Very clean, spacious and well fitted out. Provided a very relaxing holiday home with the benefit of swimming pool which the children loved. The host, Maryrose was very helpful.

We have recently returned from a wonderful week staying at the Casa del Zorro. A beautiful villa set on the hillside is a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The villa is well appointed with everything you need for a perfect relaxing stay. Check in was hassle free which remained the theme for the rest of the week. Views from the poolside are stunning as is the town of Competa with a good selection of restaurants. Would happily recommend a stay at Casa del Zorro to anyone.

Fantastic villa with wonderful views. Jenny and Carl were so very kind and helpful (we were 4 elderly travellers, 3 with disabilities) and nothing was too much trouble. The villa is approached by a very long winding track which took a bit of getting used to but it was worth the narrowness and steepness for the total seclusion. Well equipped, spacious villa with lovely pool and stunning views. Competa is a pretty little village with good value cafe bars. Only negative observation is that the road approaching the villa is more of a dirt track in parts and a little narrow.

We all decided to drop a star due to the pool heating being broken. As a family we usually spend most of the afternoon and evening in the pool doing silly things like it's a knockout! The pool was usable and would have been superb if heated but for 2 of our party it was too cold. Casa Zorro is a splendid villa with great panoramic views. We, a group of three elderly couples, were very pleased with the three bedrooms / bathrooms. There is plenty of room in the house and one of the best features is the covered outside lounge and dining area. It must be said that the road leading to the villa is a low quality dirt road, but with careful driving we did arrive safely every day again. Maryrose, the owner, was very responsive in the weeks prior to our stay. Knowing that we were really looking forward to enjoy the heated pool, she was also very open to communicate a sudden heating problem of the pool. We deciced to come anyway and even with the limited joy of the pool we did really enjoy our stay at this gorgeous place. We have made some nice trips in the area, like to Malaga, Nerja, Fragiliana, Competa, Torrox and Torre del Mar. It was very easy to find good restaurants in the area. All in all we had a great week!

We enjoyed 2 fantastic weeks at this beautiful villa, Maryrose was extremely helpful in the run up to our stay and Jennie & Carl who look after the property and live about 10 minutes away were on hand during our stay (but did not bother us at all). The pictures really don't do the villa justice, it is much bigger than it looks and absolutely spotless inside, the bedrooms are lovely and with the air conditioning switched on about an hour before bedtime perfectly cool. The outside kitchen is brilliant for dining al fresco and the outside wicker seating is perfect for chilling our away from the midday sun. The best thing about the villa though is definitely the pool, it is a lovely size and unbelievably warm, we spent nearly all our time in there! The views are lovely, you can see villas in the distance but the property is completely private and so peaceful, we would 100% recommend a stay here.

We had an absolutely wonderful time at Casa Zorro; the villa is fantastic, even better than it looks on the photos. The pool, in particular, is amazing and our little granddaughter really loved it. We were very lucky with the weather - in fact on some days it was a bit too hot, peaking at 40 on one day! It was lovely to be back in Competa again. Maryrose was very helpful before we left; Carl met us and took us to the villa and showed us where everything was and he and Jenny were very helpful during our stay. The layout of the villa was absolutely perfect, very comfortable and with everything needed for a self-catering holiday, and we would love to return another time. We have stayed in many villas over the years but Casa Zorro is definitely the nicest by far and we really enjoyed our stay. It is in a perfect location, in the countryside with gorgeous views to the sea but very close to Competa with its shops and restaurants. We definitely recommend it for a brilliant holiday.

We stayed here in Aug 2014 and had one of the best holidays! The villa has everything you need for an amazing holiday and the views are out if this World....sunset was one of our favorite times of the day. There are plenty of villages close by or bigger coastal towns just 15-20mins drive away. A real home from home but with much better views!!

I have now been to Casa Zorro 3 times in the last 2 years I have been meaning to write a review every time so here it is & I really don't know where to start as the villa exceeds all expectations . It is very large , but homely . All the rooms are beautifully dressed & furnished , ( the photos just don't do it justice ) Nestled in a mountain with privacy beyond belief - If you want a peaceful holiday this is the villa for you , however if you want to get out & about nothing is too far away . Competa is a delightful , typically Spanish white village 10 min drive, where you will find many superb resteraunts & bars & the coast is only 25 minutes drive away , the best of both worlds , I would say . The villa has all the facilities you could ever want , large bedrooms , all en-suite , dining inside or out , why would you want to eat inside when the views are so stunning , BBQ area , wow ! All in all an outside atmosphere to die for , the heated pool , wow , big enough for proper swimming . As you can tell I love this Villa & have been back time & time again & have also booked again for later this year. Enjoy ! ! !

We loved this villa, the space is amazing, both inside and out! Carl met us when we arrived and showed us up to the villa, and explained what was what etc, very helpful and glad he did as we dont think we would have found it in the dark!!! He was a great help and on hand when we needed to ask him anything. The villa is lovely and quiet and unoverlooked by anyone so lovely and private. The villa is better than the photos, the rooms are all a fantastic size and well equipped and so clean and tidy. We have 2 small children (5 & & years) and they had so much space to run around and the pool is lovely and big, with great loungers too. The outside area is amazing, the outside kitchen and BBQ area and lounge and dinining area outside were the making of out stay here!! We hardly went out in 2 weeks as had it all here!! Would recommend to anyone who likes the peace and quiet with great facilities! Competa is a 10 minute drive and has plenty of bars and restaurants for those who want to venture out!! We had an amazing holiday and would love to come back!!!

As previous guests have stated the villa is perfect,the location ideal for exploring surrounding areas and the village of Competa. From the villa it has spectacular views. When we arrived we required emergency assistance due to one member of our party being seriously ill, Phil and Rosemary were a tremendous help and we would not have been able to manage the extreme situation without them.We booked the villa as it was ideal for one of our disabled member's having the wet rooms and all being on one level.We had continuous support from Phil and Rosemary throughout our stay and the owners gave their support from England via telephone etc which was really appreciated.The property is well maintained and has good facilities, the air conditioning was great. The shaded area outside with the ceiling fans was very comfortable and the heated pool was superb. It is a perfect place to relax and unwind - with Competa only a short drive away. Competa has a variety of quality restaurants. We do not usually return to the same villa twice but we have booked again!

We thoroughly enjoyed our four week stay at Casa Zorro. It was even more spacious than the photographs depicted. The surrounding views were stunning and the heated swimming pool a true luxury. Another great plus was the outside covered dining/sitting area providing a shady place to relax out of the heat of the sun. We loved the villages in the nearby area (Competa, Canillas and Archez) where there were many very good places to eat and chill out. Also there are several great restaurants on the coast between Torrox Costa and Nerja. Our thanks to Phil and Rosemary for being so helpful and friendly, not forgetting Jet, their beautiful cocker spaniel. We would highly recommend a stay at Casa Zorro and we hope to return there ourselves in the not too distant future.

Fantastic, brilliant, beautiful, are some of the words we would use to describe this villa. From the moment we were met (by a very friendly and informative Rosemary & Phil) and then taken up to the villa, we knew immediately we had made the right choice. The property was all, and more, than we had expected and was in a lovely position having sweeping panoramic views over the valley, with no near neighbouring property overlooking you. It was very nice to have a free welcome pack of goodies waiting for us (beer, wine, milk, bread, ham, cheese, eggs, tea, etc) which ensured we had something to eat & drink before going out and finding the shops. All the bedrooms were large (especially the master bedroom) and all of them having en-suite facilities (all bathrooms being wet rooms). Inside the villa it was very clean and fitted out to a high standard. It was very spacious and airy, but at the same time it was also cosy and made us feel very much at home. With spending much of our time outside the villa we enjoyed the comfortable sun lounges and the places under the covered terrace where you can both eat and relax on the comfy outdoor furniture. Add to this a great pool (heated and lit) that is big enough to do some proper swimming in, and you have a perfect villa in which to enjoy a totally peaceful and relaxing holiday. During our stay we were delighted to meet the owners, Maryrose & Len, who were very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We certainly have no hesitation in recommending this villa to anyone and we do intend to return to it in the not too distant future. Thanks Maryrose & Len for a great holiday.

The villa is larger than it appears in the pictures and has a homely feel to it. It is finished to a high standard with very good facilities. All rooms and bathrooms are tidy and comfortable. The air conditioning and ceiling fans in all rooms ensures that you are comfortable day and night. The outside space is equally comfortable with the fantastic pool and patio area, which are very well maintained. The very comfortable covered shaded terrace area, with fridge and ceiling fans allows you to sit talk and play family games in comfort well into the early hours whilst enjoying the fantastic views. This combined with the very usable outside kitchen area and good sized built in barbeque led to a fantastic holiday. The villa is family and child friendly being large enough to let one another have space when required. Whilst the town of Competa is not a “hot spot” of entertainment, a plus point in my opinion, it does have a good variety of friendly bars and restaurants and we would highly recommend “El Pilon” for both quality and price. When we booked we had intended to do a bit of exploring in the area but because the villa was so comfortable and well equipped we spent the two weeks happily ensconced in the villa and pool only poping out to top up supplies.

The description of this villa does not do it justice - it was fantastic! Welcome pack was superb (we arrived on a Sunday and the main and local supermarkets were closed) and most welcome. The property is extremely well maintained and the welcoming 'committee' of Phil and Rosemary (plus the adorable Jet!) was professional yet friendly. Competa is ideal for a quiet time in the sunshine, with excellent restaurants and good local bars (showing Premier League football if that's what you are into). The views are breathtaking and, as luck would have it, the weather for May was just superb with 75 to 85 degree wall to wall sunshine, the garden and terrace being in the sun all day from early morning to very late evening. The outside seating area was simply perfect, complete with comfortable seating, dining table and overhead fans and lighting, providing a perfect evening relaxing area - in fact we hardly ever ventured indoors except for showering and sleeping - all meals being taken outside over a few bottles of the local red! Not really an ideal location for a family with kids who want to sample exciting night life, but perfect for the more mature guests looking for peace and tranquility. The heated swimming pool is absolutely perfect and the sunbathing facilities second to none. Trips to nearby Nerja (approx 20 mins drive) were frequent and rewarding; not full of the usual British 'bustle' and excellent dining and tapas facilities. A hire care is essential, and the driving experience is not something to be phased about, we didn't experience one single incident of road rage during the two weeks we were there - a refreshing change from the stress of UK driving!
