The location was great. The deck outside ocer looking the ocean. It was clean.
Room way too small and no counter space. Hardly any room to move or put our stuff anywhere. Thought we booked a cottage, but it was only a dinky little room. The one staff wasn't that friendly.

quiet area, good beds, slept very well and house was clean.
Strange welcoming by the host who just opened the door and gave us the bill and the door code for our room. The person living next door wasn’t very friendly either so the whole atmosphere around the property felt off and not welcoming. The whole place looks a bit rundown e.g sigarette leftovers on the terrace table, etc…

It was clean; the bed was very comfortable.
The small appliances that were there were very old; it needs an upgrade. Some dishes to eat off of and a bowl or two to microwave foods like soup. There were plastic dishes that I didn’t feel comfortable putting in the microwave. A bigger coffee pot and opened jam in the small fridge. There was no space at all for storing clothes.

Private cozy cottage with big yard and BBQ, right on the ocean, beautiful views from the outdoor hot rub
There was no stove, there was a single hotplate, and convection oven.

Beautiful location, although you need a car. Favourite part of our stay here was getting a pizza delivered one evening after a soak in the hot tub and eating it on the decking watching the seals and eagles right next to us. Great location for wildlife. Cosy room, very peaceful.
The new management company aren't great to deal with but I guess this is just one of many properties they run and it's no longer a family run cottage. A large additional cleaning fee of $75 was added to our booking, although we were given the option to cancel our booking but we had already made plans to visit Sooke so we went ahead. No staff onsite as it's managed remotely and they don't answer the phone, so you have to email them. Wouldn't rebook with Iris Properties.

Hot tub was nice overlooking the water.
I was under the impression it was an ocean front cottage, not really, our cottage was around back. I was hoping to be able to sit out on the deck enjoying the ocean view but our deck was in a little spot on the side with no real view of the water.

This is a cute little property within a 2 minute walk of Whiffin Spit. The suite we stayed in had a queen bed in the main living area, and 2 twins in the one bedroom.
It has a very basic kitchen, with coffee maker and beans from a coffee shop in Sooke(wicked awesome coffee), and a basket of snacks in the kitchen, as well as some fresh baked muffins in the fridge.
Not sure anything could be better, I wish I had been able to stay longer!

The little extra's were amazing! Housecoats, slippers, extra blankets, treats, and fresh cream and juice! The view from the hot tub is amazing😊

Lovely, quiet location, within an easy walk to Whiffin Spit for amazing birding and sunsets. Perfect jumping off point to explore Juan De Fuca Provincial Park.

Parking was free and we were able to check in early.
The room was very tired looking and dark with no views. The decor was not very appealing or coordinated. Not at all reflective of a seaside resort. The amenities (i.e., kitchen) in the closet were less than desirable. Newer pillows that had some substance to them would have been good.

Wonderful hosts. Very yummy snacks provided for us. Super location. Close to beaches. On a scale of 1 to 10, I would rate this place a 12. Cabin was so cozy and cute. Would visit again.

Great location and views, you can see sunrise from the backyard as well. Cottage was cozy and comfortable with a sailor's theme interior which was something new for us and we really loved it. Owner was nice and friendly. Overall it was a great and peaceful stay.

very cozy and quiet, all the comforts of home and an easy walk to Wifffen Spit.

The room was spacious, comfortable with a well stocked kitchen. It was a short walk to the water and a good location for seeing the rest of the area.

location and view was great!
Nothing really, though it would have been nice to have a microwave and a bigger trash can.

The cottage was cozy and comfortable. So close to spectacular views of the ocean and walking on Whiffen Spit. We appreciated the welcome basket of snacks and breakfast fixings. Proximity to excellent whale-watching was also a bonus!
Lighting in the kitchen could be brighter as it was difficult to see (especially for us seniors!). Bathroom lighting was excellent but a non-slip shower mat would have made getting in and out of the bathtub safer for us.

The bed was comfortable and the homemade muffins were delicious.
We enjoyed our stay in the cottage. It was a little dated but had everything we needed.
