The craftsmanship of this cabin is a work of art. Nestled on the mountainside, the cabin was built from reclaimed timbers. It is Non-Smoking, Pet-Free and located minutes from DeSoto State Park County Store and about 5 miles from downtown Mentone. Enjoy a dip in the hot tub after a day full of fun. (The hot tub is drained, cleaned and refilled with new water after each guest.). The kitchen and bathrooms have been beautifully remodeled while keeping the original beams and timbers in place. Enjoy cooking in a fully equipped kitchen with sleek new stainless steel appliances and marble countertops. Take your pick upstairs or downstairs - Begin your day in a custom walk-in shower with natural slate tile and river rock, a rain shower head, and frameless glass shower door surround. Cozy up next to a fire in the fire pit and admire the stars. Enjoy hiking, sightseeing and exploring in nearby Historic Mentone, DeSoto State Park, DeSoto Falls, and Little River Canyon. Take in a round of golf at one of the local golf courses or go horseback riding through the trails in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The area has so much to offer. This beautiful cabin was a perfect place for me to go and get away for a week of reflection. It is located right next to Desoto State Park for some nice hiking if you enjoy that.
The cabin itself is really well put together and comfortable. I went in the winter and the had left a ridiculous number of fuzzy blankets to cuddle up with and I spent many an hour in front of the gas stove reading and relaxing.
They have a nice selection of pots and pans and utensils, so if you want to cook some meals you can.
It is really obvious that the cabin is well taken care of and the owners really want you to enjoy your stay.

A wonderful place to relax and enjoy the goodness of being in the country. Every aspect of this stay was exceptional, the cabin, the essentials, the hot tub, the bed, TVs, board games, kitchen, bathrooms (great job remodeling the showers), the host interaction about detailed directions, places to eat, checkout etc was awesome. Thank you for everything!

This cabin is absolutely perfect! Everything was tidy, clean and decorated beautifully! We enjoyed the fireplace, the hot tub, and the heaters in the bathrooms. Everything about this cabin made us feel at home.

This was a beautiful cabin. Had everything we needed and what was advertised. Owner was great at communicating. Will definitely rent again if we are going to be in that area again.

Everything was so clean, tidy, and homely. They left no stone unturned when putting necessities in there for daily use. You can pack your clothes and some laundry soap and go. :) we really appreciated the step by step directions provided the day of check in as cell signal was pretty spotty so gps was in and out. Thank you to the hosts. We will be back!

The cabin was simpliy gorgeous. EVERYTHING was clean and set up very nicely. It was my first cabin experience. And me and my companion will definitely rent this property again. Hopefully longer next time.

My husbands birthday is 1-1 and he wanted some place quiet so we could relax. The property was just as listed. Decorated beautifully and the kitchen had all the things we would need to make a meal. The hot tub is just big enough for the two of us and has curtains that can be pulled for privacy by the road. The road runs in front of and on the side of the house, so we saw a lot of cars but there wasn’t much noise at all and we slept well. It took us a day to figure out the thermostats, upstairs was 77 degrees when we got there but downstairs was significantly cooler. If you roast in the heat like I do, maybe ask about the temperature controls ahead of time.
We went into Fort Payne and ate at Little River Burgers and Brews, it was Fantastic! We would highly recommend. We were going to go back today for a new years/birthday lunch but they were closed.
All in all we wish we could’ve stayed longer and enjoyed drinking wine. Relaxing and playing games. The manager provided several! Checkers/chess, Yahtzee, clue, scrabble. It was a perfect couples getaway after a busy wedding year and it was much needed. Would highly recommend and hope to visit again some day!

This was our second stay at this amazing cabin. The owners have done as amazing job with the furnishings and updates on this home. It’s in perfect condition and it smells amazing. They haven’t missed a thing when it comes to providing all the amenities for comfortable stay. We love it here

The cabin was a great location to visit all that the area has to offer. It was a little closer to the road then I thought it might be, but it wasn't really an issue as traffic was minimal. I enjoyed sipping my coffee on the front porch, using the hot tub to relax after hiking, and the kitchen was great for preparing our meals. The host was very communicative and helpful if needed. Would recommend.

This place is the ideal spot for couples. Nice, quiet peaceful. It's just a beautiful place. We look forward to returning to this very spot in the future.

November 2-5, 2023
This is our 2nd year staying in this cabin for our anniversary getaway. We love it so much that we plan to make this an annual trip.
Last year, we came in December, very close to Christmas and it was so cold! This year we were able to make it a week before our actual anniversary (Nov. 14) and the weather has been absolutely perfect!
We are celebrating our 20th! We couldn’t have asked for a better time. The cabin was perfection, as always.

Absolutely wonderful. It is closer to the road and other cabins than I initially thought. Staying there was exactly what we needed and I love how you're less than five minutes from DeSoto national park.

My husband and I have stayed at many VRBO’s, all which were nice, but none like this. Details, details, details. The decor was perfect, the sofa and other seating was very comfortable and the bed? Slept like a baby. The kitchen was so nice that it would be hard to not enjoy staying in for dinner. Then the best part is sitting on the porch with coffee in hand.This cabin sits perfectly on hillside overlooking nature. Very peaceful and serene. Will definitely be returning . This is a must stay.

We adored this cabin. It's in a good central location to the places we wanted to hike. We enjoyed coffee looking out of the big windows each morning. It’s beautiful and so peaceful. I love that it's updated but has the original look too. The showers are great and we loved the kitchen. Definitely recommend it for any couple looking to get away and relax!

This was an amazing place to stay! About 3 minutes from Desota Park for hiking at Indian falls, Laurel fall, and lost falls. You can go to the parks country store to pick up quick items. Mentone is about 13 minutes away from Wildflower cafe or Mad Hatters cafe. You are still in the woods for peace and quit but not far from a restaurant. The inside of the house is modern with a touch of quaint cabin life. Loved sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee. Bonfire was easy and got an opportunity to be close with nature( 3 baby raccoon's walking by). Bed was very comfortable. I was worried about the traffic driving by at the stop sign but the inside is so sound proof. Owner was great communicating and giving directions or helpful hints on places and things to do. I really enjoyed the peace and quiet and the wooded views. Excellent place to stay

We loved our stay in Mentone. Nathan does a great job of communicating all the necessary details including accurate directions. The cabin itself was immaculately prepared and arranged and just what we were hoping for. It is very easy driving distance to hiking, downtown Mentone, and Desoto State Park. This was our second time to stay at one of his listings and have already booked another stay there. We highly recommend it!

This is a beautiful cabin! My husband and I loved our time there. The cabin has everything you could want and was absolutely immaculate. We enjoyed the winding mountain roads and visited a couple of the waterfalls. If we ever happen to be back this way we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

I picked up my son from Alpine Camp and we stayed a couple of days on Lookout Mountain to see the natural wonders. The cabin was perfectly located for everything. Nathan was a great host and made the experience easy.

They had everything you needed. The cabin was very nice and built with a lot of attention to details. We loved it. Close to a lot of outdoor activities within a short driving distance. Places to eat within 10 minutes. Beautiful area and cabin.

High end remodel but still kept the unique craftsman style. Great proximity to DeSoto State Park and just a short drive to DeSoto Falls. Spotlessly clean. It is on the corner of a 4 way stop but it sits far enough off the road that we didn't hear much noise inside. Great stay.

Great place. Had a minor issue with a rug or two that had glass embedded we just rolled them up and our stay was fabulous. 10/10 would reccommend.
