Enjoyable visit to this “quirky” hotel. Great meal in the Thai restaurant. Loved the room, although a little bit dark!

Very clean room, bizarrely no kettle etc ... we ate in the thai restaurant and that was lovely. Breakfast however was a shambles...

Could be an amazing place but poor service lets it down. Drinks and food very overpriced, although the food we had was good. Have always wanted to visit but have been left a little disappointed.

First impression, as one would expect are wow however once you have gotten over the shock of the interiors, you find tired furniture, dusty and dirty surfaces, lamp shades, dimmer switches that dont work, phones that dont work, sofas covered in cheap throws, 'gold taps' that are no longer gold, curtains held on by the skin of their teeth. No hospitality trays in detached accommodation buildings so no room service offered.. you have to go to the bar etc. I only wish I had visited 10 years ago.

If you haven’t been before it is a really comfortable hotel. Service is great and the rooms are all individually designed and are very comfy. Pillows and bed were lovely. Car parking is free and a short walk from the hotel. Our only grumble was that the breakfast that was included was rather basic and we had a long wait on the second day, and not able to offer anything but natural yoghurt despite showing Greek and a coconut option. Small details but for a 5 star hotel this shouldn’t be an issue.
The different rooms with North African themed comforts were a great place to enjoy a post dinner drink.
We are in the English Restaurant one night and informed them it was our 25th anniversary, but no acknowledgement or a congrats, the receptionist noted our celebration and assured us the restaurant knew, however this wasn’t the case. Only a small detail, but an important one for us. It is the little things that go a long way. The lady that helped us connect to the tv cast on both days was fab!
Overall a worthwhile visit and intriguing place to stay. The toilets are bizarre and wonderful all at once. Didn’t try the pool as this is ambient temperature and the weather wasn’t the best.
If you can stretch to a suite with copper bath in room do so. It is great!
Only grumble was breakfast and the lack of acknowledgement of our silver wedding anniversary.
Beaconsfield is a great location. Several local restaurants for lunch or dinner to choose from.

It was amazing

The room was amazing. The food was amazing. The food service was 5+ star. The hotel is genuinely one (well two of a kind). Docked a star because food and drink a little overpriced. Too long to wait (20 mins) mins for (amazing) cocktails on busy Saturday eve. Slight lack of attention to detail. Broken glass on feature table. One of many light bulbs gone. I'm being picky given the total price paid. Would probably return. One day.

We booked suit but the first room checked in the fireplace wouldn’t work, light switch wouldn’t work so we asked the hotel to change us to another suit which everything seems fine. Hotel room is very nice, as I expected for the price. The cocktail at the bar was average skill but charged premium price plus service charge which I thought was over priced for what we got. We didn’t have dinner at the hotel because the mixed reviews over internet so we’ve booked French restaurant up the road which was brilliant. Overall the experience was good. I may try the other crazy bear venues next time.

Good hotel with very comfortable yet salubrious rooms.
Poor experience in the Thai restaurant and upon check out staff where not very helpful.

Nice hotel with a uniqueness aimed at a sexy night away. Everything is posh looking and luxery feel with a nuce bar and good food. Rooms are dark, and it was hard to even brighten it up for when you wanted to iron or pack up to leave, felt like doing everything in the dark. Shower looked great but was usless. Even though paid for breakfast in advance didnt inckude cooled breakfast and had tonpay extra.

Bougie AF, a little dark, would have been nice to have an option for brighter light so my partner could do her make up, but apart from that it was fantastic

Amazing hotel, the decor is fabulous, the was only one thing it is not a spa Hotel the pool and Jacuzzi are outside and freezing cold

The room was stunning! But for that price i would expect a kettle and tea and coffee facilities in the room. Also a curtain for the bathroom wasnt pleasant when the bed is directly next to bathroom. I would say its overpriced by a long way!

Everything was really great, there were some noisey

The hotel is beautiful our bedroom was on main road and there were some cobwebs above the shower. Also there was an air freshener that was so so strong and I didn’t live the smell. I can see the appeal and I knew when booking the rooms looked dark but I think I prefer more modern. The staff were lovely, restaurant was very nice and even when we thought we missed breakfast staff were very accommodating. Definitely happy to experience the hotel.

The hotel is extremely unique and the décor is great. You can see the attention and investment, and I'm sure it's a lovely experience in the right room.
However, our room was very expensive (£250 pn) and was very small. The listing said Queen bed, it was a double.
The bathroom was right by the bed's headboard, which didn't even have a bathroom door (it was a curtain)! Then to wash your hands you need to walk around the bed to the other side of the bed after using the bathroom - awks. There was minimal walking space around the bed too (less than shoulder breadth).
The room was super dark and we had to use our phone torches to see in half of it (yes the light was on) but I appreciate that is partly due to the atmosphere of the room.
Parking is terrible and should be more obviously stated - it's a free for all!
Food and drink was good but pricey, as expected.
The outside pool was lovely and so was the afternoon tea.
Overall I'm sure this is a great place to stay, but in the right room for the right price - which this wasn't. We would recommend waiting for one of the better rooms or paying half what we did.

Over priced for what you get. Decor was over the top and the room was tiny! We paid for a deluxe double room and really the room is the same as a standard room. Tiny wardrobe and poor shower. Nothing romantic about the place instead rather seedy and cheesy.

Lovely hotel and friendly staff. Definitely stay again.

We stayed at The Crazy bear for our wedding night.
On arrival the younger lady on reception (didn’t get her name, dark hair very polite) was extremely welcoming, happy to see us and remembered it was our wedding day. She was very informative, offered to collect our bags and showed us to our room.
We had afternoon tea and evening meal at the Thai restaurant (left a review on Open Table) which we have mixed reviews.
The hotel room was as expected, decor was ok, it was highly cleaned, a downside was that the tv was a bit crazy, poor quality channels or, we could purchase out of date movies at a high cost, not really the service expected from a higher end hotel.
The service in the bar was good, the waitresses were great, the cocktails were amazing and the hotel overall was good.
Some of the staff really make us want to return again, not to stay but to eat in the Thai Restaurant and to have cocktails in the bar.
We do need to say that the younger lady at reception was outstanding! Our waitress in the Thai restaurant (Frederica) was amazing, a real credit to The Crazy Bear. We hope they are both appreciated for the work they do.
We will eat in the Thai restaurant but not stay.

The hotel was amazing! We ate at the Thai restaurant which was absolutely lovely and the staff looked after us very well!

The decor was very unique and nice. Food and drink are overpriced and our room was very noisy as we were right next to an entrance and a main room.

Definitely would book again, the only downfall was paid extra thinking i was going to get a bigger room but got a bigger bed, but still the experience was really good, food was excellent

Really poor service, at dinner I had to ask for a second drink which took over 20 minutes as they forgot. For the swimming poor you have to walk through the bar with no charging rooms by the pool. This is not a 5 star hotel. 3 stars at best.

On check in my mother and I asked about the room, the receptionist told us it was a nice room. When we got there it was a king bed (not appropriate for family). We were shown to our room and it was dark and claustrophobic (no windows) myself and my mum and a terrible nights sleep because of this. You can’t fault the facilities but there should be a warning before you book to alert customers to say “if you do not like confined spaces please speak to reception”. I spoke to the lady who showed us to our room and said I don’t think I’ll manage in here, she abruptly said there’s no other rooms. I was disappointed for the size of the room and the lack of windows when I paid £450.00 for one night and this did not include a cooked breakfast.

Set up of some of the rooms. Staff customer service was POOR. Rooms didn’t worth the money. Continental breakfast was a big jok

The decor is funky. Good service. The room was good with very comfortable bed however the room was across the road away from main part of the hotel so even though we wanted to use the open pool and jacuzzi, it was well inconvenient to either go in our robes across the road in a busy town centre right on a roundabout or taking everything and changing in communal toilets so even we wanted to, couldn't use those facilities. Pillows were tad uncomfortable. Even a Premier Inn standard hotel also has a wider choice of pillows.
Initially we felt our superior room was extremely cosy however as the night progressed, the heating was on full blast and there wasn't any way to control the temperature so we felt as if we spent the night in a furnace.
The hotel is an adult only hotel and attracts mainly couples who want a getaway. Keeping this in mind, the decor is on spot but a little more attention needs to be given to sound proofing the rooms. We were on the ground floor, next to the main entrance to the town house so we heard every person coming in and going out of the building. Then when the people upstairs got in, we felt as if we were part of the whole adventure that couple had in their bedroom as we could hear every single moan and groan. So overall we were entertained whole night but unfortunately not in the same way as we would have wished for.
Would I go again, not sure. Would I recommend it to others, yes with a caution.

Felt strange having no window in the room so room always felt a little dark

It was really nice, but I’m a 6.1 feet tall man meaning the bed was a little too small for me, I had to sleep at an angle, which meant lying over my partner. The bed was also very loud when moving while in it, woke us up once or twice

So very impressed with everything about this hotel - a little hard to find but well worth the hunt!!
We went on a Wednesday and enjoyed half price champagne - such good value.
Junior suite was simply divine - possibly the most romantic room in the world - huge huge huge copper bath and super sumptuous bed. Didn’t want to leave and am booking a return stay ASAP.
