Our room 208 had electrical issues. The lights/outlets kept going out.

Fine stay but you pay more for less value- no complete breakfast.

Beds where so comfortable
5.0
The room was thoughtfully laid out - one firm pillow, one soft pillow on each side of the bed; plenty of place to hang or store suitcases and clothing without large dressers; comfy bed; blackout shade was the best we'd ever seen - actually blacked out the light with easy control; roomy bathroom, great shower, plenty of lights near the bed and around the room.
Breakfast was plentiful and varied, with no waffle maker to generate a long line. Coffee available 24 hours a day.
The staff members were all kind and efficient.
We could hear some other guests, but most noise was muted by the great construction.
Plenty of parking; great carts to help transport our luggage to and from the car.
We hope to stay again.

Booked the room, it said one room left. Once we went to check in we were told they had over booked. The receptionists was able to accommodate us which I appreciated. The hotel looks new and was clean. The room was nice but we couldn't get the fan on the AC to work. Also there was a dog across the hall barking. The walls are thin, you hear the woman in high heels clomping around above you at 2am and the toilet flushing in the rooms next to you. Also we kept being woken by a weird knocking. We thought it was the door but it wasn't. So it wasn't the best night, it was ok.

Really liked all of the hooks on the walls…great way to hang up our clothes, backpacks, etc!! Also, there was a little bedside like table that was excellent to bring into the bathroom to create more space for our toiletries! These are two things I really wish more hotels would have!!

I loved this place for reasons I couldn’t tell from the pictures: it’s a new hotel and everything was so clean and thoughtfully designed. The floor is a vinyl (cleaner than carpet) with backing making it warm and soft underfoot. The lighting is bright and warm, switches can turn all the lights on in the area or you can switch individual ones on/off. Benches for your suitcases when you walk in, charging plugs, etc. it’s as if the designer actually stayed in the room and thought ahead about what guests would want. I’m done with musty old dimly lit rooms that cost more.

Only thing not great - the orange and cranberry juice is very watered down.

Nice hotel, fairly easy to get to. Clean, good condition. Only criticism is high “fees” not disclosed when booking, you only find out when you see the charge on your credit card statement. $75 fee on a $200 room. The fees do not include taxes, those are extra and expected.

It was a great value for the money. Extremely clean and the front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. Our room was all ready when we checked in and there was a note on the card holder welcoming us. I would definitely stay again!

Very convenient to downtown Madison. Nice restaurant options near by. The room was a little noisy with out carpet with the people above us walking around a lot.

Had a nice stay. Room was very quiet and comfortable. There is a bus stop very close by and I was able to get to downtown Madison as well as a nearby Walmart very easily. There is also a local e-bike rental (BCycles) right behind the hotel

besides the standard compliments, room was efficiently laid out with shelf/bench, extra table under the desk, and bench with open storage instead of a clunky dresser

Good value. Good location with a coffee shop across the lot.

It was a nice stay. I was skeptical on the coffee machine because my experience with that kind is that the coffee is awful, but it was good.

One of the cleanest hotels I’ve seen. I’d definitely stay there again when visiting

Clean, quiet, new, great TVs, nice shower and bathroom. Pretty roomy.
Breakfast small and continental like. No microwave in rooms. Fridge tiny.

Great clean modern hotel

Was not expecting such a nice place with how reasonably priced it was. It was INSANELY clean - easily the cleanest hotel I’ve stayed in in years. I know it’s newer, but hotels don’t take long to get nasty. Everything about this stay was flawless. Didn’t have the breakfast, because the room was so pitch black (which I love) with the shades drawn that I slept past breakfast time! Convenient to everywhere I wanted to be - Capitol, Farmer’s Market, UW concert venue, and Lake Monona. Don’t hesitate to book this place. Would definitely stay there again!

Super clean & quiet hotel! Would definitely stay here again. Close to Yahara River, nice green space to hang out in, a couple restaurants/taverns nearby & a cute little coffee shop all within a stones throw!

Wonderful experience at Avid. The 24 freshly ground brewed coffee was an amazing perk. We had a problem with the AC in our room and they moved us very quickly to a room on the same floor. We will definitely stay with them again.

The person that checked us in was wonderful (Bruce)! He gave my dog a treat and mentioned good places to walk my dog.

Everything really was good except we did not have a TV remote in room. Took a couple of try’s to get a remote that worked, but once we did everything was great. Coffee machines in morning made great coffee.

Great location in Summer. Couple of great walkable restaurants where you can sit and watch the boats go by on the small canal. Also walk to lake trails / parks and other smaller eateries.

The Avid has a modern look and feel. The staff was friendly and the offered breakfast while smile was fresh and hot.
A pleasant surprise for a quick stay.
2.0
Excellent customer service, easy check in, very clean, friendly staff, excellent selection of to-go breakfast items. Nearly every bit of my stay was first rate.
However, there is a significant downside - the standard king room I stayed in, while being very clean, was stark, carpetless and had absolutely no sound attenuation. The AC unit and even the refrigerator echoed all night long. A sound sleep would be impossible to even the slightest light sleeper.

Good location, close to all venues & downtown.
