Property was well maintained, private, quiet, and in beautiful location surrounded by woods! Owner was very responsive to text messages in answering questions. Cottage was very homey with gas logs and everything needed was provided. We would definitely recommend this property! If we return to Maine in the future, we would rent it again.

The cabin was appointed extremely well, furnished comfortably, located conveniently to all interesting sites of the Acadia area. Owners provided all the necessary and thoughtful details- Wi-Fi password, coffee, smart tv, toiletries, kitchen supplies, outside seating. Excellent VRBO rental.

This was a beautiful place to stay! Very clean and well maintained. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the supplies you need. The only improvement I can think of would be a new matress.

We enjoyed our stay very much.

we absolutely loved this place! The gift basket and available toiletries were a great added touch! we ended up needing the umbrella that was there so having that available was good! everything was so clean and exactly as pictured in the listing! Could've used one more fan since there was no AC but we were mostly comfortable.
Would've rathered to not have neighbors attached but we just kept the blinds closed and had no issues.
overall fantastic place to stay and have already forwarded the listing to others :)

The cottage was wonderful, comfortably, and quiet. Very clean and the owners were very helpful. The process was super easy and we will definitely be staying here again. Had everything we needed.

The place is amazing. This tops anything I've stayed at in the past in the area. The host pointed out excellent places to eat and visit. Inside this hidden jewel is a spacious one bedroom house is a large queen bedroom and bathroom. Comfy living room with a fireplace. Fully furnished and stocked kitchen. The Wifi is fast and never went down. I just wished I had booked a longer stay. Will return for the fall foliage.

I stayed alone on vacation 6 nights at this quiet, relaxing hidden gem near Blue Hill, Maine. Well furnished and decorated. All the amenities for comfort. Good location. Near scenic waterways including the ocean, with quaint shops and good restaurants. Not too far from Acadia National Park on Mount Desert Island. The landlord was friendly, helpful and accessible. He made good recommendations for day trips including places to see, hike, shop and eat.
I have stayed in Maine several times and this was by far the most enjoyable and the best location for comfort, quiet and location. I hope to return to the Hidden Gem for future trips!

We enjoyed our stay and we were very comfortable in the cottage. It is attached to a residence, so it’s not a “stand alone” property. However, we never had any issues with it. We spent the week in Acadia National Park and the Bar Harbor area, which was about 1 hr 15 min away. It’s a pretty drive thru some quaint villages, tho!
The cottage was very clean and well-equipped with pretty much everything we needed. Bed was comfortable and bathroom spacious. Kitchen has all the basics, however the refrigerator/freezer is small, so be aware if you plan on needing space for a lot of food.
Overall a great experience! Loved all the critters we had visit- red squirrels, chipmunks, and a pair of pileated woodpeckers!

My husband and I traveled from the warm south to the cool north to see family. Upon arrival, we fell in love with the Gem. The bed was super comfy, the blinds (which are so nice compared to standard ones,) in the rooms worked really well, blocking out all light and giving us so much privacy!
The owner and his family were super kind, giving us different places to eat and explore. The WiFi worked great, The TV was great, the house just smelled like home! The shower was much bigger than I had thought. You will definitely be comfortable if you stay here!!
We will definitely be booking again, when we go back!!
Side note: there’s a restaurant the owner recommended in town called Marlinini’s, which has really good food!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hidden Gem. This is a spacious one-bedroom cottage (attached to a larger home), with lots of homey touches. We loved the fireplace, which gave out plenty of heat, to combat the November cold. The kitchen was adequately stocked. We particularly enjoyed the large bathroom with two sinks. This property is very quiet and private. One of the better vacation rentals we've had. The only hiccup was loss of the internet the night before we checked out. It occasionally happens in rural Maine.

A perfect late fall getaway - close to favorite hikes, galleries and great food. We'll be back again!

My family and I could not have asked for a more beautiful location. The description of the “hidden gem cottage” does not do it justice. We have traveled all over Maine and this is the most beautiful place we have ever stayed. The cottage was spotless and equipped with everything we could possibly need. The host was extremely welcoming and knowledge regarding the area. We plan to stay there again when we return to Maine next year!

We very much enjoyed our stay here at this cozy cottage. A few things to note, it is part of a larger residence, and also some of the blinds don’t reach the bottom of the windows so lacks privacy.

Wow, what an amazing stay! Had I known how perfect this lovely & peaceful gem of a cottage would be, I would definitely have booked more nights! Mr. Lane must be a super host. He was very attentive yet unintrusive. He answered all of my questions, and gave me tips for dining options and day trips. How wonderful to be just a short drive to Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park, the Blue Hill Peninsula, fishing villages, and some of the most beautiful Maine scenery imaginable. I enjoyed dinner at Blue Hill's Blaze Brewing, stopped at family-owned C-Ray Lobster on the way to Bar Harbor for a delicious lunch (tastiest lobster I've ever had!), and spent as much time as I could enjoying the coastal areas. But the best part was coming home to my cottage! What a relaxing and beautiful space. It was richly furnished, complete with the comfiest Queen bed in the private bedroom with full bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, cozy lounging area with a Smart TV, and such a scenic outdoor setting. It was everything I could have hoped for, and then some. I will definitely be returning to this special cottage for another visit... And next time I'll stay quite a bit longer!

The Hidden Gem Cottage was quiet and quaint. We assumed there was AC in the cottage, but found out after we were already there that there was no AC. There was a SMALL desk fan in the cottage and the nights were cool (65), but be prepared. If you want delicious Maine Lobster, and Maine excursions, be prepared to drive at least and hour. The drive is nice (scenic), but be aware.
