You have to walk down a little path and up quite a few steps to reach this magnificent house but it is worth the effort as you are rewarded by breath-taking views and a very special location. The villa has been recently renovated to a high standard and the owners have lovingly created a home full of tradition with contemporary touches. The comfortable living-dining room is ideal for families to spend time playing games or watching films on cooler evenings and there is a well equipped kitchen for cooking up a feast. The house is decorated with antiques and beautiful pieces of art, reflecting the ambience and history of Deia. There are three bedrooms over the top two floors, and two very modern bathrooms. The top bedroom, ‘the tower’, is a light and spacious space with four shuttered windows overlooking the mountains. Rooms are decorated with simplicity and style with white washed walls, beamed ceilings and antique furniture. Step out of the dining area to the first of two terraces, perfect for al-fresco dining under the large olive tree, gazing at the mountain view. Steps lead down to a lower terrace with sunloungers, a palm and almond tree and a refreshing plunge pool for guests to enjoy in the warm summer months. Deia is an idyllic village on the west coast of Mallorca, perched high up with stunning views down to the crystal clear seas. Cala Deia is a beautiful sheltered pebble cove, a thirty minute steep walk downhill from the village (or a five minutes drive) where you will find a superb rustic seafood restaurant overlooking the sea. If you hire a car you can discover the beautiful island of Mallorca, especially the north-west corner which is a world away from some of the more touristy resorts on the island.  The pretty town of Soller is a dramatic 10km drive away, here you can enjoy the ambience with a glass of wine on the town square with the Sant Bartomeu church or find one of the many walking paths, such as those to the picturesque villages of Biniaraix and Fornalutx. The beautiful city of Palma is yours to discover and what better way to travel there than via the 1912 wood panelled train that takes you through the orange and lemon groves for the 28km journey from Soller to Palma.
