Good place

Roaches, mosquitos, flies, spider's, leaky hanging ceiling, intermittent functional wall outlets, Roaches in stove, smoke detectors missing throughout property, unidentified crawling bugs on floor and bed. Spoke with host in detail and she refused to assist. I asked about relocation, she explained if I wanted to pay her an addition $590.00 per day she would relocate me otherwise I would not be refunded any amount since she felt the property was fine as is and if wanted a refund, I should speak with VRBO. Spoke with VRBO a number of times pertaing to the matter. VRBO insisted that if the host would not remedy the concerns within 24 hours they would assist. In the end VRBO said they couldn't assist since host felt the property was fine as is. I sent plenty of pictures that showed bugs, spiders, mosquitos and spider webs. VRBO said they needed more pictures of more bugs. Lol I understand I am not the only vacationer that has left a negative review. When I saw the bad review I reached out to the host and she reasssured me she took care of the previous concerns.

To summarize without too many details we had to be placed in a hotel. I am sure once this house is given proper detailed updating it will be worth it. Please be clear you will Uber a lot unless you have a car or someone to pick you up from Yonkers.

Improvements that can be made to the VRBO property: - Newer mattresses for the beds. They are very old and have no support. Your body sinks into the middle. Body aches are imminent. Did not get a good nights rest most of the stay. -Some of the electric receptacles did not work. The bedroom that was converted from a garage space needs 3 prong outlets. The ones there currently do no have a ground. Cannot plug in the window AC or the power strip that was in the room. For one bedroom we had to ask for a extension cord so that we could plug in an outlet on the other side of the room to power the window AC. The electric receptacles near the window AC did not work. -Need doorknobs instead of deadlock bolts on 2 of the bedrooms. Not able to close the door from the outside without them opening by themselves. -Did encounter some roaches, not many. Overall the house was clean. What we liked about the property is that it is in a very safe, quiet, and clean neighborhood. Close to shopping and the Mount Vernon West Train Station. Nice yard space for dogs to do their business. Ruth our host was very nice and she did her best to be accommodating. Gave 4 stars for communication because it was hard to verbally communicate due to language barrier. We were able to text each other with no issues.

On arrival, found roaches in kitchen, and main bathroom. Bathroom very dirty with long hair in corners. Home needs updating urgently throughout. Paint, trim work, doors, bathrooms. Ruth's Daughter was supposed to come clean day we were out, but didn't get confirmation from Her, or could tell if she came. I have many photos to confirm conditions. On the good side, the Home was warm, dry, and in ok neighborhood. This could be a nice Vrbo rental IF major updates and cleaning were done. We are very disappointed in condition of the property and are requesting a refund of our rental. I will await your response before posting pictures and review on other sites, or contacting Discover and Attorney. Ken H.

Nice neighborhood,open concept.Hreat space for my entire family.Kitchen big and spacious. Beds are huge. Definitely will stay here again.

Our Family from Sweden stayed at Ruth’s place ( We are local here in NY), we booked it as an extension of our home since we were entertaining 30 overseas guest, so 9 stayed at Ruth’s house. They LOVED The house!! Really perfect for a big group, it was very big space and comfortable too. The location is perfect as well, quite neighborhood and near Cross County mall. We were also very appreciative that Ruth extended the check out to 12:30 seamlessly since they don’t need to go to the airport until that time. We really highly recommend her place!!!!
