I’m in room 2c. The guest above me have been up all night screaming and playing music. There’s no one I can reach at this hotel and almost left to stay at another hotel but was tired after a 12 hour day at work. Mon- Wed was quiet, but the room is small and not clean. Last night, Thursday was the worst with screaming and music all night into the morning. No breaks. Who’s staying above 2c? Why does this hotel have no one we can contact to escalate? I thought about calling the police.
I want a refund

The room we originally were in was in a basement and above the kitchen so it was a constant slamming noise we were unaware of prior to booking the room it was located above the loud kitchen. They moved us but charged us an upgrade fee which I felt wasn’t fair since no where when booking the room mentioned basement room above kitchen. Online makes it seem like a very nice room when in reality it’s way smaller than the photos, constant noise and in a basement. The room they moved us too was better.

First time staying here, really nice & clean. Easy check in & out. Can’t wait to go back when it’s warmer weather to enjoy the rest of the property.

Everything was great! The only thing I have to say is the restaurant was okay. The menu just needs a little more work.

For an upscale resort, there was a lot left to be desired.
The worst thing was probably the extremely loud and shrill screeching noise the heater made every time it kicked on, which made it very difficult to sleep.
Second worse was the room size. Other reviewers are correct in saying it is very different from what is represented in the pictures. Very small, cramped, and inefficiently organized. There are no nightstands and no place to hang your clothes. They give you dishes but there’s no place to put them when they’re dirty, and no place to prep food, so why bother?
Like other reviewers stated, many listed amenities were not actually available, including the hot tubs, the fire pit, and the breakfast. Those amenities were among the reasons I had booked this stay in the first place.
Then there is the cleanliness. When we checked in there were crumbs left all around the dish area and dog hairs left on the couch.
However, like another reviewer, we had a TERRIBLE interaction with the owner/property manager. I won’t get into all the details here, because it would turn this review into a novella, but it was pretty outrageous.
I emailed him afterwards to give him the opportunity to resolve the issue, and he responded by…. threatening to sue me if I left them a bad review.
I think that tells you everything you need to know…

Quaint spot and so accessible to Asheville and eateries. So many floor plans to pick! Love the location!

We stayed here for a few days. We saw 1 staff member the entire trip. No one checked on our room, provided towels, cleaned our room or checked in on us. TV wasn’t working in our master room and sink in bathroom was clogged. To use amenities you had to schedule appointments. Room wasn’t clean. Won’t stay here again.

There is no one there to check you in, it's all digital and contactless. Which is not a big deal, but a little impersonable, if that is what you prefer. We only saw the bartender while we were there- who didn't even speak to us when we walked by. I can say that I called the number twice and both times the call was answered right away.
We were booked in a studio, and when we got into the studio it was extremely small. There was enough room for a bed, a small table, the kitchenette area, and a couch. The couch was not very comfortable- I believe it is one of those pull-out futons. There really wasn't a great place to place our bags. The bathroom is nothing like the images I saw online. Again, my fault. However, on Expedia's end- I did state that I would be travelling with 3. It was my husband, myself, and our daughter. So, I called the office and asked if there were any other rooms that are larger that we could upgrade to, and she called me back and said that there was nothing available because they were all booked for the weekend.
Our room had a ring camera on the outside of the door. We didn't like this due to privacy issues. This meant we couldn't even stand outside without our conversation being heard and felt like if we are out here for privacy, the last thing we should be concerned about is being watched on the ring doorbell camera. We also had people just walking right in front of our room.

The service was excellent/ they even called when they saw me go by my cabin. There’s area to hike and it just felt nice. I’ll be recommending to visiting family and friends!

Arrived & there was no clear checkin area & I walked in to the bar & felt like I should not be there. The owner checked me in & it all felt a little strange. Drove the car around to the room & went in to the room & it was not serviced with used bedsheets on it. So I walked back up the 5 mins to the bar & the owner said he had tried to call me to come back up as he realised the room was not serviced. Well I thought that it might have been nice if he came down to me, but he decided not too. The room was pleasant with a nice view & plenty of amenities but no wardrobe space at all or hangers just a few hooks. Just found the whole experience strange

Old mansion with sufficient tradition but failed to convey any feeling of comfort or sophistication. We checked out after one day of a four day reservation. Too much reliance on SMS for check-in with poor messaging. Lacked hot water in shower. Our room was in main building but felt as if we were all alone. Well used and dated, cheap furniture.
Lipstick on a pig? Fresh paint and new tile can’t camouflage a property past its prime. If it ever had one.
Received SMS about restaurant reopening but appeared abandoned with dirty windows and floors. Even our room TV continuously buffered.
This property is tired and without any vision.

Heat was not working in the guest rooms. We left and went to another hotel. It really is a shame, because Skylaranna is a lovely place with an excellent restaurant.
They just need to install a modern furnace.

Skylaranna is a fantastic resort style hotel. Our cabin was so clean and finished nicely. All of the linens were top notch and luxurious.
We keep telling people how great it is and plan to return.

Location is convinient and the property has a lot of potential, but there are a lot of important details to improve. There is too much noise in the main house even after 10pm. There are guest rooms in the house that shouldn’t be really guest rooms given the exposure to noise and uncleanliness, like trash bags on the floor. Contact less check in is awkward given that if you need to text someone for help and you see people in the property without proper identification you don’t know if they are part of staff or not. We found out who are because they were observing us and then calling and making some wrong assumptions from their observations without asking questions first. Dinner was pretty good, but again, some details missing, even a obvious ones like stacking a bunch of chairs on the front door as a way to indicate to use the other door. Hot tub was good, but it lacked instructions how to use the controls. Fire pit was the best part of it. Trails were pretty good, but lacked some signs and warnings about snakes, for example.

We had a great time in a beautiful location. The room was great and the bed very comfortable. We were a bit surprised that we weren't given a heads-up about the wedding celebration happening there on the Saturday night of our stay. The dance floor was a few feet away from the bedroom where our 3-year old daughter tried to sleep. Finally, we couldn't get proper hot water. It was lukewarm.

The hotel itself was ok but the room they put us in was in the basement with a door to an adjourning room with no sound barrier and next to the boiler room and the laundry room and below the kitchen. It was so noisy that we couldn't sleep. Added to all of that there was a child in the adjourning room that kept talking up until 10 pm and was coughing for most of the night and we could hear everything. We called the number listed on the email because there is no reception area or front desk to go to. We requested to be moved to a different room we were told that the hotel was sold out and to allow the kitchen workers to complete their work and the noise would stop. Light was passing through the door and windows and just when we started to get some sleep it was time for breakfast and the loud stomping noise started again. We wish we could we have our money back and one be put in these two rooms in the basement anymore. We were there for a wedding and wanted a nice place to sleep after a long trip. We were very disappointed. The only positive thing about our stay was the food at the restaurant.

My partner and I stayed in the standard king bed studio, mountain view, which is the basement or first floor to part of the cabins. It was a lovely, rustic stay, but the ceiling/walls felt thin. (Could easily hear the people sharing the cabin with us, going up and down stairs, etc.) Overall though, it was a very pleasant stay. Nice pool/hot tub area, grounds, and the manager was easy to communicate with. The highway was very close and Asheville or Hendersonville was an easy drive.

Nice place, will be greater. I hesitate to review this since they are obviously new and learning. Our room was clean, new and had a great view. The downside...no place for luggage. Only a small place to hang clothes (no closet) and the TV didn't work. The fridge in the room had a very loud compressor which, unfortunately, woke us up about every half hour when it went on for 15-20 seconds. Unfortunately, no phone to call someone either. Check in in via email, but the friendly staff will show you to your room which can be challenging. This facility is new so they need to get some bugs worked out, and it's a bit overpriced for what you currently get...but it's nice, peaceful, restful and the restaurant serves a great dinner. And the pool is nice! It's four stars for me until they

This is truly a hidden gem. We stayed in one of the cabins. Everything is so nice and clean. The staff is extremely professional. The concierge was so accommodating and met our every need. The food on location was some of the best we have ever had. The spa provided exceptional service. Everything was professional with five star attention. We will be back and we will recommend the others give it a try.

We were disappointed with our stay. 1. this cabin is in the path of nearby airport which means there were planes flying over our head in 5-10 min intervals all day which was very annoying. 2. we had a dog and were not made aware of at the time of reservation that there is an additional fees being charged until later. 3. is no breakfast available despite the fact that on hotels.com it stated that there would be one. 4. upon checking there was ladder in the middle of the room as someone was trying to change the LED lights but did not get to finish and left everything as is. We had to move it just not to trip over it. tried something new but the next time will be staying in a traditional hotel.

Check in was not easy, noone was at front of hotel to greet u and check u in. It was very loud from people walking above us. I did not like the noise. Cabin was nice but the noise level was terrible.

Five stars all around. Friendly staff. Wonderful accommodations. Clean. Comfortable. Couldn't ask for a better stay. Loved the pool and hot tub.

Cabins were clean and new but basic. Couple things would make this place way better - tv upstairs in bedroom of cabins (#1 - really need this) hooks in bathroom, soap dish in bathroom. Pool is nice. Under airport path so you will hear planes landing. Place was ok. We had biggest cabin. Was super basic so not worth the money but limited options in this area.

My stay at Skylaranna Hotel & Resort was a giant disappointment; one of the worst hotel experiences I can recall. It all began with "contact free check in/out. That's another term for no reception by a live person. There was no one to direct me to my room (in the basement with the laundry and boiler rooms). Upon walking into the room when I located it, the air was 65 degrees and rather cold.
The room had no egress in case of an emergency (the windows were too high to access that the only exit door was locked. One would have to use the open staircase. The bathroom had no outlets; the toilet paper dispenser was more than an arms length from the toilet; there was no counter and no place to put one's toiletries; there were no robe hooks to hang a toiletries bag, or clothing; there were no handrails in or around the step-in tub; there were three coffee mugs, but no water glasses. Since the the thermostat was frozen and couldn't be changed, I looked upstairs and around the main level for assistance. But remember, contactless check-in means no one around to help. I found a phone number to call if assistance was needed, and at 9:00pm I called it only to get VM for their restaurant which said no one was available to take the call. I left a message asking for an extra blanket because the room was so cold, but no one turned my call. More than 20 hrs have passed and I've yet to hear from anyone at the hotel. I was never asked how my stay was.

Had to wait for room to be cleaned. Wasn’t ready at advertised time
Caesar Salad x2 with extra dressing. Wife’s came with extra and on the lettuce. Mine came with extra and none on the lettuce. Waited 10 minutes for the dressing
Waited 10 minutes for a straw. Straws not even tall enough to reach top of glass. Why?
All around feel way overplayed and a bad experience. Already left a review on another email. No response. Hope to hear from someone. Thx

The cottage was very cute and seemed like it was recently built. We stayed in 3C and it was fine for me and my daughter to get to, but because there are several stairs to get to this location, my mother had a difficult time (she has bad knees). Overall, we really liked this property.

This is a beautiful place to stay, its absolutely beautiful! The cabins are super clean, the beds are amazing! When we walked it we were taken away by how nice and clean it was. Very modern with a cool "rain" shower. Just really cool pool, waterfall, the cabins light up with neon lights outside on the roof front overhange. We loved the whole area and look of the cabins.
Now the downside, id give it a B-. Why? Well, one issue was theres an airport near so around 8x throughout the night we heard them fly over, large commercial planes. Next, the fridge in our cabin kept clicking and buzzing about every two hours. We stayed on the bottom floor, unfortunately to get to it you have to walk around the back side and past other cabins on a deck. So thats a little weird because the other cabins had people in them and large sliding glass doors open and so you can see in, including ours. So privacy is a little bit off. The wifi kept coming on and off connection wise. And, if we ever stayed again we'd want to stay on the top level, because you can hear everything above you, so not sound proof at all. They have vinyl flooring so when people walk you hear it all. Someone above us turned on the TV at 5 in the morning full blast so we heard all of it.

What an awesome place! Wish we could have stayed longer. We stopped just for a little shut eye after a long day of driving. The cabin we stayed in was so neat and clean and the beds were amazing. It was even better in the morning when we were able to see the views! Check in was a breeze with contactless entry, especially when you get in at 1am! Will definitely stay again.
