Bad smell in the bathroom which I told the owner about. Poor response, I will never stay here again- sorry but I was trying to help them by explaining. Just disregarded. Apparently the hubby is an expert in all things microbiological. I’d left the fan on for hours and the smell did not go. Had a sore throat the next day.

Very welcoming and homey with a beautiful view of the sea. Staff was very helpful when we needed a change and was able to accommodate us longer. The full Scottish breakfast in the dining room was delicious . The perfect peaceful lovely stay !

Dissappinted. Chose this place from the reviews, which seem to overexagerate significantly. There has been a recent change of ownership ....perhaps reviews have assisted.???? Actually in a village called Spittal, not Berwick. No local facilities or amenities. Local publican kindly allowed us to order a take away and have it delivered to eat in his pub. Proprietors live off site, up to guests to lock up front and back doors. Feels like a bedsit not a b and b. Host was cheerful and pleasant but rushed away after we arrived. Breakfast adequate and what would usually be provided. Some unusual reviews on reflection.

right on the seafront. very friendly and helpful staff. Our bedroom had a lovely sea view and overlooked the promenade. the owners have only been here for a few months and are intending to make a number of improvements, eg more en suite bathrooms. the breakfast was generous, prompt and well cooked.

Super clean and comfortable traditional bed and breakfast, amazing views from room. A stones throw away from a spectacular beach. Great value for money. Warm welcome and friendly staff.

We had a very pleasant stay at the Roxburgh, very nice,helpful staff and management : couldn't do enough make our stay enjoyable. Sea view over Spittal beach from our room was a delight. Breakfast was a full English with extras. This is a great place to stay to explore Northumberland, and Edinburgh :Lindisfarne, Bamburgh Castle etc. It was worth traveling the 680miles to visit and stay at the Roxburgh

Nothing was too much trouble. Very friendly host and a very tasty and filling breakfast. Nice, comfortable clean room. More than happy to stay again.

Wonderful location on the seafront, binoculars in your room for bird /boat/ or dolphins if your lucky. Very clean, good breakfast & staff amazing can’t do enough for you

Going to start by saying that the owners have just taken on a new adventure and good luck to them too. They where very friendly and gave lots of advice. Breakfast was spot on too. Rooms nice and clean bathroom clean not bad showers. The view was just right for us too, sea view and relaxing too it was. About 30 min walk into town but again on the coast and relaxing. Looking forward to going back and seeing what changes they have made.

Room was spacious with a lovely sea view. Bed was comfy and room well equiped. Breakfast was very nice with cereals, cooked breakfast, toast tea/ coffee and orange juice and fruit all on offer. Breakfast is between 8-9am. Situated right on Spittal beach which is a nice walk and not too far to walk into Berwick town ( about 25mins)

Myself and my family stayed at The Roxburgh for 4 nights. The room was large, clean and comfortable. The hosts were fantastic and friendly. The cooked breakfast was very nice and set us up for the day! I would not hesitate to recommend The Roxburgh to anyone visiting Northumberland.

Friendly Hosts, Really clean and comfortable bg bed. Breakfast good, LOTS of tea, coffee etc. For me the room was a bit old fashioned and could di with updating. furniture mismatched and fake plants are a no no from me. Would i stay here again ? in a heartbeat and the view of the sea from my window was just GREAT i want to move in and see that view every day 😀😀😀. Couldn't get friendlier people.

The Roxburgh was a great place to spend a few days. We had a friendly greeting, good size room with amenities and really good fresh breakfast each day. It’s a gem of a place and I’d recommend it to couples and families.

Although the decor is a little dated it is in good condition and the room we stayed in was clean and comfortable and contained everything we needed. We were made to feel welcome the minute we stepped through the door, the hosts are warm and friendly and do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. Breakfast is excellent, freshly cooked to order, good quality and good portions. Location is decent, 5 mins drive from Berwick for restaurants and shops. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

1 night stay, our room had a front line sea view, the weather when we arrived was stormy so the sea was rough but fantastic to watch, the next morning was sunny and calm also great to see. Room was a good size, big bed plenty of sanitiser etc, we had our own bathroom across the hall which was large and clean, shower was OK could do with an upgrade. Walked in Berwick which took about 35/40 minutes. Owners very friendly, breakfast very good.

Wouldn’t suggest charging £75 for this room. Over looking the car park. Room was clean but a bit dated. Only seen one host. Not very engaging and a little sour. Quite area for a trip.

Made to feel very welcome. Spotlessly clean. Good breakfast. Large room with a sea view. Only downside was the shared toilet but this is reflected in the price.
