Great little stopover. Simple room, but ideal location for getting around in Mackinac City and to the ferry to go across to Mackinaw Island. Could leave our vehicle right at the VRBO and walk everywhere.

The property is a motel immediately behind the downtown area of mackinaw city. It is a VERY short walk to all the shopping and amenities you want, and was worth every penny. It is a block and a half from the shepler's ferry dock, so keep that in mind when picking your ferry if you plan to visit the island. The owner/operator is very responsive and we had a wonderful time. The beds were comfortable, and the heat AND A/C Work well.

I think this property owner has a few other places in town. When I looked online I was the same picture for a few other properties. The geo code puts you in the middle of the street. Over all the room was really nice and the property was well kept. The tv was small compared to most hotel rooms I have been it but it was not to bad. All in all if I had to I would not mind staying there again.

My husband and I checked in and immediately notice the TV was not working. Maintenance was unable to repair. The shower only allowed for 1 person to have a hot shower. Then the water was cold. The faucet handle was not working on the sink. The house keeper told us she has reported issues with no response and has stopped submitting issues. The location is fantastic! Very close to ferry and walking distance to shops etc. I would never stay again based on the above issues.

I used to be a VRBO host and there is no way that this listing is acceptable. It calls itself a "Boutique" Inn. It isn't even named "Apple Inn". It is a very old Motel that is in disrepair. They have redone the rooms to some extent, but there is mold in the shower tile and we didn't want to walk on the rugs without shoes. The office has a sign lit up as if someone is there, but no one ever comes. The door was ajar and there were loads of dirty linens stacked up everywhere. There is no one on site, no letter of greeting, etc. We were grateful to be able to bring our dog, but otherwise would have probably demanded a refund and found an alternative, because there were cute, clean small motels with vacancies nearby. They wrote about the room online as if it were "special", etc. But it is just one of 5 or so motel rooms. The location of this motel is wonderful-close to everything. It saddens me that someone doesn't buy it and turn it into a sweet little retreat. You can always tell when an owner does or doesn't care about their property. And if they don't care about it and are just making money in spite of it all because of it's location, that's up to them, but then the listing needs to be clear and honest. Instead, it was very misleading. That's what we took issue with. I will end with something positive. Housekeeping (which only comes before you stay) does know how to make a nice bed. I don't like to leave negative reviews and think long and hard before I am this honest.

It was a nice quiet little room just right for our overnight visit! Very close to downtown, all of the shopping and the ferry! We only had a couple of small complaints. When you first pull up looks can be deceiving because the outside appears very run down but the inside is very nice and recently remodeled! The only other complaints was the little blue light that flashed constantly from the Wi-Fi so we had to throw a pillow over it when we went to bed!

I booked 2 nights at the ‘Apple Blossom’ only to pull up to a run down motel called ‘Welcome Inn’. Very misleading. Checked for bed bugs right away and found dead bed bugs and bed bug debris in between the mattresses, along with a blood stain on the mattress. Explained the situation to the property manager immediately via VRBO message, as there is no personnel on site. She said I could not have a refund and that was the end of the conversation. There was no way I could stay there with my daughter. I left and booked a room at the Holiday Inn Express. Do not stay here. It is completely disgusting, dirty and the property manager does not care about its guests.

It’s close to everything. It has been updated a bit. Good size rooms. There was an issue with the water faucet and they sent maintenance in less than 30 minutes. The housekeeper was very nice. We would definitely stay there again.
