Hilltop Hideaway is a unique getaway you won’t soon forget. Secluded, yet close to town, this impressive home was designed by Rob Quigley, San Diego’s finest & best-known contemporary architect. Interesting angles, abundant natural light, and stunning ocean views delight the guests who visit here. This architecturally interesting property has quite a unique layout. The many levels of this home rise up to greet you in an intriguing arrangement. The tranquil waterfall welcomes you upon arrival. The main living space is designed to capture the best spot to view the Pacific Ocean and observe the gorgeous natural views where you may spot a peregrine falcon or owl! The Twin Guest room is located on the next level above the kitchen and has a private, ensuite bathroom. The master suite encompasses the top living area with a spa like bathroom boasting a soaking tub, generous sized shower, dual sinks and a private water closet. There are two bedrooms on the lower levels, one with a queen bed and ocean view and the other with Queen and desk area, each with their own bathroom. Each room has its own heating/air conditioning unit. The home is stocked with beach gear, and two washer/dryer sets. The outdoor deck off the dining area is cozied up to the sandstone cliffs and offers a wonderfully private spot to take in the view, The gas firepit keeps you warm at night! Quality materials are found throughout this contemporary oasis, including Brazilian hardwood flooring, luxury kitchen appliances, custom windows and gorgeous landscaping. Guests will have use of the entire space with the exception of the garage. There is a completley separate guest house on the property (The Tower) that may or may not have guests residing during your stay. It is not in your sight line and feels more like a neighbor next door. The Tower is a completely separate builiding and doe not have any shared spaces. It is available for rent if you need to accommodate a larger group. I am readily available by text and phone. I live nearby if needed. This home is just a 6 minute drive to Torrey Pines State Beach, and a 3 minute drive or 12 minute walk to Bird Rock Coffee, Seasalt Del Mar, West End Bar & Kitchen and Trattoria Ponte Vecchio among other local shops. A 10 minute drive will take you to Del Mar Village Please note: This home has A LOT of stairs. There are stairs to access all aspects of the interior and exterior of the home and property. We welcome families with children but stress that children must be under parental supervision at all times. The home is not "baby proofed" so it is imperative that your eyes are on your young ones all the time. The home sleeps 8 adults (2 additional guests would be in pack-n-play, air mattress or couch). There is an additional dwelling located on the property (see main exterior photos). It is a completely separate unit available for rent. If you have a larger group and wish to book both units, please send us an inquiry! There is also a separate listing for this additional one bedroom guest cottage. The units do not share any common spaces, and cannot be seen from the main home. Both spaces are completely separate for guest privacy (including parking). We have security cameras on the driveway and entrance gate. Fyi, there no cameras in the home or outdoor patio. VRBO bookings which are cancelled (within the cancellation period) are not eligible for the credit card processing fee refund. This fee is kept by Stripe.
