First I want to say that I was horrified that the main pool was closed for renovations and we were not informed prior neither was it on their website. Secondly the place is infested with mosquitoes which made it very uncomfortable and most annoying. Thirdly the staff was not friendly and the first 2 days the food was horrible it improved somewhat but still no that good. Now let’s not get started in the tilting shower that you can barely fit in m… they really need to upgrade this hotel. It looks so perfect in the photos but is far from.

This property definitely needs some TLC. The rooms are ridiculously small, my sister found bed bugs in her room, and the food was not the greatest. With the exception of a few of the workers in the dining hall on one night, the staff was very friendly. The liquor was also fairly cheap, which got a few of us sick, but, I guess you get what you paid for, as the stay was budget friendly. The BEACH is the most AMAZING part of the resort. The pool needs to be cleaned, so I did not get in at all. They also need to upgrade their key system and the in room safes. Overall, besides the bed bugs incident, I would not say that the resort is the WORSE, however, I would give it an okay based on the price that you pay to stay there.

I’ve stayed in this resort before and have positive review. This stay was different. Lots of negative changes been implemented. They no longer clean the rooms unless you pay extra and request cleaning 24 hours in advance. Restaurant choice has gone from poor to non existent. There’s only buffet and pizza place, for later you’d need to make a reservation. The bathroom didn’t have a proper door, it was kind of swinging like a barn door. The property is ran down and in need of repair. That said , if you’re on a budget and want to enjoy a beautiful beach for a few days, go for it.

The staff were all friendly and great for the tour desk to waitstaff to bartenders. Of course we had our faves, (Glendale and Karlos), mostly at the long bar. Where we also enjoyed our evening entertainment, including g the superbowl. The beach is great and a long stretch just within the resort, tons of sturdy wooden umbrellas and no shortage of chairs here or at either pool. Pools were clean just needing maintenance for appearance. The food was def adequate, plenty to offer for different diets. The coffee was delicious, as were the desserts. The room, well, it’s different. But what it had was a decent closet with hangers, other cubbies and mirror, ceiling fan, several lights, safe, patio for drying suits with chairs, etc. we had high water pressure and hot water daily, and received fresh towels as requested. The front door stuck, the patio door lock was a nail in a hole, the a/c did not work well, until the last day they fixed it, so the room felt a little damp. The shower is small, and no exhaust fan in bathroom. It is old, but I think the cost represents this for the Caribbean. The bars have cold water available and the coffee bar which is self serve but my suggestion would be to offer a beverage upon arrival or have the water at front desk. We had a full day of travel and were very parched and hungry. We had to wait 1 hour for food. Nothing is 24/7. All in all very enjoyable, but we did leave the resort every other day for 6 nights.

We had an amazing time at the resort. The staff are extremely friendly and made our stay a memorable one. We stayed in a supersaver room which was comfortable/functional despite being small and dated. Overall food was good with variety. The location is ideal to popular sites including Shirley Heights and Stingrays City with a supermarket within walking distance. We will definitely visit again.

Best beach on the island. All staff were amazing. Food was excellent. Older resort but room was clean and we were only in room to shower and sleep. It rained one entire day but staff did their best to not let that spoil everyone’s trip.

We loved the beach, and the food was amazing. The rooms were definitely in need of some super updating and care. The AC units needs replaced completely, but luke i said thw food and staff were great.

Jolly Beach Resort is a project in the works, but for the price and location, it cannot be beat. Staff, overall were friendly, a few could use an attitude adjustment. The room was perfect for our needs, we didn't expect anything fancy and things like WiFi and outlets are often limited at original Caribbean beach-like destinations. Food was not anything extraordinary, but there were many options to choose from and no reason for one to go hungry. The location was beautiful and overall the grounds were well kept. I would recommend Jolly Beach to anyone wanting a nice, but simple stay on a beautiful beach. Thank you to the staff for an enjoyable stay!!!

Just don’t. Pay more and go somewhere else. We just returned from a weeklong stay & I find it very difficult to share anything positive except the stretch of beach in front of the property - it was absolutely beautiful. The hotel needs a massive renovation. The staff needs to be trained on Customer service. No upkeep of the grounds. Our bathroom did not even have a door instead an old shower curtain. The property honestly should be a reflected as a two star property. So disappointing. The pics in the advertisements do not reflect what you will see. Too much to list. We spent most of our time away from resort because it was so dismal & the majority of staff was one star.

The staff and the beach make this resort so special!. The resort is older and in need of some TLC, however, the beds were so comfy and we spent very little time in our room so it didn’t matter! The food was always good with good variety. The staff is sooo pleasant and friendly - always smiling and up for a fun chat! The beach is top notch. Stunning!

The property was very clean and the staff was friendly, from the bartenders to receptionists to wait-staff to maintenance. The resort is located on an awesome beach with plenty of shelters and chairs. The resort could use one more upscale restaurant to supplement the Pizza Factory

Realizing this was a 3 1/2 star resort, we were more than pleased with our weeklong stay at Jolly Beach resort. All of the staff from the front desk, Beach towel dispenser, dining room staff, bartenders, and the Coconut Grill were all extremely polite and helpful throughout the week. There was a good variety of selections at the evening buffet with a rotation of dining themes every night. Knowing this was a midrange resort the food was plentiful and good. Breakfast was always a highlight. The Pizza factory was a la carte and had some of the best pizza we have experienced- we do wish the pizza was offered as a lunch item. The menu had a variety of options so there was something for everyone and their different tastes. The lunch at the beach grill was great! A wide variety of options were all excellent. Jermaine at the Coconut grill took good care of us everyday especially the last day as we had to leave by 12:30 and she made sure we had our selected choices ready and served first in order to catch our cab on time. Karla at the front desk was especially helpful on several occasions with assisting us with a room concern and a day trip after Michelin at the excursion desk had already left for the day. John in the lobby area that assisted with luggage and greeting was also of great help. Clinton the General Mgr was always helpful and available. It’s very noticeable the efforts to bring back alive this perfectly located resort. The rooms could use additional upgrades & amenities.

I stayed at this resort with my husband from January 6-13th 2024 and it felt like I was in 1995. The resort was so outdated and the service is so far behind. Imagine changing your own bedsheets on vacation and no water being provided in your room. I never complain about my stays because I’m an easy going person but this resort deserves to hear this review. Don’t get it wrong, the beach was beautiful but the resort specifically was horrible. I do not recommend this resort to anyone.

jolly Beach Resort is an outdated property that sits on absolutely the most beautiful beach on Antigua. While it is in dire need of updating, the entire property including the rooms are are impeccably clean. I cannot say enough good things about the staff, each and everyone of them are hard-working, attentive and extremely friendly and always quick to share a smile. both pools on the property are beautiful. The large one does need a paint job. The only thing that really did bother me were the cigarette butts that people left on the beach, it's not the resorts fault. If you go in with realistic expectations, he will absolutely have a fantastic time. As soon as you see that beach she won't even care what your room looks like.

There was a beach and pool right across from each other. The food was alright. But I liked how they changed the dining options every day.

Best beach in all of Antigua, old resort being renovated but still needs work.
Food was mediocre, all buffet style
One actual restaurant but you can only book twice in a week stay, if any availability.
Only entertainment is at bar a singer
With an awesome voice but sings the same 10 songs nightly - two pools, drinks are decent. We stayed in a room with two queens it had coffee maker and mini fridge. Budget rooms don’t
Our bathroom looked like a 10 year old tried to renovate it?? All in all it’s a beautiful island and beach and very budget friendly resort. Not crowded at all and we really loved our catamaran excursion day trip around the whole island $ - not included

Overated room. My package included a queen size bed but I got a full size bed instead. Broken sliding glass door

Cheep and cheerful is the best description. It’s completely no frills but it’s clean, the beach is amazing and the food and drink are reasonable. It’s a lot cheaper than other properties in Antigua so a good choice if on a budget. Don’t expect luxury or high end accommodation or awesome service but it’s still great fun. My only gripe is the WiFi is dreadful and only available in certain areas.

I had been to Jolly Beach in 2017 before covid. It has many improvements and more coming. They have redone the buffet and long bars areas and they are beautiful. Keon was the best. He started my trip off with a great smile and sense of welcome. He also got us settled in and helped with a couple of things we needed. We were a group of eight and everyone wants to do it again. The bar staff at the pool and long bar brought nothing but smiles. The rooms still are going through some refurbishing's, but if you go there to hang out in the rooms, you are there for the wrong reason! Also who could forget how close the beach is and how wonderful it is! Thanks to everyone for a great time!

We just visited last week. We stayed 7 days and absolutely loved it. We plan on going back again next winter. The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable with amazing views. The staff is fantastic! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The beaches are gorgeous. The property is beautiful and well kept. Plenty of food and drink options. We had a great stay. Our tour guide from Antigua Inside & Out was awesome! We had some fun adventures and learned a lot about the island. Would Highly recommend Jolly Beach resort and Antigua Inside & Out. We can't wait to go back!

The draw to this place is the beach. It is long, there is plenty of room for everyone and it is beautiful blue water. The resort itself is old and dated. It is fine, and we have no major complaints about the facilities. The room was small, but we knew that going in. There was a dresser and a closet and that was adequate for storing our things. The air conditioning worked well and the ceiling fan was a bonus. The room was quite dirty at check-in and you could tell that the housekeeping, which is not done daily as it is at other resorts, really only changes beds and trash once a week. The vent fan was so dirty and disgusting that there is no way it was venting anything from the bathroom. The floor was dirty upon arrival and had not been swept or mopped. The pools were nice, though the main pool at first glance looks kind of gross, the water is clear and clean, but the bottom of the pool is stained, giving the water a weird color. The food was subpar, and honestly the biggest downside of our week there. It was often the same thing from day to day. They supposedly had theme dinners, but some nights you couldn't figure out what the theme was supposed to be. For example, one night the theme was BBQ and there wasn't a single BBQed thing on the lineup. The food is often just leftovers from the day before. For example, the asian noodles were served for three days after asian dinner night. Thankfully there is a the Coconut Grill on the beach at lunch time for a change.

I enjoyed time at Jolly Beach resort. The food could be a little better but overall I still enjoyed. The staff was very pleasant and helpful.

The property is old, outdated and not cared for. Dirty cups and food baskets were left outside on small tables around the property for days.
Our room had several issues - A/C was blasting and remote did not work, was making so much noise we couldn't hear each other speak. When they finally came to "repair" all they did was give us a remote that worked, and shut the unit off (well, off helped with the noise, but when we turned it back on, the noise continued). The A/C unit was spewing out black rubber particles from the belt. We were actually concerned the unit might go on fire. I am not exaggerating. There was a leak in the bathroom ceiling. The shower leaked badly, saturating the floor mat which needed to be wrung out - just what you want to do on vacation. Why not ask for a new mat, Oh, we did!! And we waited, and waited. Why not ask for a new room?? Ohh, you are funny! the bathroom light went out - not just a bulb issue. They came to replace the balast. They made a muddy mess on the bathroom floor (remember, the leaks). They said they would have housekeeping come. Yeah, right. We had to call for that.
The few employees who were nice were really lovely, but most were so indifferent to the guests. Food was just OK. Bar service was ok. The beach was nice.
Yes, I know, poor us. We spent a week in Antigua, boo hoo. But really, such basic things that shouldn't be, only adding to the deterioration of this hotel.
Definitely a one and done for us.

Good property , once the renovations of the rooms are complete, it will be a great one . Gardens are beautiful , the beach is great , however the permanent mushroom gazebos needs to be taken out . Food was very good too

Excellent 5-star beach and 4-star large pool. Friendly staff, for the most part, that is willing to help and serve guests. Property is old and even after renovations, still lacks basic things such as working wifi in lobby or rooms, electronic door locks and safe deposit boxes, decent bathrooms in rooms and clean bathrooms in general lobby area, some good nightly entertainment etc. For the price, it is good value but believe it has so much potential if more funding is invested in renovating it.

The Jolly Beach Resort staff was outstanding. They were so friendly and helpful. The Christmas evening buffet was amazing - the dessert bar alone was three tables long. They have upped their service since the last time we stayed here in 2018.
Rooms are a little worn but when you have such a fabulous beach you don't spend much time in the room.

They are going in the right direction for only being open for a year again. I think with time it will be great. I had a super saver room and it was fine . It could use a renovation. But the beach and staff is where this place shines. The food is very good with daily changes and no complaints there. I would recommend free room cleaning and more entertainment and late night food option. They have a great grill station by beach and maybe that could be an option after dinner hours. Had a great time and would come back.

The beach was excellent plenty of sunbeds and shades. The gardens were well kept and beautiful. The main pool needed a little attention but the quiet pool was lovely. The overall appearance of the building was good but a little tired looking. The rooms were clean but basic and also tired looking. The restaurants were good with plenty of food and local drinks. The main long bar was great and the staff friendly and helpful. The general location at Jolly Harbour was central and easy to travel to and from.
Our overall experience was a good one.

This property needs some updating but they are working on it. The room was very clean but outdated. The beach is fantastic!! The food was good and the booze was great! We booked here because it was walkable to the Jolly Harbor Marina. Would stay here again. The staff were very friendly and accommodating!!

Jolly Beach Resort definitely surpassed the very negative reviews. While I agree that aome further improvements can be made to the property itself, the resort is lovely and the beach even more so.
Every single member of staff were kind and friendly and did their best to assist in anyway they can.
For a reasonably priced all inclusive stay at Antigua, I would say give them a try.
