Friendly staff and ideal location for centre of Driffield. Swimming pool with sauna and steam available during the day.

Chose this hotel, because of the pool and spa which turned out to be nothing like the pictures. The staff are friendly, but the natives are not, it reminded me of the dartboard scene in American werewolf.
Old Hotel, which has its charm, with creaky floorboards to keep you up at night as well as the paper, thin walls, put a jumper on for breakfast if you're going in the winter

It was like a cross between Fawlty Towers, the Adams Family and The Shining.

Delightful dated hotel. Good for the price. Restaurant closed. Friendly bar. Room upgraded to a suite.

Hotel fine but very old fashioned and the bed was really uncomfortable

We stayed here for 2 nights, its in desperate need of a refurb, the whole hotel smelt damp and musty and so did our clothes when we got home.. certainly wont be stopping again!

Had room 15 the bed was not very comfortable mattress very squeaky and you could hear the springs otherwise ok

Unfortunately, the hotel is very dated. The decor and rooms could do with updating. There was an agricultural show locally that we were attending and there was no chef in the hotel to offer an evening meal.

I have been staying here for 5 weeks,
Same rate every week , I had a phone call this morning telling me I owe them £40 for breakfast.
I explained I have been staying here for 5 weeks and I have paid the same room rate and selected breakfast every week. I had even booked next week, which is the same price with breakfast. I attempted to explain this to the person on the phone who was raising their voice to the point of rude. So I put the phone down on the end and cancelled my stay for the future, the hotel is clean but the rooms are very dated. The hotel is situated in a good location, which is why I stayed there. The attitude of the person was disgusting to be honest, and on a few occasions this week the breakfast has not been available at 07:00 which is not helpful as I am in town working and had to leave one morning as I would of been late.

Birthday Spa Stay for two nights was the worst I could ever imagine. On our first day since arrival, there was no hot water in the room, so we could forget about the warm shower in the room plus, the room was cold. We opened all radiator valves to warm up the room, but this did not resolve the hot water case. The room itself was a tidy, small double bed, but comfortable, with a bit out-of-date room design. The initial impression was that Spa facilities would mitigate previous experience. The spa was good, with a few minor issues: the jacuzzi water had too high pH (water drops irritate eyes too much), and some rubbish was floating in the swimming pool. Steam room and Sauna require some TLC, never the less the experience was good. The second night was much better: the room had hot water. The entertainment was a fire drill that could not be resolved till 4 am: It was up and down since 9 pm. The room had a massive fire drill in our room, so we had no idea if the hotel was on fire till it was suggested the hotel had an electrical issue. So Bell hotel kept us alerted for two days. (Not sure if it was by the hotel design) I guess next time, I am booking a Hilton hotel, at least for the paid price you receive the service.

Friendly and clean. Really dated though and mattress was like a marshy

200 year old property and to be honest the decor and furniture probably dates back to then. Very uncomfortable seats in the bedroom very creaky landings and floorboards also paper thin walls! So can hear the lot going on next door! Weak shower freezing cold in dining areas! I asked for the heating to be it on but I was told no?
Staff were fine especially the bar breakfast and reception.Food not too bad. The place is falling to bits and I’m reluctant to use Best Western again as they put their name to some terrible hotels! Not recommended I’m afraid! Needs a complete overhaul.

Sorry but not my type of hotel. Your staff were all amazing , however the rooms are very dated and need a real makeover especially the bathroom. No evening meal available but a choice of local eateries given and offer of plate and utensils if you bought a carry out . Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Leisure was okay with friendly attendant . Car parking is limited and tight !!!!.

I expected an ensuite but the bathroom was accessed via a spiral staircase and was on a different floor to the bedroom. I was aware the room was accessed by stairs but not the bathroom

I hate concrete block hotels. A character filled hotel that was perfect. Will definitely visit again

This is a quirky relic of a hotel, a few hundred years old and worth staying just for the experience. But dont stay here if your after something modern. the car park is also very tight, not helped by inconsiderate or poor drivers who cant park within lines but I was told there was another free to use car park a short walk down the road that hotel guests can use when the main car park is full.

Lots of character but has seen better days.

Friendly staff, nice room, liked the quirky decor. Only issue was parking as no space available when we returned in the evening so had to park away from the hotel (luckily still in daylight).

The property itself is beautifull but a bit tired inside .clean and warm which suited me .The bed and pillows not quite as comfortable as i would have hoped the pillows a bit too firm .

The venue was lovely with a great atmosphere giving the feel of the period in which the building stands for. However signage is rather lacking, no mention on the front of the building about parking at the rear (non seen on arival). Shame the chef had been given the evening off before i had arrived. The bed is what i would describe a deforced bed as you roll out of bed due to the mattress worn in that manor.

Dated rooms but comfortable. Minor things like the almost non existent TV reception was a bug bear when you wanted to watch something. Car park is very small and took a lot of maneuvering to get out (if you were lucky enough to get in in the first place). Because of my shifts, didnt try the food but this is not a B&B just bed everything is extra. Well situated for the town and 20mins from Bridlington.

We absolutely adored this hotel. Very old fashioned but in a ‘home from home’ kind of way. The staff were amazing and the bed was soooo comfy!! And the spa was fantastic.
Would definitely stay again xxx

Room was large although the mattress was on the soft side

The parking is diabolical with a tiny car park and a lot of cars crammed in. For this reason I would never use this hotel again.

The first thing that we noticed when we entered the hotel the smell,it was rather off putting it was a damp musty smell. The door lock to our room was broken and we could not open the door the receptionist did in the end fix it and we were offered a free drink. There was holes in one of the ceilings and the paint work in the room near the window was very dirty please see attached photos the bed was so old I do belive that it was well past it sell by date but probably the only good point was the bath itself was very clean, we went to use the spa for an evening swim and it was closed ,due to the poor overall condition we checked out a day early and to our suprise we were not even asked why by the receptionist please see attached photos and let us know if you find this an acceptable standard we use Hotels.com all the time and have never had these issues before

Booked a night away for me and my partner, booked on the basis of on site parking and free WiFi in room as well as lobby, no parking available on arrival at all, ended having to park in a free car park away from hotel which is a thieves paradise, partner not good on her legs, spoke to hotel who said parking is limited but isn't stated on ad, WiFi didn't work in room, bed was really uncomfortable, no hot water for a shower, advised manager of this but wouldn't let us cancel booking without charge, hotel is overpriced and dated to say the least, wouldn't stay here again, there are cheaper options and I would advise they are booked instead, wished we had given our experience here, hotel is near pubs and if your a light sleeper you will be kept awake until they close
