Wasn’t looking forward to staying here based on the negative reviews but I was pleasantly surprised!
I stay in & out of hotels wk in wk out & have done for the past 19 yrs with work and I have stayed in a lot worse . Ok it needs a refresh but what budget hotel doesn’t these days . Young guy on desk on the night of check in was very helpful , yes would stay again .
3.0
Adequate for what we paid however the room was not refreshed at all even though we left the card on the door stating to clean room . We noticed after that there was a sign on the wall in the hallway saying to tell a member of staff directly if you wished for this to happen ! Not told on check in though the local football team had just one a major game reception not fully maned staff seemed overworked another state of ways not to have them carry out basic cleaning ! Won’t be staying again despite the good points on offer . Companies need to support staff so they can offer full service having spent 50+ years in the industry this was a first for me having to ask directly to have room refreshed when staying more than one night great idea in theory however make sure next time the guest knows this on checking in we don’t all read every sign etc .

Good location, clean, friendly staff. Needs updating but for the price, good value

Room was not well cleaned paint coming off the wall mold in the bath sealant Staff had to mend toilet as it didn’t flush
Bunch of lads at 01:00 kicking off as night porter wouldn’t let them in as they were very drunk and aggressive Strong smell of weed in the corridor getting to the room. Will not be staying again Marston get your act together and sort this place out it doesn’t give you a good reputation!!!

I have stayed at this hotel many times now while visiting my daughter in university and always had a comfortable stay however this time my room was at the front of the building overlooking the street and the noise was unbearable it was a Saturday night and from 10pm until at leat 3am myself and child were unable to sleep at all.
We also found that the bathroom in this room had yet to be cleaned from the previous guest as there were lids from razor's on the floor and a stained plaster that looked like it had come from someone's heel.
We have never had issues staying here in the past and always had a pleasant stay overlooking the car park.

A very basic , dated hotel as soon as you get past reception area . Plus points , good , free parking , very nice reception staff. Comfortable bed, decent size TV .
Negative , next to no wifi anywhere other than downstairs , which is ok, but say so in the add . And certainly don’t have in room cards bragging free wifi. General condition and decor very much , crossroads motel from the 80’s . Anyone else remember seeing an ashtray built into a lift ?? Shower is a mixer tap so either going to freeze or melt your skin off when someone else in the hotel flushes …

We had a good stay.Bit noisy with people coming out of pubs shouting plus church clock sounding out every hour.Had a bath but couldnt pull plug out as the chain wasnt attached to it but cleaner managed to pull it out with pliers.Would stay there again though as it is very convenient for pubs restaurants and shops.

ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT

Good size room and excellent breakfast but very poor shower and bathroom.
Room was also very hot even at this time of the year.

Walks were flaking paint, room wasn’t clean, bathtub was disgusting, service were rude at reception and did not listen to me.

Excellent location, and the staff are very helpful. However, the rooms are badly in need of a refurb, very poor.

Its handy for town and in a good location

Arrived and it was locked and couldn’t get into the hotel.

Rundown and noisy. They could make some easy fixes, like replacing the shower curtain and light bulbs -- the main light in the room flickered on and off. Staff was very nice, and the location is good, but the quality of the rooms seem neglected.

Staff were excellent and friendly, massive room, good food and great location

Good value for money, could do with updating and the cleaning could be better.
Overall if you want a cheap stay over this would be good.

Very comfortable in a good location

The town center is depressed and lacks any vibrancy. The hotel must once have been attractive, but now it’s a hangout for TV sports watchers, pool players and (friendly) rowdy locals. Room was okay, rather run down, but the bed was comfortable. Helpful staff.l

It wasn’t the most modern property but it has lots to offer in terms of convenience & access to shops & eateries. The beds were so comfy & the fan a very welcome addition in the heat. Staff were courteous, polite & informative.

Very conveniently sited in the heart of Wrexham, which made my days out by bus/train easy and convenient. The room itself was clean and tidy, and surprisingly quiet for a town centre location.
I had the hotel breakfast on one of my mornings there, and this was of good quality and reasonably priced.
Dissapointingly for a Marstons Brewery owned hotel, none of their real ales appeared to be available at the hotel bar.

The pictures of the hotel show a refurbished building at the front, unfortunately the hotel reception (24Hrs) is at the back, there's a car park with a couple of charge points. The hotel is typical 1980's hotel and doesn't look like its been refurbed since, all as clean as the tired decor allowed, beds notably comfortable, shower odd and noisy but functional until water pressure dropped (2nd floor room).
Rooms not air-conditioned but large fan provided.
Basic accommodation for a basic price with a comfy bed, right in the middle of Wrexham.

Everyone was very friendly. Breakfast was super value at £8.75.
Overall brilliant overnight stay

Red head young lady on checkout was rude as i asked for a breakfast refunded after noone was in when went for breakfast as id had some toast while waiting for someone to turn up tried to say technically id had the breakfast i was not impressed and had to explain i paid for a cooked breakfast but staff was on a cigarette break so i did not have time she was very abrupt and claimed i had attitude. I was not happy at all now i look back.

This property is very close to the restaurant we like to dine in and suits us for this reason. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. No real down sides.

One night stay for a family party get together living in the Wrexham area. Third time hotel accommodation acceptably.

Great location, nice little hotel. Was clean and welcoming, just a little TLC needed in the bathroom and the shower needs updating to make it excellent instead of good.

We stayed here for 9 days. The free parking and Wi-Fi were nice to have. The room was clean and neat and a good size for 4 people. We loved the staff. They were so friendly and helpful. We didn't use housekeeping services often, so I did have to ask for toilet paper often. The food and drinks were good, and we enjoyed hanging out at the bar with family we were visiting. Things to note... This is an old hotel. They still use keys to get in and out of the rooms. The light switches for the bathroom are on the outside so turning on the light in the middle of the night woke some people up(although I think this is common for the UK) This hotel is in a wonderful part of town. It's very easy to walk around and visit local shops, cafe's and attractions. The only downside is that at night it is very noisy. This is not the fault of the hotel. Because the weather is generally cool, there's no air conditioning. You have to open the windows, which for safety purposes, only opens 4 inches. We closed them most nights due to the noise which made the room warm. They only had a thick comforter on the bed, but I would have been fine with a sheet. (Granted I didn't ask if they had sheets. If I'd asked they may have accommodated the request. I didn't think of it.) They provided fans, but I did miss my AC. On the whole, this was a wonderful experience. The hotel and staff did just about everything right. I look forward to staying here when we visit family again.

I was only there for one night, parking and check in was easy. Staff all very friendly. Recommended

Sorry but needs a complete refurbishment

The hotel served its purpose, a bed for two nights.

We stay at this hotel often. On the day we stayed there was a party of 30 caribean guests who were performing at the Llangollen festival. The guests in Room 9 (we stayed next door in 11), on 2 occasions - one at 1.30 am and then again at 2.10 am I had to report the noise coming from this room. The night staff said they had told them they weren't going to stop the noise - NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL with Room 9, no consideration given for any other guests. I would have thrown them out there and then!!
4.0
Bed/bedding good. Bar good.
Wi-Fi poor in rooms. Only 6 channels on tv. Rooms could be improved (stains/marks on walls, no soap in dispensers etc).
3.0
The 'family' room we were allocated was very noisy due to AC equipment outside. Chairs in the dining area are in urgent need of reupholstering/replacement. Bath/shower plumbing needs modernisation.
