Positives and negatives- We went to dreams from April 23rd to the 29th. The beach is okay. Water temp about 80 degrees. We went snorkeling on both sides by the rocks and down the middle. Alot of seaweed, sargasm. Walk down towards the left if you want to swim.
Restaurants are ok. Enjoyed pancakes and waffles at Portofino, Ceviche at Oceana, enjoyed the Mexican, italian and Japanese restaurants. Some breakfast foods were gressy(egg sandwich)and some lunch foods were cold (wings and fries). Room was beautiful but our ac in master bedroom went out 3 nights out of the 6. We had a preferred club one bedroom master suite. There is nothing preferred at this resort. Everyone was allowed in preferred club pool, in preferred section of beach and at preferred bar. You had access to preferred lounge but the ac in the lounge is on low. Pools are beautiful, many to choose from. Resort is far from airport and excursions. If I could save you some time and energy DO NOT GO ON NATURE HIKE. IT IS THE SAME TRAIL AS ATV AND HORSEBACK RIDING. IT IS FULL OF POOP. We saw more wildlife on the property. We went for a wedding. Ceremony and reception were outside. In 95 degree weather, they should have reception indoors.

I am rating this property very poorly for their customer service. We had a severe family illness (close to death) that resulted in 2 people from our group not being able to travel to this resort. I cancelled in advance of the trip and have been waiting for over a month and a half for a reply on a refund. After providing doctor's notes and much more documentation they have refused any refund or credit. When I was at the resort I asked the on site manager if there is anything I should do while there about the 2 people who couldn't travel and he said no, to leave it to senior management. They either sold the room to other guests and even if they didn't they benefitted by no one using the room (no cleaning), no one eating and no one drinking. This is unacceptable for a Dreams property and one that is owned by Hyatt. I even contacted Hyatt and they have yet to get back to me. While it is in their right according to the cancellation policy to decline my refund request, they have been terrible in communicating and not even offering any make-up (like a partial refund or even a credit at another Hyatt property). Buyer beware!

It was very beautiful.

My experience at the all-inclusive hotel was abysmal. The customer service was atrocious, marked by blatant prejudice and racism from the staff. None of the promised VIP perks or credits were honored, creating a sense of deception. The overall safety of the place was questionable, and the road to the hotel was a nightmare to navigate. A regrettable choice that I strongly discourage.

Was amazed by the size of this hotel but liked that everything was in the same area so you don’t have to walk all over. Room was nice, ocean view is a stretch but understandable. Food was okay, typical all inclusive. I didn’t like the dress code during the day for restaurants, always had to change with a bathing suit on. Entertainment was good. Most bars are fast besides the club. But overall good stay.

Very clean and beautiful property. Room service is decent annd on time unlike many all inclusive resorts I have lived in. Service and hospitality can use some improvement. Love the room. Very comfortable beds. Clean washrooms

We loved where the property was situated, the fun and friendly staff, the cleanliness, and the food

It was a totally excellent experience! The staff was wonderful. The resort was delightful and beautiful. We had a wonderful time with my daughter and 10 year old granddaughter.

One of the best properties I have stayed at.

We had a great visit at Dreams Las Mareas. The drive was a little far from the airport, but worth it. The beach and pools were nice, but VERY limited chairs around the pool. The food was ok. Not terrible for an all inclusive. Drinks were great. Good selection and good pours. The resort was very clean everywhere. The best part of the resort was the friendly, helpful staff. Everyone was so accommodating and went above and beyond to take care of you. Would definitely go back.

Remote location(90 minutes bus ride from airport), however, beautiful property… Would’ve loved to have more expanded beach access and water events as jet-skiing, boat tours, snorkeling, hang gliding,etc….. otherwise it was extremely enjoyable..!!!

Outstanding pool features and layout

The highlight of this trip was the monkeys in your balcony in the mornings. Doesn’t look like they have enough staff because servers were busy took a while to get service.

This property is beautiful. My room was perfect, the greenery and the water is all so perfect and beautiful. The staff is beyond friendly!

If you read a bad review for Dreams in Costa Rica something is wrong with them!!! The pictures online does not do this place any justice! The place is AMAZING!!! Of course everything may not be perfect but in this type of paradise you can’t complain! The drinks, the bars, the outside grills and food, THE POOLS, the landscaping, OMG the monkeys! Everything was GREAT! Will definitely be returning!

Overall the property was great. They were a couple of incidents where the lights went out and the water pressure was weird but again it was an awesome place.

I enjoyed everything about my stay. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The resort was beautiful they providing various entertainment and activities during our stay. I was able to see the monkeys two days which was a big highlight of my visit. Only problem was taking a shower the water was too cold or extremely hot, couldn't find a happy medium.

Everything was perfect!

The area is gorgeous, the pools and bars are grear but the qualuty of the food is really quite bad. Everything was either extraordinarily flavorless or salted within an inch of its life. Room service menu is extremely limited and limited to certain times of day. I did not anticipate an all-inusive luxury resort would only let me order wings to my room after 11p and then take literally 3hrs to deliver cold wings
Id go back to guanacaste, but id def stay somewhere else.

The overall experience was amazing, the palm trees, to having pool access to 9pm it was amazing. Good I would definitely give it a 3 out of 5, when I first came and I had some steak from the buffet it was barely cooked it was not seasoned and more. The prices in the shops were very expensive a bottle of sunscreen was 40$ that’s a bit extreme. To get into town it was about 30 minutes and most of the excursions were an hr and more to get to. They definitely need more entertainment because the staff looked liked they killed them selfs to make it fun and exciting for everyone. But overall experience was great and I would definitely do it all over again. P.s I didn’t see any monkeys I saw some raccoons and some cool birds. People stated that they were around but I didn’t get that experience.

This property is chaotic; the food was terrible; it is understaffed and there is very poor attention to health and safety. We booked a room for 4 people, and at check-in were charged 1700 dollars for the 4th person.

It was great. The food and drinks could be better tasting.

The food was mediocre and that was the best part. It was old and dirty and far removed from everything. Rooms were not nice. Nothing luxurious about this hotel

Everything was great, except front desk staff.

Dreams Las Mareas is such a beautiful place!! We woke up to monkeys on our balcony ever morning. We love the option to snorkle, kayak, and paddle board right on the property. We would definitely go back!!

Overall the property was nice but our maid service was poor 4 out of the 7 days and 1 day it wasn’t cleaned at all

the location is secluded, which makes it difficult to go on excursions. the language barrier is a challenge. Resources such as towels and cleaning service is limited. Majority of staff is friendly but the front desk employees are rude. There is not alot of sanitation practices in place .

Beautiful landscape and Walk pathways. A lot of dinning options. Pools and drinks perfect. Really good vacation spot I stayed Monday -Friday.

Almost everything about dreams was fantastic the monkeys and wildlife that are around are incredible and wonderful to look at people need to not feed them, though period there are signs, but many people ignore it period so it needs to be touched on more at check in.
Our accommodations were wonderful. The bed was comfortable, the room was pretty. The view off the balcony was nice and the balcony tub was wonderful.
The grounds are beautiful Pretty easy to walk around with a little bit of Hill action. So wearing comfortable shoes is a must.
Everyone who works there is delightful. The servers and housekeeping and bartenders, everyone is great.
Theres a *timeshare* presentation you can go to for some free things. Its enticing but ultimately not something we went for. And boy do they try.
The food.... is less than good. I'm not personally a very picky person. When it comes to food, I just mainly eat vegan. Vegetarian was possible here but thats it. The food was overall not worth what we probably paid for it. The drinks were often watered down. At least it seemed that way. And the restaurant say you don't need to make reservations, but then have a two hour wait.
If they had better food I would give them more stars.
The excursions we did were the best part of our trip. We went with a wonderful, amazing tour guide named Fabian Ramirez, who took us to the rainforest Where we saw monkeys and Sloths and it was amazing we went snorkeling and on acultural tour as well

Dreams Las Mareas is a beautiful property with amazing nature all around. The property is very large but designed in a way where you never feel like it’s overcrowded. We enjoyed the activities the resort had to offer such as nature hikes, yoga on the beach, live music and shows. This place was amazing.

10/10 the pools were amazing, very clean! Our room was on the first floor, I would recommend staying on the 3rd or 4th floor so you can see the monkeys in the morning hop from one balcony to the next. Fun way to start the day! The food was great, definitely loved the Italian food. Fun activities to do, such as Pilates and dance lessons. Be sure to take the sunset hike, very beautiful! Terry in entertainment was so fun! Love love love the Costa Rica people! Pura Vita! Loved that they had champagne put out for you while you wait to be seated at the restaurants. The one down side is the lunch options, the grills take forever, so line up right at 12 and be sure to wake up early to claim prime real estate at the pools. There’s a great app that has all the days activities and very easy to use and includes ordering room service! We’re well traveled people in our young 40’s and we were impressed! Book it, no regrets!

Karolina at the Portofino restaurant was amazing. She was very friendly, knowledgeable & fun. Great service all around at the restaurant.

The hotel is in a nice location. The food, service, activities, entertainment, etc... were mediocre at best. We are regretting our choice to stay here. Our greatest times were spent off the property.

This is a very impressive all inclusive resort. The one improvement I would make is to change the numbering scheme on their maps to match the actual building numbers.

The resort is in the middle of nowhere surrounded by trees about 1.5 hour from the airport. The resort is nice but the location is horrible.

We had our honeymoon at Dreams Las Mareas in May 2023. The resort was amazing!! The staff was very friendly and always there to help. The food was amazing and there are a lot of dining options. We really enjoyed the Italian restaurant. The pools are all clean and well kept along with all the bars and amenities around the pools. The room was very spacious and the room service was fast and food was good. Would definitely go back and recommend to anyone who is looking for an all inclusive in Costa Rica!

We only went one night for a wedding we were attending. We were put on the first floor, no view, smelled like mildew, and there was so much red tape checking in and out. The beach was filled with vendors not from hotel. So many people it felt like you were on a cruise ship, stuck. Loud groups and busy restaurants. Typical all inclusive, but this is not Costa Rica. There are so many amazing places and small hotels, be more creative on your vacation than this.
