The Space: Fig Tree Cottage is nestled in a special area of the property, surrounded by mature trees and offering breathtaking views of the mountain range beyond. Located in the rural locality of Darlington, Australia—in the foothills of Cedar Glen, close to Darlington Park, Purling Brook Falls Springbrook National Park, Elabana Falls, The Hive Darlington, Kamarun Lookout, and an hour's drive to Palm Beach Gold Coast. A comfortable accommodation with a queen-sized bed in the loft and a couch that can be converted into a double bed on the ground floor. It has easy access to water, split air conditioning, a kitchenette, cooking equipment, and excellent bathroom facilities. The bathroom, however, follows ecologically sustainable principles, including a cassette toilet with a removable waste-holding tank, hand basin, and shower (gas heated for hot showers) for you to use. If you plan to spend your farm stay QLD getaways here, we advise that you bring your basic necessities such as food and water during your stay with us. Thank you! IMPORTANT NOTE: Please advise that there will be some farm animal and agricultural noise at various times of the day during your stay with us. Guest Access: Guests will have access to the tiny house and the large area of the farm, including the Albert River, which runs through the property. Guests will have restricted access to animal paddocks/enclosures for the safety of both guests and farm animals. If you want to visit, please contact your land host at least 48 hrs before arrival to make arrangements for the daily animal feeding with cost of $20 for adults $15 for kids. Where you can explore bushwalking trails in National Forest, restaurants, and other attractions. Our local recommendations: - Beaudesert has all major supermarkets, fast-food chains, local cafes, and bakeries. - The Hive Darlington serves great coffee, homemade food, cold pressed juices, and takeaways in town. - The Vue Restaurant is located on the scenic Capricorn Coast and offers a relaxed and modern atmosphere. - Elabana Falls and Moorans Falls are set in beautiful sub-tropical forests with bushwalking trails and panoramic views. - Kamarun Lookout is ideal for picnic spots and offers spectacular views of rolling hills, rugged peaks, and patchwork valleys. - Springbrook and Lamington National Park Walks have some of most stunning rainforests, brooks, and waterfalls in Queensland. Getting Around: By car: - 94 km drive to/from Brisbane Airport - 50 km drive to/from the Gold Coast Overall, its a 90 min drive from either Brisbane or the Gold Coast. By public transport: We recommend guests to travel by private car as there is no public transport close to us. The nearest town is Beaudesert which is 30km or 30 min drive of the property. Other Things to Note: - Good mobile reception for Telstra - No smoking allowed on the property - No unregistered guests or visitors are allowed - We would like to advise guests that longer stays or later check-outs will incur an additional charge Pre-arranged activities - Animal encounters (subject to availability) start at 4:30 PM and cost $20 for adults and $15 for kids, where you can feed our sheep, cows, alpacas, chickens, a miniature horse, and camels. Farm guidelines - It is advised that guests dress comfortably when exploring the property - Before engaging in agricultural activities, guests are advised to follow the safety guidelines discussed with the land host - We have free-roaming friendly farm dogs. (We have more than 3 dogs on the property and the number depends on how many of the 4 owners are there. All dogs are friendly and no risk to guests). Important note: - Due to the nature of the property, abundant wildlife may be present on the property - In order to maintain the cleanliness and functionality of our cassette toilets a minimum additional cleaning fee is applied for stays of 5 nights or more.
