We had a great time and hope to come back again.

Everything was beyond our expectations. The hotel staff and the manager, Ms. Lula, who is present daily at the location, are very kind and friendly. They made us feel at home. Every day at the pool bar, they celebrate like it's a party ongoing. The rooms are exactly like in the pictures: very clean; the towels and bed sheets are changed daily; clean bathroom. In the garden, you can hide from the sun and relax in beds under the beautiful palm trees. The water in the pools is filtered with oxygen, which is not harmful for you. The wi-fi had a surprisingly good signal everywhere, even at the beach sunbeds. The sandy beach is not crowdy, we could find sunbeds at any hour (front row), and the water is not deep at the shore, so it is suitable for little children too. The hotel is situated in a quiet area of Malia, just 30 minutes from the Heraklion airport. Traditional tavernas are very close to the property, with fresh seafood and fish. Also close to supermarkets, where you can find a great variety of products from food to cosmetics. The bus station, 1 km away, with buses every 30 minutes, can take you to the Crete Aquarium or Dinosauria Park, great locations for kids in the nearby town of Gouves. You don't need to rent a car. Also, the property is close to the Cretan Medicare Malia (hospital) in case of need. There is a waterpark with slides just behind the property.

Great location for both relaxation and fun

Great pool area, right on the beach. Very hospitable, lots of fun, everything is great. Rooms are very clean, there is deep cleaning everyday.

You can’t really open the windows because it gets full of mosquitoes that will not let you sleep at night. It was decreasing our fun. some window nets would have been useful.

The days were awesome, the nights were rough.

Staff is amazing, super friendly and always ready to help. The beach was wonderful! It’s a very modern hotel and excellently located in Malia.

The A/C in our room never worked. The sheets were very stiff and uncomfortable, so it made it very difficult to sleep.

This place exceeded my expectations. I came with my 2 children for a mini break and couls t be happier with the experience we had here. I originally wasn't keen to go to Malia but now I've stayed here I would definitely go back. It was lovely and relaxing place to stay, very clean and the staff were amazing. I highly recommend Akrogiali.

A wonderful three bonus days in Crete in this great hotel

The hotel has a beautiful pool, access to the beach and an amazing poolside restaurant which is the hub of Akrogiali Beach Hotel. It is set in a great spot in the resort. Away from the main strip but close enough to walk there.

Wi-fi was disappointing in the bedroom and the bed sheets were a little stiff.

A new home in Malia

Loula and the team at the beach bar have become a part of our family, they were hilarious and welcoming and helpful. Everything else was great also.

Very good

The only thing I didn’t enjoy at this hotel was the Wi-Fi. In our room it was extremely slow and only was it acceptable was when we’re at the pool area or beach.

Staff is very nice and helpful. The bedroom was great with a view over the pool and the sea. Mattresses were really comfortable. The location is perfect for a relaxing time in Malia.

It is a shame the hotel is that big.

Unforgettable

Elizabeth welcomed us like a family member. So sweet and kind. The room is amazing everything is super high quality from furnitures to the bed sheets. The room and common areas are super clean. At the bar Giorgio is so funny with such a positive attitude and he always had the right words to say to made our days. All smiling from the morning to the evening. Which is unbelievable but real. Everyone so professional and very welcoming. Is difficult to explain you have to stay here to experience. And thank you to Lula for creating such a great environment. They work hard and with passion and we could see that. I just stayed 4 days but I wish I could stay more and this is also thanks to the great staff.

Maybe a long mirror in the room otherwise nothing is missing

Apartment was very clean, was cleaned very day (also when we only left in the afternoon), fresh towels every day - sea view was very nice

It's located in Malia which is not the most beautiful place on the island; but the hotel is at the beach, so that does not really matter (and also very nice beaches are close by); also note that you have to pay seperately for sunbeds (as indicated in the description)

Great location and super friendly staff

The rooms are quite big with two big balconies, and they are thoroughly cleaned every day, towels changed and all, and the bathroom is also big with a bath tub! It is literally in front of the beach where the hotel owns sun-beds that can be rented (6 EUR for 2 beds and 1 umbrella). Between the hotel and the beach there is a pool with free to use sun-beds and different lounge areas. It is then very nice to be in the pool and have the beach and sea view. The beach next to the hotel has soft sand and the water is very clear. Other beaches in Malia are much rockier so this is a big advantage. All the staff was extremely friendly and funny, I felt like home every day ❤️

The beach bar and restaurant although very affordable and with a great staff doesn’t have as great products as other places in Malia, so we preferred to dine out and just grab there a quick bite form time to time. It is by no means bad, it’s just a bit “fast food”-ish and on the low end side. however there are many options around and this should not deter you from staying here unless you plan to stay in the hotel exclusively.

The friendliness, atmosphere, lovely staff from groundsman, cleaning staff, receptionist and bar staff to the wonderful manager Lola. The property is cleaned and maintained to an exceptional standard. An excellent location right on the beach and a quiet, relaxing break that was much needed. More importantly we are planning to return at least once next year and looking forward to it already!

If you are looking for your next favorite summer getaway, you will be glad you chose Akrogiali Beach Hotel! This little family-owned gem is perfect in every way. The beautiful bright rooms (comfy beds! quiet air conditioning! thoughtful wee details!) are footsteps away from the soft sand beach with generous comfortable sun loungers. On the way down you’ll be greeted by the awesome staff at the beach bar, where you absolutely must get a delicious drink or snack. Watch the sun go down in the evening with an apero from the white couches on a wooden deck. And although the hotel is a scenic 20-minute taxi ride right from the Heraklion airport — and the busy tourist town of Malia is easy footsteps away — you’ll still feel like you’re away from everything. Thank you to the one-of-a-kind Lula, the talented Elisabeth, and the dudes behind the bar, Mikalis & Giorgios, for their endless energy and good vibes! Even the other hotel guests are cool — this place seems to attract chill folks, from families to retirees and everyone in between. We can’t wait to come back. On a sandy nice beach, with nice people working there. We got a free upgrade of the room. The place had a very good relaxing vibe :)

The rooms didn’t have anti mosquito nets, so we couldn’t leave the doors open in the evenigs.

We highly recommend this great beach hotel, we spent two weeks in it and we are very happy with the stay. very clean beautiful beach with incredibly comfortable sun loungers, the travel to which takes literally one minute, the pool bar is very good, the food is very fresh and really homemade. The city also has a huge number of good restaurants, personally we liked Mezes Garden Restautant the most. cleaning in the rooms is very high quality, and the hotel itself is very clean. I would like to highlight the hotel staff, starting with communication by email, ending with their friendliness, attention and care during our stay. Thank you very much!

Megálos!

Perfect location right at a very nice beach. Had great fun snorkeling and chilling there as on other beaches in Crete. The staff and owner are super friendly and forthcoming. Overall a very pleasant stay.
