The rooms are basic as you would expect but incredibly clean with hot shower. We arrived very late after a walk but the lady still made us a beautiful dinner. And some Chacha to warm up. The restaurant is like sitting in your own museum
It’s a bit remote and away from things to do but this makes it more authentic. Signage from Liprari was poor.

Very interesting and lovely people - nice place - very good food.

Very unique place with loads of historical charm. Raul & his family were very kind hosts and looked after us very well. The food was also pretty decent. Good value for money.
It’s hard to find at the end of the longest day of the mestia ushguli trek & does add a bit of distance - luckily most of this (the entire descent) shortens the 4th day of the trek significantly.
Best way to find the hostel is walk to the shop cafe in iprali, then take the low road to the right (not the first right turn you come to), then keep following this road past the guest house’s sign (don’t go in the field as the sign indicates, stay on the road), until you reach the river at lalkhori (bottom of the valley) then turn right and follow the concrete road along the river until you reach it. Overall was worth the extra walk in our opinion!

We really enjoyed our short stay in this possibly the cutest little village in Georgia. The food which Mr. Raul prepared for us was simply amazing and our room was clean and comfortable.

Amazing host, tasty food, cozy room and very clean showers.
We really appreciated the way Raul welcomed us. We highly recommend this place to stay on the way to Ushguli if you do 4-days trekking from Mestia.
Everything was amazing.

Clean, comfortable, good food at a fair value. 80 gel/ person for a double room, dinner and breakfast, plus something to eat during the hike.
Raul (and David) are amazing, kind, with a rich living history.
It was a privilege.
Is 1 km away from Iprari, but worth the detour!
plus, Khe is worth the visit!

The host Raul was really nice and caring and made us feel at home. The house is nicely decorated (the dining room features lots of traditional Georgian tools which makes it look l like a museum) and has beautiful terrace located next to the Enguri river. In the courtyard you find a small 9th century church. The food was good value for money.
The bed wasn't the most comfortable. Getting there involves a little detour from the Mestia-Ushguli trail (but still doable).

Beautiful old building with a super friendly host. Dinner and breakfast were amazing and the host was extremely generous with home made chacha and wine to make it a very fun evening.

Raul was a good host and chatted away in Russian. The location slightly away from the Mestia to Ushguli trail means that this tiny village feels much less touched by tourism than other places to stop at the end of the third day. We had fun following the shortcut from the painted sign and finding red flashes and paint marks. The people who followed the map got lost. Had a good dinner in a fantastic museum like room. Shower s were hot with decent water pressure and after walking 22km, the bed was comfy. Would definitely stay here again.
Be good to know food and drink prices upfront.

Very friendly family, thanks Raul for your hospitality

Food was great and Raul is very nice
If you are on the Mestia-Ushguli trek, notice that its makes the walk about 1.5 km longer for both days.

Further to a great meal in a unique dining area, we enjoyed Raul sense of welcome. He will go the extra mile to help you find solutions in organising the logistics of your trip. The guest house is about a km away from Iparli right by the main road but it's worth the additional effort.

I just stayed one night for easy access to the Lagurka festival. The room was very clean and the bed was comfy. Rauli was very friendly and helpful. The eating area was fantastic: it was like a museum! There was hot water available to make hot drinks in the lounge/ eating area and the balcony was great.

Raul is a great, helpful and enthusiastic host. His guesthouse is in a small village a little off the main Mestia-Ushguli track. It seemed like the whole village was somewhat involved in making sure that the guests are alright. Two of the inhabitants opened the small village church for us, which has the most amazing frescoes.
Also, the guesthouse itself is great. The food tastes well and is eaten in a proper dining hall, really rustic and cozy. If you are interested in going to the Lagurka festival in late July, Raul’s guesthouse is just next door!
Our bed was a little short, but only because we’re pretty tall. Also, our window faced the river which made quite some noise in the night, so remember your earplugs if you’re a light sleeper.

Lovely welcoming host and gorgeous building. The dining experience was fantastic, too! Slightly further from the set trek than we expected but worth the extra distance!

Friendly host - really cool decorated dining room. Nice dinner, I didn't try the breakfast.
Thank you 🙂
My stay was lovely, and I would recommend - but need to mention that this guesthouse was double the price of the other three guesthouses I stayed at along the trek.

Owner/the lady insisted that we take of hiking boots prior to entering the home.
For me this means, someone is is taking a lot of care to keep the house clean! Always a good thing!
For the hike, you have to walk extra km.
We took the "shortcut" which I would not recommend-quite steep.
I saw some other ppl complain about the food.
It was not as abundant as in other guesthouses but we were still full after both dinner & breakfas (it was delicious). Also food was more expensive than in other guesthouses on the route.

1km from the main Mestia-Usguli trek in village called Khe. you need to walk on the road as the GPS shortcut path ends abruptly. very quiet old village with 5 houses. museum like dinning area. good food. wifi good. we paid GEL 80 per person for dinner, breakfast and bed.

Raul is really friendly and he has a really cool house which looks almost like a museum. The food is great and the room was even better.
It's a bit away from the trail.
I wanted to buy a beer after a long day on the trail, but he had only 2L bottles.

Delicious food, clean rooms, beautiful old apartment and hot shower after long hike!
Raul has big big heart! Perfect stay for 15 group of friends!

The food was great, the room, shower and toilet were clean, the wifi was good.
Raul showed us his kitchen museum and the church with the medival frescoes.
The location is lovely - very quiet and you see the church on the hill from the room.
The first floor is the dining room combined with a museum! You get to have a dinner in a real museum. How cool is that?
Directions: it's in the village called Khe. There are 4-5 buildings in the village, so once you are there it's super easy to find.

Best guesthouse in Khe ! Very useful to sleep there for the Mestia-Ushguli trek. The host accepted to prepare breakfast for 7am in order to hike to the Latpari pass.

Everyone was very welcoming and made it a pleasant experience after a big day hiking. The room, dining area and balcony were all very lovely and the highlight of our hiking accomodation. Even though a little further from the trail, definitely worth it.
It would be nice to know the prices of dinner and breakfast on arrival.

The house is really old and the first floor is made into a sort of museum, so it is a nice experience. Food was tasty and we even got some home-made cha cha for dinner.
After the long day of walking it was a pain to walk to this place. Apparently, there should be a shortcut (a lady at the guest house told us about some shortcut from Iprari), but we did not dare to try it based on the reviews here.
According to Mapy.cz there should have been a path from Iprari passing the river and the abandoned village Agrai. We tried it for a bit but it just ended in a forest and anyway did not make much sense, so we just returned on the road.

The breakfast had a great choice of food. The beds were comfortable. The staff was very friendly.
The wooden floor of the house was very squeky. We had the unfortune of large group checking in late in the evening, and I couldn't fall asleep some time after midnight until they were done going to the bathroom, because of their stomping and the floor shaking and making a lot of noise. Also, we didn't get two rooms with double beds that we booked. At first we were offered a room with four single beds for our stay. When we said that we had separate rooms booked then we were offered rooms with two single beds. One of our rooms with double bed was already taken. It seems that they don't really follow the details of specific booking.

Staying in Raul's guesthouse was a great experience. The house is huge and it's hard to imagine how much time and effort it took to renovate it. We loved the museum and terrace of the house. Raul is very accomodating and lovely person, who is happy to share all the information he has.
İt's a little bit off the way, but we were prepared for it. We didn't take short cut as many reviews have mentioned, but walked along the road. İt was just fine.

Wonderful old (900 year) house is like staying in a museum!
Nice people in the tiny village and they have great cha cha and wine to sample 🥃🥂
A bit out of the way, but that's part of the charm

The place it self is nice and the host are very friendly. As mentioned before the dining room is worth the visit.
As mentioned before, the accommodation is not on the track to Uschguli. It is 1.4km of the track. It is not much in its self but the day 3 on the hike is quite long and this extra 1.3km that day are the hardest on this day.

It's a grand old house and our room faced right onto the river, great white noise for sleeping. Our host made delicious food (with chacha at dinner) and was really kind to make breakfast at 7am so we could leave early and take the Latpari Pass to Ushguli. We were the only ones there so had the bathroom to ourselves. We followed previous review advice and ignored the shortcut sign, took the trail down to the river - it's a 15 min walk away from the trail.
Would like some hooks in the room to hang towels, clothes etc.

Hosts were warm, friendly and helpful.
We liked the location, because it was 1 km away from the main Mestia-Ushguli path, but at the same time there were no other tourists.
They have a normal Wifi, nice terrace, restaurant-museum was interesting too. We liked breakfast.
Shortcut. Don't follow path on maps.me (there is no path) and I don't recommend to use shortcut, because grass is too tall and the downhill too steep. A lot of scratches and bruises. Shower could be a bit better.

Room was good and dining room was exceptional with full of antique staff. Moreover, staff were great, special thanks to Daredjan and David. Dinner was good, with 3 salads, beef, soup and khachapuri. They gave us cha cha for free.
Shower was not the most pleasant
