About this condo rental

Located in Plymouth, this charming condo for $109 per night is a great choice for your next vacation. Whether you're exploring the mountains, touring campus, or just passing through — if you’re looking for something with character, this charming side-by-side duplex has it. A wooded hill provides a little peace and privacy, but with just a 3-minute walk you can get to the Flying Monkey Theater, PSU campus, or Main Street. Rec room has a foosball table and arcade machine, or the futon can be folded down to use as a fourth bedroom. Fast wifi, reserved parking, full kitchen, and rustic charm. Please understand that winter weather is a natural part of New England’s White Mountains, and take appropriate caution accordingly. We hire a plow service for the driveway, and we shovel & salt the steps during turnovers, but we are not able to eliminate the snow and ice entirely every day. Four of us (me, my wife, my mom, and my sister) are set up to receive messages, so someone is usually able to answer reasonably quickly. So far we haven't had any property emergencies come up, but we live down in Concord, about 45 minutes away, if something does happen. Plymouth is known as "The Gateway to the White Mountains". Situated just between the Granite State's two major tourism destinations -- White Mountain National Forest to the North (where the Appalachian Mountains cross through New Hampshire), and the Lakes Region to the South -- opportunities for outdoor recreation abound year-round. Thanks in part to Plymouth State University, this vibrant town is the cultural and economic hub of the region. Small enough to maintain that classic New England charm (including a classic covered bridge), Plymouth still has everything you'd need (the next Walmart north is 45 minutes away, on the other side of the mountains). Our duplex is just on the edge of downtown, a couple blocks southwest of campus and a couple blocks southeast of Plymouth Town Commons. You can walk a hundred yards or so downhill over public land to get straight to the heart of downtown Main Street -- live music, restaurants, shops, nightlife, and more. You have this entire unit, plus a small private deck, to yourself. The duplex’s other side is rented separately, and you share one wall (don't worry -- nobody is above or below you). The driveway is shared, but your unit has six reserved parking spaces. We call 2 of them “standard”, but are a bit larger than normal — they’re long enough a trailer would fit, although you’d have to confirm the turning radius would work. We can 4 of them “compact” because they’re along the side of the drive. I can fit in them with a mid-size SUV just fine, but it requires parking pretty close to the fence so you don’t block the drive. Please note that there although there is a small yard area outside each side, there isn’t a fence marking a clear dividing line, and if cleaning or maintenance team members are working in the other side of the duplex and need to access the basement (which does not have guest access), they go through a bulkhead near your deck. This spacious duplex is as "Plymouth" as it gets. Built in 1857, this classic New England building has been expanded and upgraded countless times on its journey to be an AirBnB. It may be a little nicer than when it was a student rental, but between the awesome location and charming decorations, it still manages to maintain the local character. The building is a side-by-side duplex, so you share one wall with the other unit, but you don't have to worry about anyone above or below you. Leave your car in one of six off-street parking spaces reserved for you (two full size spaces and four compact car spaces), and as you step through the front door into the entryway, notice the White Mountains trail maps on the wall so you can plan your next adventure. Hang your coat, leave your boots in the shoe-dryer, and stash your skies in the custom storage space under the stairs. Climbing the stairs to your right will take you to the two large upstairs bedrooms, or continuing left down the hall will reveal the rest of the unit. Of course, each of the three unit's three bedrooms has a queen bed, TV with Roku, alarm clock with bluetooth speaker and white noise machine built in, and all the furniture you'd expect. But when you head upstairs, you'll notice both upstairs bedrooms also include step-in closets, so storing all your gear will be easy. If you have to check in with the office, don't worry. Our building has a mesh wifi network, which uses three routers spread throughout to avoid dead zones, powered by Spectrum's 300 mbps high-speed internet package. You can comfortably sit in the ergonomic chair at the desk in the back upstairs bedroom, use the provided printer/scanner, and gaze out the window at the distant mountaintops to distract yourself from spreadsheets. If you head back downstairs, you'll quickly come across the third bedroom, which includes an Energy Star ultra-high-capacity laundry center that you're welcome to use for those socks you hiked in earlier. This bedroom's TV also has a 2-player Sega Genesis Emulator video game hooked up to it, fully loaded with games. Keep going and you'll step into the living room, which has plenty of seating for the whole family. Between a variety of books, and a large collection of board games, nobody will complain about being bored if you get rained in. Watch live Roku TV, or use the hdmi cable to connect your own device, so it's easy to curl up for a movie. Just to the left of the living room is the rec room. If you brought a bigger group, simply fold down the futon, close the door, and use it as a fourth bedroom. Otherwise, this is a great space to play! It's got a foosball table, dumbbell set for weightlifting, and even a free arcade machine! This Atari Legacy can play Akka Arrh, Asteroids, Asteroids Deluxe, Centipede, Crystal Castles, Gravitar, Liberator, Major Havoc, Millipede, Missile Command, Space Duel, and Tempest. Heading the other direction across the living room you'll find the bathroom. Fairly standard -- toilet, shower, sink, basically what you'd expect. One notable feature is the cedar-lined walls not only keep microbes down, but they also mean that you'll be greeted by a pleasant woodsy smell every morning. Then the dine-in kitchen comes next. Sure, you’ll probably mostly dine out — there’s over a dozen restaurants in comfortable walking distance. But if you eat in, you've got all the normal equipment and implements you'd expect at home, including a dishwasher. Just past the kitchen is the back door, which takes you out onto a small deck with a grill. I'd recommend drinking your morning coffee at the bistro set, overlooking the yard. In the summer the trees are covered in leaves and you have your own little haven in the woods, while in the winter you can see some of Main Street down the hill and mountaintops in the distance. No matter the season, you shouldn't have any trouble keeping yourself comfortable. Adjust the thermostats however you see fit to control the baseboard radiators -- each level has its own zone. The provided space heaters can amp up heat even more if your group has a wide range of preferences. Or if you're trying to cool things down, the provided window ACs make quick work of the summer sun, and portable fans can keep a breeze on you anywhere in the unit. Regardless of season, the humidifier help keep the indoor climate just right. A little under a mile from the interstate, this is a convenient launching point for adventures nearby, or an easy rest stop for weary travelers. ->Reserved off-street parking: 2 large parking spaces, plus 4 compact spaces. ->5 minute walk (point two miles) from the bus stop. ->Rideshare companies can reliably get you here, but may have longer waits for getting picked up. ->Comfortably walk anywhere in downtown Plymouth.

Incredibly comfortable, clean and so well run. This is the perfect spot to stay when visiting Plymouth. Can't say enough good things about it. We have booked this unit as well as the unit beside it and both times have been extremely happy with the accommodations. 5 stars all the way.
