About this house rental
Main River Paradise is a 1432 sq ft house with 3 bedrooms (upstairs), 1 and 1/2 bath, home right on the Weeki Wachee River and around the corner from hospital hole. Prime location! This home has an oversized screened in porch just steps from jumping in, launching kayaks or taking off on your boat. This porch area has a table that sits 6 and also 2 couches with 2 chairs. Do some early morning yoga or just enjoy the beauty of the river as manatees, otters, and all types of fish swim by. If you're lucky you just might see Chip the dolphin as you enjoy your morning coffee. You can't ask for a better place to people watch. This area tends to be the favorite spot of past guests who spend hours enjoying the river, nature preserve and all it has to offer while they grill out. Paddle up river to find the preserve untouched and just amazing, If you take an early morning kayak trip you just might see the deer crossing the river. You can also paddle to Rogers Park and stop at Upper Deck for lunch. If you are adventurous, you can explore old Florida which is where the Weeki Wachee River and Mud River join. Bringing your boat? You'll have access to the boat ramp at Roger's Park not far from the house. We have 2 docks that can accommodate 2 boats which is perfect for scallop season or just a fun filled weekend. You'll have access to -8 kayaks, vests, and paddles -Gas grill -Outdoor games (cornhole and janga) -Washer and dryer The surrounding area has so much to offer, Njoy Spirits Distitary, Pine Island (beautiful sunsets), Bayport Pier (good fishing), Linder Pendersen Park (great lookout tower) are some of many. You'll be 56 miles from Bush Gardens, Tampa Airport and downtown Tampa, Florida. Disney World in Orlando is 91 miles away. Lego Land in Winter Haven, FL is 69 miles away. If you're looking for closer trips enjoy Crystal River downtown area, Tarpon Springs Sponge Docks, Clearwater Beach, and Dunedin downtown or Honeymoon Island for breath taken beaches. Things to Consider when searching other locations! 1. Is the home directly on the main Weeki Wachee River? if not, the canals can be murky. 2. Is there a screen room for everyone to enjoy protecting you from yellow fly season and no-see-ums? 3. Are the Owners committed to your perfect visit and great experience? When choosing a vacation for your friends and family, please consider the above questions. As with any home on the water there's no lifeguard on duty and you will be swimming, kayaking, and boating at your own risk. FYI - This home is not a party house. Neither the Owners or the Neighbors will allow excessive visitors or noisy partying.

the main river mermaid house truly made our trip! the location is perfection, we spent hours outside on the docks watching manatees swim by and enjoying the river, it has a huge spacious lanai that we never wanted to leave, there’s a perfect fire pit for nighttime hangs, lots of space inside with great amenities and the host was wonderful and easy to communicate with! if i could rate this higher than 5 stars i would! we will definitely be going back to the main river mermaid ASAP!

Main River Mermaid was the perfect home for my husband, teenagers, dog and myself to relax. It was beautiful, the perfect amount of space for us, with renovations throughout the property. We enjoyed our mornings on the back porch, our afternoons on the deck or kayaking the river and the evenings next to the fire pit. The kitchen was nicely stock with pots, pans, etc so we cooked some or would go to one of the local restaurants for dinner. We took advantage of the washer/dryer. It was nice to be able to pack light and just do laundry as needed.
The hostess, Karen, was very attentive and friendly. The neighbors were also very nice and welcoming. We can’t wait to be back again to make more family memories.

This place was super nice! Huge screened porch overlooking the crystal clear waters of River! We enjoyed all the kayaks that come w this home and spent the day playing on the water. Nice clean comfy home !!

This property is perfectly nestled along the main part of the river, just around the corner from hospital hole. Great dock and porch area. Our children really enjoyed the rope swing ( I think that made the trip for them). We saw manatees every day both in the morning as they made their way up river and in the afternoons as they made their way back down.

We have rented houses in the past off of Weeki Watchee Springs. I must say this house hands down was the best! Clean and comfortable. Fully stocked. Beds were all very comfortable. Thank you Summer for everything and John for opening your home to us. We look forward to staying again in the future.

We loved our stay, we did notice dog hair on one of the beds and on flooring. I was glad I was able to address Management on this issue. Other then that we really loved our stay, people that were supposed to come in after we left canceled, management notified us and we quickly took the offer since we didn’t want to leave. Thank you Summer for everything and for the quick response.

Had another great stay at the mermaid lounge!
My kids love the rope swing and I love sitting on the porch swing on the dock. Such a great location on the main river right around the turn from hospital hole. Saw tons of fish, beautiful birds and manatee.
The property manager, Summer, was super helpful and responsive.
Having 5 kayaks to use is also really nice!
House is stocked well and the 3 king beds are comfortable with nice linens.

This location is perfect. With the sand at the bottom of the river you can clearly see all of the manatees as they pass by and we saw a lot!

We absolutely loved everything about the house and the river. The location was picture perfect, right on the main river and so close to hospital hole and rogers park. We saw quite a few manatees, some even from the dock! The house was cozy, the beds were very comfortable, the AC worked great, and the screened in porch was amazing to have. We spent most of our time out there while not on the river. Highly recommend to anyone!

I didn't know a place like this existed in Florida. It was beautiful. Having the river in your back yard, plus the preserve. Really something special. We'll definitely be back!!

We really enjoyed our stay at John's place. We loved the location, right on the river with hospital hole around the corner. The covered swing and rope swing were well used. The huge deck was awesome, watching the paddlers, boaters and occasional manatee cruise by. It was nice having 3 king sized beds. Thanks John for being so accommodating with the late additional pup.

This is our 2nd time staying at this property. We loved it just as much as the first time. Location is excellent and the water depth is perfect for swinging into the river. Our kids spent hours jumping off of the docks. The property manager is super helpful and always available and f needed. Property is clean and well kept. We can’t wait to come back.

My family really enjoyed our stay at this property. It’s conveniently located mid river so we were able to paddle up stream to the park and downstream to the gulf. A short drive to restaurants and stores. It’s located in a quiet neighborhood surrounded by nature. A great escape to be able to relax and enjoy the beauty of Florida. House was clean and hosts were very accommodating.

I will be coming here again - amazing place. Lots of manatees and the river is spectacular. Best views, great place if you want to kayak and swim, and just around the corner from Hospital Hole. Inside is cozy and spacious; awesome patio space for hanging out. Deck view is the best.

We really enjoyed this visit! You cannot top this location, so close to Hospital Hole- we saw tons of manatees. The back porch & decks are amazing & the house is very comfortable. Super grateful to be able to bring our furry family members as well. I've never stayed a better stocked rental, toilet paper to tissues! The property manager, Summer, was immediately responsive to our questions. We will be back, for sure!

We couldn't be happier with our stay at Weeki Wachee! Within 30 minutes of walking through the front door, two manatees went past the back deck! The home was perfectly appointed with comfortable beds in spacious rooms. We were able to relax on the couch and watch movies in the evening, go in to town for dinners, or cook meals with everything supplied in the house. We even completed a puzzle from the cabinet! Summer was so helpful and responsive - not to mention kind! But best of all was HANDS DOWN, location, location, location! Being just 3 houses upstream from Hospital Hole meant that we were a short and easy kayak from the most amazing and mind-blowing experience of seeing those gorgeous manatees every day of our stay. This visit is something we will remember for a lifetime, and we hope to come back again!

Enjoyed this house so much!!! The outside screen porch gives a beautiful outdoor living space. The location on the river gave hours of friendship time just watching people and manatees go by.
Easy steps to launch SUPs. Rope swing was perfect for cannonball contests (and we were all over 55)! Clean, great beds, comfortable. We ALL want to come back!!!

As others have said, the rope swing was tremendous fun for our whole family. The water really is deep right off the dock. I measure 7-8 feet depending on the tide. The neighbors are friendly and their little dog got along with our dog perfectly. Summer, who is the rental manager, is nice and accommodating. She was always pleasant when we saw her. I highly recommend staying here and we will be back in the future.

A great location! You can use the kayaks that are supplied at the house and launch at Weeki Wachi park. $6 per person and end up right back at the house. Just need 2 vehicles one to tranfer the kayaks and one to leave at the house to pick up the vehicle left at the park after launching.

This was our second visit to Johns property and it once again did not disappoint. The house is perfect in terms of location and amenities. As it is based directly on the river we could sit on the deck and watch the manatees and other wildlife with a coffee or beer. We throughly enjoyed having use of the kayaks as well. The house has everything you could need including kitchen equipment, water toys, towels and bedding. It really is the most relaxing place to spend a few days. Thank you once again, we hope to return before too long.

We go every summer to weeki wachee and have stayed at many different places and this place doesn't disappoint! The rope swing was so much fun! Location was perfect. We brought our jet ski and it took about 10 minutes to get to the gulf. King size beds were definitely a plus and very comfortable except for the bedroom across from the bathroom. Check in was easy and Summer was always a text away! Overall we had a great time and will be back!

We love this property and location. It’s right on the river. We watched manatees, birds, and fish right off the dock every day. It was so easy to go paddle boarding and kayaking every day. The beds are very comfortable and everything you need is provided. We will be back.

This is our 3rd time staying at this property and we love it. The location, amenities, and experience is outstanding. The house is terrific and our kids absolutely love the rope swing. Peaceful and serene especially first thing isn’t he morning and in the evening sitting on the dock. Love this house.
