From cafes, restaurants, bars, music venues to theaters and museums, Gazi is the neighborhood that covers everything. At the same time, you can walk around the center of Athens as everything is within walking distance. The archaeological site of Kerameikos is 200 meters away, the Ancient Agora and Monastiraki 1.5 km away, while the Acropolis can be reached by foot in 25 minutes, following the most beautiful route through all the main sights of Athens. You can come very easily from the airport through Metro network (10€ fare). There is also a direct link through the Metro network from the port of Piraeus. If you decide to take a taxi you will need 30 minutes from/to the airport and 20 minutes from/to the port of Piraeus. If you move with public transportation, then the Metro is at 200 meters.
