Welcome to 'Rancho Del Fresco!' One of luxuryhomesharing properties! This property is named for the fresh ocean breezes that come year round! Enjoy breathtaking views from this luxurious hilltop location. Relax in the warm San Diego sun while enjoying the gentle ocean breezes. This is a fully fenced, gated and secured estate. Sorry no weddings. You literally NEVER have to leave this property once you arrive! Everything you need is right here. Your own movie theater, ice cream parlor, game room in the basement. the pool is luxurious for both kids (fun slide and baby pool) and adults who with to lounge in the sun or enjoy a cold drink under the shade structure while taking in the magnificent view and vivid colors of flowers and vegetation. Breathe in the fresh citrus in the air and blooming jasmin and lavender scents by the pool. This location is WELLNESS is every sense of the word! Enjoy games of basketball, pickleball and volleyball on the full sized sports court or play a game of soccer on the soccer field. There is a new Pickleball Court!! Short tennis (bring your own paddles.) Everything you ever need is right here on the property. The main outdoor courtyard is a favorite for all groups. Hire an artesian pizza chef to come cook pizzas for your group in the outdoor wood fired pizza oven. Under the market lights, you will experience an unforgettable scene as your loved ones gather under a star filled sky. Start up the wood burning fireplace and snuggle together to enjoy your evening. Enjoy spectacular sunsets over the ocean in the evening as the sky lights up brilliant colors. The kitchen windows were situated to enjoy both the sunrise and sunset from the same location. It's a beautiful thing. The main home and guest cottages make up the 13,500 square feet of luxurious serene living. The main home has 9 bedrooms and 9 bathrooms, home theater, cantina, gourmet kitchen and countless areas to relax. The ninth bedroom is a queen bedroom converted from the primary library and shares the primary bathroom. Included on the property is a 2 bed/2 bath guest home. The guest home is separate from the main home but just a short walk away. Perfect for those who need a bit more social distancing. There is a gated caretaker cottage on a neighboring property at the base of the hill, sharing the main gate, but separate driveway. This property is inspired by the old San Diego/Spanish style. Get lost in a different time while enjoying all the conveniences of modern living. We recently booked this VRBO property for our company retreat, and it surpassed all expectations. The spacious and well-equipped accommodations provided plenty of room for our team to work and relax. Rancho del Fresco is wonderful in every way …
From Rebecca’s warm, kind and generous hospitality, to the gorgeous property with its incredible amenities, our family of 24 (from our brand-new infant grand nephew to our ninety-year-old matriarch) enjoyed every minute of our family gathering over this past Labor Day weekend. We had plenty of space to gather together or spread out and do our own things (oh, and what lovely spaces …); Rebecca’s recommendation of a private chef was spot-on; everyone had a real comfy bed; so much was provided for and with such thoughtfulness --bed and bath linens; powerful laundry resources; well-stocked kitchen supplies; etc. We could go on and on …, but we will just say we felt so sad leaving.
Our warmest thanks to Rebecca and family for sharing their magnificent home with guests so that we and others could create such sweet memories with our own family too!

We selected this property for our family reunion and turned out to be an excellent choice. We hosted 20 family members and everyone enjoyed the home (including those who had to work from home). The property was located in the hills which was relaxing yet close enough to the beaches, shopping, and other attractions in San Diego. The large rooms and patios provided ample space for family activities. I believe everyone had an enjoyable time. The owners were very helpful in making the arrangements answering all of our questions.

Every couple of years we have a family gathering. This year we needed space for 5 families with a headcount of 15 ranging in age from 1yr to 82yrs. Rancho Del Fresco was perfect! All rooms having full bathrooms, a large living room where all could meet comfortably, a fully equipped kitchen, a gas bbq and wood burning pizza oven, and, activities both in and outdoors met all of our desires. The estate is well furnished including games, books, and sports equipment. We tend to be competitive and found the pickle ball, basketball, swimming pool, and ping pong perfect for events. Movies in the theater room were a treat as we unwound from busy days. Our stay was for 7 days which allowed time to enjoy activities away from the house, e.g., beach, zoo, and, just walking the waterfront and shopping the unique stores. Guess the most important question is whether we would consider Rancho Del Fresco for another gathering. The answer from all 15 is a definite YES! Thanks to the owners for providing their house for our totally successful time together.

A great family vacation was enjoyed by all of us!

What an incredible property for our family reunion, best decision ever to stay here! We had 12 Adults and 3 children/1 infant for most of our stay, and then 2 Adults/3 teens who visited us for 1 night. Everyone had a bed and bathroom in the rooms they stayed in - this was a HUGE factor for a group of our size! We absolutely loved our mornings together sitting on the large family room couch that could seat us all! Days were spent in the pool and hottub area, which was truly a spectacular and peaceful setting. Fun for the whole family was found on the pickleball court, with breaks to eat fresh oranges off the fruit trees on the property!! The owners were extremely attentive and responsive to our questions and any needs we had. Highly recommend catering in Red Oven Pizza recommended by the ownerrs, they will bring their own pizza oven and set up in the courtyard - we also ordered their feta watermelon salad and everyone thoroughly enjoyed that night under the twinkle lights of the courtyard. (One recommendation we have is to have a couple heater lamps in the courtyard to take off the chill, as it can cool down when the sun starts to go down) Watching the Masters in the Theatre room was an event for our whole family! Cannot thank the owners enough for making this wonderful home available to us!

Our family of 20 stayed at this grand, spacious home for our triannual family reunion. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out, the grounds were beautiful, the pool cool and very much appreciated in the heat. Our main concern was the lack of cleanliness of the home. There was built-up grease all over the stove, cobwebs throughout the windows, a shower curtain covered in mold on the bottom quarter, dirty dishes and silverware among other things. We had to clean before we used items, and wipe everything down. This was disappointing as the cleaning fee for this property is very high, so we would expect a much cleaner home. Also, all of the smoke detectors had their batteries removed, which poses a potential fire hazard. We tried to address these issues with the owner early into our stay but were told getting someone to come in and do some cleaning was not available. Not wanting to let the lack of cleanliness ruin our trip, we cleaned what we could and otherwise really enjoyed our stay.

We enjoyed the many amenities offered at the property including the pool/jacuzzi, home theater for holiday movies, tennis/pickleball court, great room was perfect for our nightly gathering as was the patio area on the main level. Just perfect!

This was a beautiful place for our family reunion. The weather seems to always be perfect in San Diego for swimming, hiking, kayaking, beaching and eating on the patio.
The bedrooms were comfortable, the kitchen accommodated our many cooks, the gathering room was spacious and there were enough bathrooms! We loved it .

This home and guest house lays out beautifully for a family reunion. We enjoyed the pool, pool slide and jacuzzi and lounged around under the arbor. The large chef kitchen made it easy to feed our family of 12.
The owners, Ross and Rebecca are very responsive to issues and we felt our needs were well taken care of.

Our family of 13 (3 couples, kids 16-29) thoroughly enjoyed a week at this sprawling property with 10 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms (2 at guest house), huge well stocked kitchen, large tables inside/outside, pool/hot tub with plenty of shade, outdoor pizza oven/grill, comfy theatre, ping pong/game room, Pickleball, basketball and a field for soccer! Our host Rebecca, was very responsive and bought new sports equipment for our play. The house is in a great location with easy drives to local Beach towns, great hikes (Torrey Pines and Annies Canyon) and half hour north of San Diego. Highly recommend this experience.

The property exceeded expectations! There were so many places to sit and visit for our family gathering. The kitchen was well quipped. The outdoor spaces were very nice. Everything was in working order and the owner was very responsive to any questions or problems. I would highly recommend this property.

We stayed for a family reunion celebration. The location, beds, views, outdoor areas, pool, jacuzzi and tennis/ pickle ball courts were wonderful. Check in was easy and Ross, the owner was responsive if we had questions. We would definitely stay here again.

This is a beautiful property that offers so many activities right on site. The pool kept all 8 kids very busy and happy, as did the theater! and the ping-pong and foos ball games. They also had plenty of room to spread out with their "screens"--so an A for the kids. The 12 adults (parents and grandparents) also
thoroughly enjoyed this house. The bedrooms were spacious and comfortable, the kitchen was great for large cooking groups and clean-up, and there are many nooks and crannies for reading and working (if necessary) in solitude. Overall, it is a grand place for a vacation with 20 people. The owner/hostess Rebecca Burnett is simply charming and very responsive to every need. She was available all through the rental process and through our week's stay at the property. I cannot thank her enough.
The parking wasn't any problem even though we had 4 SUV sized cars. The owner permitted us to charge our electric car on site.
We had a private chef and and pizza party at the house, and both were suggested by Ms. Burnett. What fun we had. Also, we enjoyed severa; days at the nearby Del Mar beach. It was beautiful and the water was just great.

The house and property was exactly as listed and more . The hosts addressed several small issues promptly and we had excellant communication with each other. We had 26 guests and there was more than enough space for everyone . The location of the house is conveniently located to all of San Diego’s attractions and beaches. We had a great time on our west coast family trip

This house was perfect for our family to come together for the first time in a while. It was a little dirtier than I anticipated, found some candy wrappers and whip cream cans under beds. But the house itself is perfect! Thanks to this house we grew closer as a family and made lasting memories. The hosts are INCREDIBLE and would rent from them in a heartbeat, they know their stuff and are sooo kind.

Our family had a wonderful time at the estate. We did not have to go anywhere to have fun—we used the tennis court, swimming pool, ping pong table, and movie theater a lot!—and we felt safe there even though the Covid numbers in Southern California were high. Rebecca was an awesome host and she made sure that we had everything we needed. Thank you, Rebecca! I highly recommend this place.
