. Would stay again.

Historic hotel in the heart of this little town. Clean and comfortable two bedroom apartment but very much in need of an upgrade. Friendly and helpful staff

We were late and went to the Best Western and picked up our keys to our room and the bill. It was a great historic hotel.

Lots of space in the room. The beds are super comfortable. Used oven for supper and ate their hot breakfast in the morning. I'll definitely come back again

This is our 4th time staying at Helgesen's, we love it's location in downtown Orofino. The rooms are always clean, kitchens are stocked well but could use paper towels and wine glasses. Staff have been very nice and helpful each one of our stays!!

We loved this property. Suite with small kitchen and 2 separate sleeping areas. We had queen bed in living area and 1queen bed in separate bedroom. Beds were very comfortable and property very clean. We caught fish and grilled them on gas grill on shaded deck area. Staff was super nice and helpful. Rate was very reasonable. The only drawback was 1 small elevator but I will say we had no problems with wait time to use it. Most quests used the stairs.

Courteous checkin service. Nice funky building with fun elevator. Clean rooms, real glass cups (not plastic), clean quality towels and nice shower facility.

Very nice accommodations, central to downtown Orofino. Very easy to walk all around, to the river, bars and restaurants and parks.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. My suite was clean and spacious. The gated elevator took some effort, so I used it only at times when I had suitcases. The kitchenette had two apiece of utensils and dishes--not really set up for much cooking.

When you first walk in it’s a little questionable… but then you’re greeted with lovely staff who are very informative and sweet! When you walk into your room it’s like a breath of fresh air! Very wonderful place. I will definitely come back here. (: my husband and I wish we could have stayed longer.

This place was a good clean place. Parking was just ok. Rooms had more then expected which was convenient. What I didn’t care for is depending on others to Shut the elevator gate so the elevator would work. I wasn’t able to use the stairs.

Economically priced, double room kitchen suite, w-eggs and sausage breakfast in a historic brick building. Pleasant staff, funky old elevator, shaded outdoor lounging, walkable to park and downtown businesses. Great value!

It is an older hotel with a lot of character, including an old elevator with a pull gate. Our room was spacious and the beds were comfortable. All of the staff were friendly and offered suggestions on places to eat. We will definitely consider staying here again.
