Nick was so great to work with. The house was perfectly situated on the island making it very convenient to get to everything but still felt secluded in a very quiet neighborhood. House was well stocked and well-maintained. Highly recommend!

Nick is a great host! The house was well stocked, cozy, and great location relative to shops, restaurants, and the beach. He was prompt to answer any messages and the check-in/out process is a breeze. He clearly cares about guest experience!

Hubby and I have stayed in a lot of rentals over the years but this was hands down our favorite. Everything about the home is cozy and it’s stocked better than any other place we’ve been; the laundry area, bathroom, and kitchen had everything needed. The entire space was exceptionally clean, the mattress was comfy, and the neighbor across the street was very friendly. The location is fantastic - peaceful and quiet but close to everything.
The Crab Shack is most certainly pet friendly. We arrived to find dog bowls and a cat scratching post. There’s also a pet door on the back of the house. The house has a wheelchair lift as well, and our senior 140 lb English Mastiff decided it was her express elevator! Arthritis can make steps very difficult and we have none at home, so the lift was a very pleasant surprise.
We loved staying here and would do so again without hesitation. A big thank you to our hosts for everything.

My wife and I stayed at the crab shack and it was great. The home had an open floor plan which we loved. Very clean inside and the hot tub plus the fire pit was awesome on cold nights. Was pet friendly for sure are little dog loved running around in the back yard.
Nice neighborhood and central to a lot of shops on the main road. Would stay here again for sure.

This was a great property with comfortable amenities. It was close enough to get to the beach and other attractions, but sits in a quiet neighborhood off the main drag. The beds were super comfortable which goes a LONG WAY in my book when it comes to places to stay. (I wish other VRBO hosts understood the importance of getting a good nights' sleep on vacation!) The hot tub, hammock, and fenced in yard were cherries on the cake! Our dog loved visiting the nearby Nags Head Woods and sunset on the Duck Boardwalk is not to be missed! We had a wonderful, relaxing week in this unit.

Highly enjoyed our stay for a week in August. Lovely appliance upgrades, beds are very comfortable and appreciated the extra beach chairs provided. Fantastic communication with the owner. Will definitely recommend to others!

Our family had a wonderful and relaxing OBX vacation at the "Cottage in the Pines". Everything was as listed on VRBO. The house was comfortable and clean. The owners were awesome and we could text them easily and get responses back. The front porch had a nice bench to read under the pines and the back deck with the rocking chairs was even better. Our family pet really enjoyed resting on the back deck. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a few simple meals with seafood we bought at Alvin's Seafood Market nearby. We made it to the beach everday and enjoyed our stay at your lovely home. Thank you so much.

Perfect for our long weekend getaway! Excellent communication with the owner throughout the entire process from booking to during the stay. The location is great and very close to everything we wanted to do. Highly recommend!

The Crab Shack is awesome! Everything you need is there! Comfy beds, awesome backyard, and easy beach access. We drove to the beach each day because we didn’t want to walk with our gear. We went midweek and had no trouble with parking. We would definitely stay here again!

The property was exactly as advertised. We really enjoyed the house. The neighborhood was very nice and beautiful. Definitely enjoyed the hot tub. Owner was very responsive concerning a minor issue. Would definitely consider staying here again if and when we return to the Outer Banks. Also enjoyed the outdoor equipment for grilling and roasting marshmallows.

I cannot say nicer things about our stay at the Crab Shack… the house was so clean and modern. This was my husband and my first experience using VRBO it will be the only way we book vacations from now on. The hosts Nicholas and Colleen have done a wonderful job , we are ready to book again!!!

The Crab Shack was perfect for my husband and I. You could easily have additional guest with the 2nd bedroom.
The house was as described. The location was perfect. Close to shops, restaurants and close beach access within driving distance. You could possible walk but, main road is quite busy
Outer Banks is beautiful. I would highly recommend. We will be back!

Absolutely loved this rental house. Nicholas did such a good job with this house. It is very clean and has everything you need. The back yard with the grill and hot tub was an awesome little feature. Being pet friendly was also a huge plus. We will definitely be booking again with Nicholas!!

Wife and I really enjoyed our stay here. The house was comfortable, modern, clean and had everything we needed. The fenced in yard and dog door were a huge plus for our pup as well. The outside space had great amenities like a solo stove, hot tub, comfortable seating area and a very nice grill. The property is centrally located near lots of our favorite restaurants and a short distance from beach access.Definitely recommend and will likely return in the future

What an experience everything about it was great! My daughter and I took a girls vacay and there were no complaints here just a beautiful,quite,comfortable,pet friendly oasis with a wonderful hot tub and amazing outdoor area: from the new back deck with two comfy rocking chairs, to the backyard patio with the pagoda, outdoor sectionional, electric grill, amazing hot tub, sandy area with hammock and Thomas Edison style lights everywhere under the house out of the breeze ( which I do love but it was a bit chilly when we visited so was a good place to to hide from the wind a bit)! Oh and dont forget the fire pit too! If you love the outdoors as well as having the comfort of a well equipped clean home this is definitely the place for you!Communication with Nicholas ( owner) was fantastic and very quick responses and very friendly disposition.He even helped us with looking for a local spot for crabs, but unfortunately were not in season yet. He even called a neighbor who crabs 😀, above and beyond great communication 👏 and hospitality! Not far from everything literally and it was super clean and pet friendly with a doggy door! Beach was not far at all and located in a quite friendly neighborhood it is a nice walk if you walked to the beach but plenty of public places to park close by if you would prefer to drive. The one thing I do know is we will definitely be going back and hopefully sooner then later! We came back home well rested and relaxed just what we need THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU!

For my 45th birthday, my wife brought me and our puppy, Ichabod, to the Crab Shack for a few days of rest and relaxation. Nick and Colleen have outdone themselves. The property has everything you could ask for...and more! So many amenities and the house is super clean. Very responsive with communications and absolute super hosts. Cannot wait to come back! Thank you 😊
