We really enjoyed our stay at the Thayer Hotel. The architecture was interesting and the room was large and very attractive. I loved the pictures on the wall that showed the history of one of the cadets who went on to become an astronaut. I assume other cadets are featured in the other rooms.

The hotel was beautiful and felt relaxing and nice. I didn’t like that when we checked out, they added another $25 hotel fee. My reservation was FULLY paid in advance and there were enough extra fees tagged to the original rate. Not sure why they charge me more money without notifying me in advance.

We came here for a last night before to return home after a trip to NYC. The room was large with a view on the Hudson. The staff was pleasant (valet, reception and restaurant).
There was a passenger train passing on the other side of the shore every 30 to 40 minutes, this gave a Harry Potter type of feeling to the room but if you want complete silence, I would suggest taking a room with the windows facing the court.
Even with instructions, the lighting system was bit difficult to figure out.
The architecture and decoration of the lobby is spectacular. The restaurant MacArthur is worth the while. This was a nice calming night before returning home.
Would go back again.

My room is very small. The staff was very slow.

A great location, much better than anything else in the area. Unfortunately, the check and staff were frankly rude, the dinner at MacArthur's Riverview restaurant was mediocre at best. The dining room was loud and it was grossly under staffed.
If we were ever to come back to the area we would not stay here.

It was a Truly Amazing Hotel with a Lot of History. Personnel Were Friendly and Attentive, They Were Helpful with Our Questions Asked. I Would Highly Recommend the Hotel to Friends and Family Visiting the Academy. Food at MacArthur's Restaurant was Outstanding and the Atmosphere at the Zulu Rooftop Bar was Great with Beautiful Views of the Hudson River.

It was not horrible but very average stay. Cot was ‘unsleepable’. Fridge is extra $. The view of the Hudson was really nice. Overall, the hotel has an interesting history, huge stone presence which is very caool, and the walls are adorned with old men in stuffy uniforms even in the room. Kind of museum like. It’s a good location as far as reaching activities within a reasonable distance. Front desk staff were nice, as well as the housekeeping staff. The restaurants had very limited hours but the local town Highland Falls, a sleepy town with very limited dining options, unless pizza is fine. I would fine another place to stay if I visited the area. But that’s just me.

Hotel Thayer is an amazing place to stay if given the opportunity. The hotel is historical and the room was nicer than any other Ive stayed in in quite some time. MacArthurs Riverview Restaurant was delicicious ' being able to eat b outside was enjoyable.

The architecture of this hotel is truly amazing! The lobby is beautiful and everyone from the moment we pulled up to the moment we left was very friendly and accommodating. The rooftop bar had excellent service and food and the Sunday brunch is out of this world

Beautiful hotel in a gorgeous location! Lunch in the restaurant was great and the bar was very comfortable. Take time to get a visitor pass and walk around the West Point campus. The only criticism I have is that the room air conditioner unit was very noisy.

Desperately trying to make money with valets and overpriced dinning. Drinks at the bar were double what the comparable competitors or asking and if the bar tender doesn’t know how to mix a drink properly he should say so.

Hotel is situated in a beautiful, picturesque area on the Hudson. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The room was adequate and clean.
The dining room was understaffed and a bit unorganized. Also wasn't clear about the breakfast buffet. We saw some people had juice and didn't realize there was chef preparing fresh omelets (he wasn't there when we walked in and waitress didn't mention). The eggs and potatoes in the metal pans were cold. The few wait staff were all running around so we just didn't see fit to complain.

It was a beautiful Saturday evening and the touted rooftop cocktail bar that overlooks the Hudson was closed. Also the room air conditioner was old, loud and ineffective. The room was uncomfortably warm making it difficult to sleep.

Perfect hotel to stay at when visiting West Point, It's beautiful property located just outside the Thayer gate to the US Military Academy , it overlooks the Hudson River. walking distance to west point museum and visit center. Easy to take free shuttle bus to campus. Staff was super friend. Young girl in front dest gave me big help. I am so appreciated for her help.

Great stay experience! The hotel put us in a historic room. Inside were photos and letters from a veteran. My daughter was invited to participate in the Summer Leadership Experience at West Point. This room allowed her to get to know a soldier. That's great! Thank you very much for the arrangement of the former service lady of the hotel! Except for the restaurant with river view, due to time constraints, we were unable to experience other facilities of the hotel. It's a pity! I hope there will be opportunities in the future! By the way, the view from the river view restaurant is really beautiful! If you stay here, you must experience it!

I stayed at Thayer Hotel to attend a West Point wedding! It was perfect! Love hanging out at the tavern at night with all the guest and waking up to breakfast downstairs. The staff was extremely friendly and efficient. If I am in that area again, I will definitely stay at this hotel.

The Thayer is iconic. Super clean super comfortable especially the bed! Staff were all friendly and helpful.

The food left a lot to be desired. If you stay here, please go elsewhere for meals. I ate in 2 of the 3 restaurants and both were not good; cold food, moldy fruit, pizza that tasted like dollar store pizza. The wine selection is also limited and not up to par. However, the facility is beautiful and the service is the best I've ever had while travelling.

Beautiful grounds, elegant atmosphere. Lots of History. Everything needed in Room. Very comfortable bed, great pillows. Right next to West Point Campus and grounds. Excellent service.

Great staff, nice room, but we didn't realize on a friday night the roof top bar was so loud that the hotel supplies the room with ear plugs 😮💨 not a restful experience at night.
