We loved our stay here, about a 20 minute drive beyond busy Santa Elena which I really prefer, not being in a busy tourist area. So peaceful and quiet with a jungle river a short walk down the hill. My favorite part though were our hosts Angelika and Julio who took great care of us. Such sweet people and yummy breakfast conversations overlooking the hills and beautiful gardens. And you don’t need a 4WD to get here despite what other reviews say! The road was fine, typical Costa Rican dirt road with a few bumps here and there. Take your time and enjoy the scenery!!!

We really loved the place as well as the huge garden and the small river. Angelika was super nice and showed us around the place. The place was very quiet, well lit and super clean.

Big cabin, in a Magical place, beautiful esthetic home, clean and cozy, wonderful view, romantic place, we enjoyed our staying very much, very unique staying in the nature

This place is wonderful. The garden is supervised with such love, that all birds and animals are just at your door. You have private national park in your back yard :)

The road to reach this place is little bit rough. Better to use 4 WD.

I'm so grateful to have found this place 💓. It is absolutely beautiful and the pictures on booking are not fair of how amazingly perfect it is. The garden is full of flowers, I've seen so many types of birds among them, the Manaquin, we walked at night not too far from the property following a creek that is next to the property and saw more animals than in the natural reserve of Monteverde, the host is kind, warm hearted person and we came for 1 night and ended up staying for 3 nights, I would stay longer if I didn't have to go back to my country tomorrow. The property is situated on a land where Chorotegas tribe used to live, and the host has found precolombin artifacts made of clay that he has exposed close to the common kitchen. On a more personal note, I would say that being a Nicaraguan in CR, I always experienced a lot of xenophobia, and I haven't felt anything like that here. We felt like home, welcome, finally where able to relax and without having to pay a fortune. He has a lovely family and can't recommend this place enough.

We simply loved staying at Chorotega! we had the best vibe of our vacation! So calm, relaxing, in the middle of nature! the cabin is simple but has it all. We loved the little chats with Derek (the owner) and his wife about life and nature.
