This hotel is a historic building- an old hospital so it was fun to stay here and see all the cool details. However, it was pretty cold inside- partly due to it being an old building, but I’m also pretty sure that they didn’t turn the heat on. Breakfast is super basic. The room that we thought we booked was not what we got. But it worked for us. Staff was very friendly and informative about the history of the area.

This is truly an amazing place to stay. Very rich in history.
We stayed in room 7. It has an enclosed balcony with incredible views of Cripple Creek.
We look forward to staying here again!

Unique and fun place to stay. Saturday homemade soup in the bar and an excellent staff.

This hotel has that eclectic vibe. The caretaker lives on property and very friendly! We stayed in room 11 and did hear the voices from the friendly ghosts in our sleep!

This place was fantastic! The service was Excellent! The room was amazing! The bar was great! Even the other guests were fun to be around! The room was very clean and so cute. The area rug could be updated, but that’s no big deal. The room was cool, as it was very cold outside, and the thermostat for all rooms are controlled in one central location, but they provided a space heater, which worked great and made the room just right. We were very excited to try this place out, and we are so happy we did. Will most definitely stay here again! Pictures we’ve share are Room 16, on 3rd floor.

Liked the history of the place. Nice option instead of Casino

We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff were super friendly. The only negative thing I would say is the floor is real creaky at all hours of the night. I would recommend staying on the 3rd floor.

Very unique place.
But the hotel is very old and you should not expect a good service.

You could describe this hotel as "quaint," but I can't think of any other positive adjectives. It is old, outdated, and in a bit of disrepair. Breakfast is unspectacular at best. Floors everywhere creak loudly. No elevator. Significantly over-priced.

My first stay at St Nicholas. Beautiful building, very friendly people. Had a great stay and will be back.

I loved the history of the building and appreciated the tour the manager Bill gave us. The room was very comfortable, spacious and clean. I would stay here again.

We were seriously misled about this place. It is placed up a steep hill from the main part of town, which makes it extremely tough on seniors to walk anywhere, no small store nearby for a soft drink or more, no air conditioning, no elevators (we were stuck on the third floor!) and the "free?" breakfast is a joke!

We were on the third floor. Our floor creaked every time you walk around and felt really loud. Was not comfortable as didn’t want to disturbe others. Also the hot water didn’t work in the sink and was lukewarm in the shower.

Quaint and quirky. No elevator so if your older might take that into consideration but otherwise good. We were greeted by a deer the morning of our departure and the charming town is two blocks away.

Fantastic historical property in great condition. Proprietor is very knowledgeable about the building and its' history. We had a outstanding stay!

Creaky old place is full of character in the best of ways. Clean, safe, friendly and out of the way yet convenient to all the lures of Cripple Creek. Why would we consider staying at a casino hotel? We wouldn't and shall stay again here soon in this old hotel (more like a B&B actually with its own bar on premises). Stay here!

Brad was very helpful and friendly when we checked in. Shared a good recommendation for dinner. Quickly responded for my request for a hair dryer which ended up being unexpected. Loved the period flavor this hotel. Would definitely stay again.

We really enjoyed staying at the Hotel St Nicholas -- neat old building with an interesting history; fairly short walk to the casinos (though a steep hill). Well maintained and clean.

Always a great spot! Kinda want to keep this place a secret but that would be selfish

It seemed like a great idea to stay in this unique property until they proceeded to have karaoke until late hours directly under our room. We got zero sleep even after fighting with the drunk employee about turning the karaoke off. If you like to sleep in bars, go ahead. Otherwise, I’d avoid.

Perfect get away place that has great amenities. It's a little weird but very, very pleasant and it attracts interesting people. We've stayed here twice and had a great time hanging out looking at views, talking with complete strangers in the Boiler Room bar and interacting with people in the parlor between piano performances! Really nice and we'll come again.

Quaint place with cool bar and parlor too. For free breakfast a bit flimsy. No place to store clothes in our room. All good overall

A wonderful experience at a quirky place. We enjoyed our one night stay at this unusual hotel. We were met as we parked by the town donkeys! The proprietor welcomed us. We had a late lunch at one of the local restaurants. We later had champagne at the quaint little tavern on the hotel premises.

Unique, clean, quiet and good accommodations. As a musician, I enjoyed the live acoustic music in the parlor room. Hope I may be asked to play there someday!
