Terrible communication from the management team. I was never given information on how to access the primary building and had to drive back out to the main road to get cell service in order to call/text the owners. No response for over two hours. Once I was able to get in, the place was clean but neglected; there were dead ladybugs all over the room and the fire alarm was beeping in need of a new battery. Not the worst things in the world but definitely not worth the $220/night price tag. My advice: drive the extra 25 minutes and stay in Lexington OR if you’re looking for more of an experience try The Graham Ordinary in Bedford, VA (it’s unreal).

It was just as described. Cozy, intimate and romantic.
It would have been nice if the fireplace was in working condition. Also, several website need to be updated because they show the on-site restaurant as still in operation when it is not. Was a bit of a disappointment to arrive on a Sunday night and have nowhere nearby to eat other than fast food options or making the trek into Lexington. However, for what you are paying the cost is perfect and the atmosphere is nice and secure.
When you stay in the cabin you are literally right on the edge of the road-- every big vehicle that comes by you will hear and even the big rigs might shake the place a bit, but after a while this gets a bit relaxing and with the blackout curtains pulled, can be almost even soothing white noise.
I was here to decompress a bit before a hard work week. Will have to come back with my partner and experience it as a proper 'second honeymoon' getaway.

More rustic than I expected. Room was clean, bed comfortable, no hot water, no grab bar in shower. Poor cell service, no way to contact staff with questions. Sign for the place had no lighting, hard to find on a dark rainy night.

Everything was just fine

This is in a beautiful spot and the cabin was clean with a very comfortable bed. However, at this time (summer 2023) the property is on the market and it's being run more like an airbnb with no one at all on site. It felt abandoned when we pulled in to an empty parking lot. There's an overgrown vegetable garden out back that must have been beautiful once. The first floor of the mill once held a restaurant but is empty now. Note that this is out in the country: The wifi couldn't handle the tv's streaming services. I had to text twice to ask for the wifi password (not left in the room) and it didn't work great once I did get on. Be sure to bring your own shampoo. Lexington is about 25 minute away and has great restaurants and is fun to walk around. I bet the Osceola Mill was amazing in its heyday and hope just the right people discover it and bring it back to life.

Self checkin. No food, no people. Had to text property manager for internet password. Room was clean and comfortable but the grounds are in disarray. Coffee maker in common area didn’t work. Not impressed.

Very nice historic little cabin for couples with a built for 2 jacuzzi! The countryside is pretty and historic. The little stream has chairs, the mill interesting. A 'good for your soul' kind of place.
Fridge, coffee maker and Kerrig cups, microwave. Bed comfortable, clean sheets, clean mini bathroom with shower.

Charming, quiet, lovely location!

When my husband and I first booked, we were hesitant. As our normal place to stay would be a modern environment. BUT this place was everything we needed. A perfect getaway with excellent service, handmade & warming breakfast. A huge recommendation, we were happy to support this small bed and breakfast.

A gem of a place. Our family stayed in the cabin and two of the rooms in the mill. The rooms each had their own decorative personality. Everything was clean, crisp and just plain beautiful. Sandra, the owner was on site and was a lovely person and very accommodating. We recommend Osceola Mill and would absolutely stay here again.

It is in a historic mill. Kevin is very knowledgeable about the area and made good recommendations for sight-seeing and eating out. The food there (breakfasts, dinner) was very, very good.

Food excellent. Wonderful setting.

There is no lobby. You walk into the restaurant. Our room was a ladder away from the dining room/restaurant. Yes, a ladder. I have mobility problems but can handle a flight of stairs. This was scary as the ladder was steep and had virtually no rails. I had to try to grip onto the walls and a picture frame. I sweat bullets each time I ascended/descended. There was no cell reception, no WIFI. The breakfast was awful - an omelette w/one egg which was overcooked and the veggies were undercooked. No frills, just one slice of white bread. It was not worth the ~$150. The room was not quaint. It seemed like garage sale purchases with mismatched designs that were hard on the eyes. How this place was rated so highly is beyond me. Plus, the owner, Kevin, talks your ear off. And he's rather politically conservative so it was all very much a downer experience.

Charming property! Host was delightful and very helpful! Being "off the grid" was a little tricky at first, but we enjoyed the experience once we got use to the idea.

Lovely setting. Exceptional hospitality. Delicious breakfast. A wonderful step back into simpler times. The owner even built us a camp fire to relax next to in the evening.

The history of the entire place. For its age it was very well maintained and fascinating. The room was delightful, the food delicious and the staff wonderful.

Great little B&B. Beautiful property from 1812. If you need internet access this is not your place. There is no cell service at this location. The owner was very personable we talked with him quite a bit after dinner. Owner will prepare dinner for you as well for a fee in addition to the bed and breakfast amount. He prepared a steak and lobster tail for me and crab stuffed shrimp for my husband. You also get a complimentary glass of wine when you arrive!

The Osceola Mill B&B is a quaint and charming bed and breakfast about 10 minutes off I-81. The room was clean and charmingly furnished. The host, Kevin, was extremely gracious and prepared an amazing hot breakfast in the morning.
I'd have given this place the highest rating if it only had wi-fi or at least cellular service. Unfortunately its location is in a cellular dead zone and even Verizon phone service wasn't available there. Also, several of the rooms were on the second floor and the staircase was rather steep and narrow.
However if these considerations don't deter you, I can heartily recommend the Osceola Mill.

I discovered the Osceola Mill online while looking for a place to spend a night while traveling down I-81. Short drive off the highway. It was a very neat experience to stay at this converted mill: very peaceful and quiet. The owner, Kevin, is incredibly friendly and made a wonderful breakfast. Will definitely be coming back when I make similar trips. Highly recommend to others!
