A nice and quiet place with a breathtaking view of the landscape.

The Château de Sanse is surrounded by nature and has a breathtaking view of the beautiful landscape. Cleanliness and light decoration : harmony between the old and the new materials. Cosy and enough common space with a small number of bedrooms, making it a comfortable place to stay. The size of the suite. Sandra, the owner, puts all of her energy to bring a memorable stay to the guests. By car easy reach to all the vineyards villages like Saint Émilion for example.

A better maintained swimming-pool : shower U/S and too many insects in the water. Wardrobe, coat-hanger missing in the bedroom : only one valet clothes available so we had to spread our garments instead. Lights above the bathroom sink and fan not working, which is tough with the summer heat. Towels and bed linen were not changed every day. Despite a breakfast served from 8, soft-boiled eggs not served before 9 because cooked using the gas-stove.

Stay two nights if you can!

Superb location deep in the countryside - so peaceful! Beautiful warm stone buildings - gardens and a pool - a terrace to dine or lounge enjoying the lovely view. Plus warm friendly staff and excellent food and comfy beds. We wish we had booked for two nights!

No aircon but they gave us a large fan.

Beautiful modern hotel in a outstanding, quiet location with excellent staff, food and facilities.

I can't praise this hotel enough, our stay was excellent in every way. Without exception, the staff are friendly, approachable, accommodating, speak good English and just make you feel comfortable. Our room was exactly as described, new comfortable furniture, excellent roomy bathroom ... perfect. We eat in three nights and the food was excellent quality with plenty of choice. Breakfast was similarly good, typically French, minimal but good quality, with homemade fresh products. The hotel is set in a beautiful, fairly remote location and has been recently refurbished. The swimming pool was warm, spotlessly clean with good surrounding furniture. Although the location and building are excellent, it's the staff that made our stay perfect. Highly recommended, thanks.

Dordogne at its best, beautiful romantic Chateau in a dreamy location with wonderful hosts.

The property, location, facilities were all exceptional. The pool area set above a vista of vine yards and rolling hills was just Devine. Sandra and Uri who have only recently bought the business were exceptionally attentive, friendly and helpful hosts. They have already invested vastly in upgrading the guest rooms and have lots of fantastic ideas for the future of the their beautiful Chateau.

Still beautiful, but needs some attention to detail

Having first stayed at the hotel 13 years ago, the setting, views and quality of restaurant dining were all as outstanding as we remembered.

The hotel has been acquired by new owners and we found that some of the changes didn’t meet the standards that our memories expected. More than anything though we were hugely disappointed to be advised during dinner on night 1 that the restaurant would be unavailable on the Friday night 2 of our stay due to a staff reception - we felt that particularly in such a rural setting, we should have received advance notice of the requirement for us to research alternatives.

Pleasant stay. Great location

The hotel is very comfortable and the room spacious, in a great position. As we stayed there on the Monday everything outside was closed so we had to have dinner at the hotel. The evening meal, in the style of nouveau cuisine, was a little pricey but probably reflected the level of the hotel. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. This was really good and I’m good value. We made use of the swimming pool which was heated.

Nice overnight stay. Very nice building. Nice and welcoming staff. Very good value for money.

Location, view, park and building (architecture) were outstanding. Nice and quick welcome from kind staff (the kitchen was open just for me for dinner). Quiet and relaxing place.

Furniture and decoration of the room were outdated and in sad contrast with the beauty of the walls/architecture of the place. Bathroom of good size and clean, but also in need of a refresh (especially the seals...quiet old...).

Breakfast in the dining room was self service continental with a good choice of bread, coissants, fruit, juices and cold meats. Coffee is served at your table and the view over the valley is a delight.

Thoroughly enjoyed our second visit to such a beautiful location.

The buffet breakfast had a good choice and was available in their attractive dining room. The evening meals were good although for 5 nights the choice was limited. The location was in beautiful countryside with splendid views. The staff were friendly and helpful, responding to all our needs. We certainly intend to return.

The bath needed a non slip mat and a well placed support for our less flexible limbs.

We had an amazing meal on the last evening of our holiday during the summer the food was excellent and the staff really friendly, we had to revisit the area for the weekend so decided to stay at this location, the weather was very different but the great ambiance, friendliness and amazing food remained.

Very classy and discreet hotel. Very good for a quiet night or weekend.

The location is a bit remote, but not too hard to find. The accommodation was classy with a nice room with views...a bit "character" as the bathroom was only a pony wall at the head of the bed. The staff was so discreet as to be invisible.

We thought all very nice and classy...however, the staff was so discreet as not to ask if we had enjoyed our stay or really any communique at all during our stay. Even though - not as welcoming as the "hello Mr. & Mrs and How was your stay, breakfast, etc?
