Sheets were stained. Tv volume didn’t work, staff wanted to wait till morning to move us into another room… we got moved and the sheets in the new room were stained as well.

The night front desk was horrible. Not only did he charge me for a second deposit to which he never returned he also charged me for an extra night after having me pull out cash to pay for both the deposit n the room. He never was available when I was tryin to check out n he was very rude. As well as housekeeping didn’t give me any clean lining when needed. It was the worst stay ever

The clerk was not professional looking I got locked out of the room. It was not available to ride away to get me into my room. There was nothing in the room that showed you how to connect to the Internet I called and asked they told me yes there was a you had what you had to do, but I could never find that, although the room said non-smoking, there had been people smoking in that room I understand not having carpeted rooms but I think a runner would’ve been appropriate. The best thing about this property was the price.

The sheets were stained. Broken ice maker, broken tub plug, broken shower head and parking so tight can’t open doors.

Very small. Lingering smokers smell. The fire alarm was in the drawer. Fuse panel door missing in lobby. No breakfast. Meager bedding: 2 small pillows, bottom sheet plus a thin blanket sandwiched between 2sheets military style.

Wouldn’t recommend! My family and I arrived to Merced at 1 am. After driving about 6 hrs we were looking forward to getting a good nights rest. Bedsheets were soiled. Asked to be moved to another room. Bedsheets were soiled there too. Not clean. No breakfast included even though it advertised it. We ended up leaving to a nicer hotel.

Fairly clean and the staff were nice enough, but poorly maintained. Smoke alarms had been removed from rooms, and it took 3 room changes to find one that didn't smell like cigarettes. Only 1 channel on the TV, no duvet/comforter, no breakfast, pool closed, and the mirror in the bathroom was falling off the wall!

I would never stay on that hotel I live in Seattle and Travelodge there are clean and looking nice this one in Merced CA. Should be demolished. How can they continue doing business like that it is super bad

Front desk was very grouchy , room wasent cleaned proper and no breakfest. Pool had water but not open

It was dirty-had to ask to have room cleaned, water didn't go down in sink, phone didn't work, office not open often. workers acted like it was a problem to assist. We liked the location-definitely a low class motel.

Definitely not the worst hotel I have ever stayed at, but numerous issues. The mattresses in our double queen room were the hardest I have ever tried to sleep on. The free wifi was very buggy and I had to reconnect every hour or so. The 24/7 front desk was anything but, during reasonable hours (10 am, check out at 11), there was no one in the office and a closed sign in the window. It wasnt filthy, but I think that is about all I can say good about it.

The place is dirty ,the attendant close the office and go to sleep, I forgot my key and I went crazy to find him, he came out from one off the rooms with a very bad attitude, there is no ice 😡 they don’t clean the room, I had to take out my trash, the room smelled very bad, even if you want to save some money please don’t go there!!

I stay here because not by freeway and quiet.

We had to call the motel, to get someone to go to the frontdesk and check us in. Super inconvenient and not professional

The sheets were dirty. The tv was too small for the scale of the room. There was no power source next to the desk to plug in a laptop. water leaked all over the floor from the shower. no mirror other than in the bathroom. No ironing board available. Pool was closed, which was the major reason for booking.

It just did not look kept well, no usage of pool, no breakfast to offer, receptionist was helpful to let me in early

I did not like that I chose this hotel and the room based off of the jacuzzi in the room that did not work and I did not get asked if I would like a different instead I was told to use the adjacent room for the jacuzzi but do not use the bed but I did this due to it being my wifes birthday and had to have her take a bath and walk outside back to our room.

CUSTOMER SERVICE ISSUES: * Arrived at 1:30. Sign in office window said OPEN. Office was locked. Rang bell several times with no response. Called motel & was told rather brusquely, "Check-in is at 3 o'clock. Come back at 3 o'clock. * Never before has a hotel or motel told us to "go away" and come back at their convenience. (Even a national "low price" motel chain where I stay once a month on business is happy to at least greet me when I arrive -- and always provides an early check-in at no charge if a room is ready.) ROOM ISSUES: * Door so badly warped that a mouse or rat could get in thru the gap (see photo). * No closet of any kind for hanging clothes - just a 2-pronged hanger, half way down the bathroom door. * No luggage rack for suitcase. * No electrical outlet anywhere near desk. * Office chair at desk damaged & bent -- leans disconcertingly to one side. * Cover on heating/cooling unit appears ready to fall off. * Fan on heating/cooling unit very erratic in speed -- very annoying. Appears to be caused by faulty fan selector switch. When this switch is on "COOL,' the heating/cooling unit puts out warm air. * Two nightstands, but only one has a lamp. * Refrigerator door doesn't seal; therefore there is half an inch of ice coating the freezer surfaces. Fridge had been unplugged so it wasn't useable, and falling ice chunks awakened us at night. * Mattress extremely hard. * Pillows very thin and uncomfortable. * Coffee maker, but no coffee or coffee cups.

Always room for improvement, but at the price this is 5-Stars. I sent a company driver up that way for a pickup. The price was right, and my driver was happy. Win Win

I like the location is easy access or close to UC Merced. I did not like the fact that the original room they gave us has a toilet with broken seat and gave us another room with missing tv remote.

On the bright side, the air conditioning worked great, and wasn't terribly noisy. Given the 100-degree days we had, that was a must. Also, staff on site was helpful, friendly, and available 24 hrs as advertised. And the price was fantastic. Otherwise, the experience was not so good. The floor of the room was filthy, like it hadn't been cleaned in months; we had to wear shoes after taking a shower, or our feet would turn black from filth. The dresser had a drawer broken off. The toilet struggled to flush, and made horrible noises when flushed. The chain for the door was missing. We had to ask for hand soap. The beds were hard as rocks. There was no "Do Not Disturb" indicator for the staff for when we wanted to be avoided. The in-room coffee was terrible. The pool was out of service (not advertised), which was one of the main reasons we booked in the first place. You don't expect much from this class of hotel, but you should, at a minimum, have a functional and clean room.

Checking in was quick and really professional. Briann is a super star like Angel at the front desk at night. It’s worth a little more to just book and stay here at Marriott. We use this hotel for family trips to UC Merced to see our kids/adults. Save the trouble, stay here at Marriott. Pitch in a little more and get the breakfast burrito to go in the morning if you like to eat on the run. It’s fantastic. The kitchen and bistro service team are great because they have good attitudes. I was in the elevator and one of the housekeepers asked if I needed anything at all, and even encouraged me to call if wanted anything brought to the room like more pillows or towels or shower amenities. This is a different level of service you won’t get anywhere else in Merced. My daughter forgot headphones in room and the front desk person stayed on phone and had room checked for headphones. They were at the front desk when we returned. I made sure to leave 5$ per guest for our room as a tip when we left for the housekeeping staff. We will not stay anywhere else in Merced.
