This hotel was very neat. I was going to see a show at the Fox and the hotel is almost right across the street from the theatre so it was great for that purpose. There are some things I wish I had known prior to staying so I will share those here. Parking is in the back of the building for the hotel and there is a fee for parking. When I looked this up prior to booking it just stated "parking available". I think it was like $26. You enter the hotel in the back as well by hitting the ring doorbell and waiting for someone to let you inside. Then, you have to take the elevator to go to the 12th floor to check in. They did not tell me anything about what all the hotel offers or give me much information. We stayed in a nice yellow room that I choose and it was very clean. The yellow chair had stains on it and there were scuff marks on the wall which took away from how pretty it was, but it was very clean. All in all, I would stay again if going to the Fox, because of convenience and cleanliness, but I definitely think there needs to be more information on getting in the hotel and the staff needs to be more informative on what all is available. Also parking prices needs to be listed.

Hotel was nice overall, however the breakfast was overpriced for poor quality food.

This hotel was AWESOME!! Beautiful rooms, artwork, & scenery. Nicely located in a cool part of the city with plenty of arts, activities, food, & parks nearby.

Amazing, great service and wonderful hotel

- check in process is a nightmare. There were 15+ people waiting at check in with one person working. Overheard someone saying his room had been changed without his knowledge when he walked into his room and someone was in there!
- bathroom is mildew growing at the bottom of the door. This is most likely due to how stale and humid the rooms are (AC turns on briefly once the room increases 3°-4°, which is significant)
- the curtains may be blackout but the space at the top of the curtain rod is significant enough that you will have lots of light spilling in early AM (see image from 6:15 AM)

The art is all very interesting to look at. The rooms are very clean. I wish there was more lighting in the room, I had a hard time seeing.

A bit of an intuitive choice that surprised us. The security of this midtown location was confusing at first but immensely reassuring for both the checkin and parking. The rooms were comfortable and lovely, the rooftop bar a fun ending to the visit, and the area was immensely walkable despite the immediate first impressions. The artful vibe was great fun- an affordable option to the 21C we initially considered. we would definitely return

Always a good stay. Love the clean rooms and the rooftop bar. Only issue that i have have had this time and my last stay is that the tv/wifi signal isn't very good and looses signal frequently and for long periods of time. Other than that, everything is excellent and will definitely stay again.

We stay at this hotel every year for my daughter's birthday as we go to the Stl. Blues game. When we arrived this time, the hotel was very empty and only saw one staff. It took a while to get checked in even though we had reserved online.
When we got to the room, it was 89 degrees and very warm in the room. We turned to air on and left for the game but called and asked if we could get a fan or someone to look at the air. A young girl answered and said they didn't have any fans but she would check on the air. When we returned 5 hours later, the room was at 87 and still very hot. We tried to call the front desk but the phone in the room didn't work so we went to the front desk and told the guy that our air still wasn't working. He sent security up to look at it, they pushed a button to turn it off then back on and said if it wasn't better in 15 minutes to let them know. The temperature didn't change in the 15 minutes so we used our cell phone to call the hotel and finally got connected to the front desk and let them know the air still wasn't working. They asked if we wanted to move to another room. We said that would be best if the air wasn't able to work. After waiting almost 45 minutes, someone came and knocked on our door and handed us a room key to the room 2 doors down. We packed up and moved rooms. That room was much cooler. It was almost 1am when we were finally able to be settled in because the room was so hot and staff were not able to assist in a timely manner.

We absolutely love staying here when we visit The Fabulous Fox Theater. It is conveniently located across the street and is a comfortably walk to and from. The eclectic, funky rooms are always fun. This is not a new hotel, but they have done an admirable job in renovating the rooms into an enjoyable experience.

We stayed at Angard Arts on the night before a college tour. When we arrived and parked temporarily in the circle, we pressed the doorbell for entrance. (There is no one working the door and no staff on ground level). We rang twice without answer. We then called the listed number. We spoke to a delight operator stationed in Kentucky, who let us know the door was unlocked. We took the elevator to the 12th floor where reception was located. It was EMPTY. There were no people— staff or guests— anywhere. It became crazily eerie— like something out of a movie! We kept walking around the lobby, talking on the phone to the reservation operator in Kentucky who was laughing along with us that there was no one to be found. Suddenly a staff member appeared, only because another guest needed to be reassigned to another room, and the staff member was kind of put-off that we were there. She eventually assigned us a key. This was a Sunday night— there were fewer than 8 cars in the parking lot, including ours. There seemed to be no one else on our floor.
The room was a little small, but fine in size. After reading several reviews about the bedding, we didn’t get under the sheets and used our own blankets.
Guests can only control the room temperature for a short while— there is a light on the thermostat that says “occupied”. We were able to turn the heat down when we arrived. Sometime during the night, that light went off, and we no longer had control. It was a sauna until we left!

The room was really nice and clean and the young lady by the name of Kat was extremely extremely sweet! The issue I have is that I called customer service to find out what time was check out and a guy named Mat I believed was his name said check out was at 11, so we started preparing to leave because it was 10am and that meant we wasn’t able to use out breakfast vouchers or anything. The housekeeper stopped by and told us check out wasn’t until 12pm so we were in shock. I went down stairs to talk to the receptionist and she said we could stay and extra 30mins and that the customer service center has only been open for a few months so they probably were confused. We were already packed up so we just left! Kind of a big inconvenience

For the price, it was such a great experience and not a run of the mill corporate hotel. And yet it had all the comfort of a hotel costing much more.

This hotel was very convenient for my husband and I since it is by the St Louis Veteran's Hospital. The decor inside the hotel is very unique, very artsy. Everything was very clean. I liked that they had a separate elevator that could only be used with a room key. Only people with rented rooms could access those floors. Bed was comfortable. We had a king bed room. Besides the bed, there was only a single cheap plastic chair to sit on. It worked fine for us since we didn't spend much time in the room. Overall, the room is modern and updated. It would be nice if there was a floating shelf on both sides of bed. Also needs a light by coffee machine area. We didn't use it so no problem for us. Shower is nice but can be slippery. My husband fell hard. There are no grab bars in the shower. I suggested to the hotel that they should add one and was told to ask for an ADA room next time. Another suggestion would be to have a guest handout upon checking in with some hotel information and other helpful things like where to buy meals. I would stay at the hotel again due to comfortable bed and overall cleanliness.

Only thing I could complain about is the water pressure in our room wasn’t the best

Very clean and friendly, helpful service. Would be nice if they had vending machines, needed a drink when we got in late. A snack too!! But definitely a comfortable stay and beautiful Hotel

About the worst hotel I have stayed in for some time. I was accosted by a manic street person in the paid parking lot (without harm) and when I told the management, they brushed it off. There were people sitting in their cars in that lot, many people. And the hotel seemed to have the gate open for cars to come and go freely, even though I paid money to use the lot. The 'lobby' is on the 12th floor and there is one person sitting behind a desk. I waited for a very long time just to get my turn to check in. What was once presumably the lobby on the first floor is rented out to other random businesses. The first floor restaurant was just gross. My room had truly awful art and they had basically taken old furniture and painted it an ugly bright blue. The carpets were old and in the hallway smelly. When I went to the 'art bar' on the top floor, 30 minutes before it was supposed to close, there was an industrial garbage can in the middle of the bar area. The place was empty. I asked if they were still open and one of the employees said they were, but was so utterly unwelcoming as I stood by the giant garbage can, I just let. This is the least boutique, least arts hotel I have ever been at. A complete and utter deception top to bottom.

Always a pleasure! Funky vibe, cool art, comfortable, restaurant and bar open late which is great. We also bring our dogs. Def recommend.

Some positives; the check in procedure was easy, front desk staff were very helpful, and the room was unique and quite large (we had the corner suite). Some negatives; we found dirty socks on the floor in the suite which means the room was not thoroughly cleaned. There was no ice machine in the room labeled ice machine, there was only a microwave. Finally, the morning of check out there was no hot water...at all. We were unable to shower or really even wash up comfortably. The water was ice cold. While the hotel concept was very unique and different it's not worth it if basic amenities are not available or basic cleanliness standards not followed. Overall it was not worth the price and there are far too many competitors in the area that offer better experiences.
