While it was cool and nostalgic to stay at a hotel built 120 years ago, the Basin Park Hotel had little to be desired. Our room was small and quaint, but our bathroom was tiny (3'x3' shower), a toilet, that if you were a large person, probably couldn't fit on. The bathroom sink was actually in the bedroom!! Being old, the floors really weren't level, so if you have a problem with your balance, this probably isn't the hotel for you. On a positive note, the Balcony restaurant was nice and the food was quite good. The front desk staff could use a refresher course in customer service as it was difficult to understand our first clerk as her mask was hiding her voice and was difficult to hear. Our clerk at checkout was quite pleasant and helpful, though.

Four day stay, "Premium Single Room", we looked for a different room after the first night, unsuccessful. We knew the hotel was nostalgic, ready to embrace the fact that it was very old, we weren't prepared for the inability to just be comfortable. BAD things: hotel rooms are very noisy, floors creak at EVERY step, in your room and above/around you. You will hear every step, item drop, door close, showering, toilet flush, conversation. There is no where to put your personal items. Room has one nightstand, we turned over a trash can the first night just to have something to put our phone and water on. They brought a table the next day but we needed it for our bathroom items, no flat surface in the bathroom, there's a pedestal sink with no room for anything, had to balance anything we were using on the sink, the back of the toilet held the towels and extra TP. We literally took each item out of our toiletry bag, used it, put it back in the other room, back and forth. A simple shelf would have solved this. No where to hang our clothes we brought on hangers, no rack, no hooks. No makeup mirror or area to put on. Broken lamp held up by a chair. Front desk employees are not friendly, no smiles, won't engage, just bare minimum. GOOD things: for as old as this property is, the rooms were VERY clean, their housekeeping staff is top notch. The shuttle driver Benny was amazing and fun! Food in the hotel was great, game room is fun, bartender is same as front desk folks, not fun.

Everything was great! The paranormal investigation they offer is more of a tour of the hotel’s haunted places than an actual investigation. Not bad - just expected something different.

Old historical hotel feel was amazing ! Wish breakfast was included, Do not visit the pretzel shop tied to this hotel the owner is awful and will kick you out and refuse service for ridiculous reasoning !

We’ve stayed at this property several times. It’s the most centralized location. It’s an older building which is part of its charm but they could replace the caulking around the tub

We like to occasionally stay in this historic hotel, walk to restaurants, relax in pretty Eureka Springs. When we arrived they were testing the fire alarms throughout the building, excruciating noise every few seconds, all day. The desk clerk was non-committal about how much longer it would be happening, was pretty rude and unhelpful about it, and was finally convinced to move us to the sister hotel in a comparable room. As that was happening, the fire alarm tech came through and explained how they working and how much longer it likely would take. He was nice and seemed to know his job well. We chose to stay at Basin Park, take a walk until the testing finished, and it worked out fine. The hotel seemed to have no policies or compensation or vouchers in place to deal with the day-long issue, and although they knew the testing day a week in advance, we were not warned. The restaurant and spa was closed all day, but guests could unknowingly book a room. Weird. There were so many ways to communicate with us and warn us, but those were used continuously to try to sell us activities and spa services instead.
