The water is shallow clear and calm with white quartz-sand tide-pools perfect for sleeping drinking or playing. You can swim or “often” wade to naturally occurring white sand cays popular with dolphin's sand-dollars and “occasionally” giant-conch. This is the spot on Siesta where you can go from the water to lunch or dinner and back to the sand without putting on your shirt and shoes. History – There's no public parking in this area so, even though the beach is gorgeous, it's a little more private. When I was a kid growing up on Siesta Key, this beach access was called “Palm Island” and named after the island of the same name right at the end of the street.
