The Island is beautiful and definitely worth a visit
The staff at the reception desk is very friendly
The Hotel is definitely not worth the money it costs. The rooms were old and not up to standard and partly not cleaned properly (stains on the bed and stains on the towels) The bathrooms are terrible and look like they have not been renovated since the 50s. Also there is NO A/C in the rooms, just some ventilation system, which makes it impossible to sleep in the heat!
The staff at the Galija Restaurant is very unfriendly and lets you feel that they don’t want you there/they don’t want to be working there. The food is overpriced and does not taste nearly as good as it should for what they are charging. Also a 0,75l bottle of still water is almost 6€. (0,5 € at the store …)
The only good thing about the breakfast is the pancake machine.
The eggs are terrible and taste as if they’ve been standing out for hours. Not edible. There’s 3 types of white bread only and generally not enough variety in food. The coffee does not taste good.
The staff is also very rude and unfriendly. We asked one waiter which meat the cuts were to which he answered „well I guess you should know what that is“
There’s no signs or labels for the food whatsoever. So good luck if you have allergies.
We left a day early because we were just disappointed.
When we told the lady at the front desk that we were not pleased with the stay, she said she was very sorry and that she understood my complaint. So I’m guessing we were not the first VERY unhappy guests.
It’s sad to see so much unused potential. This island is truly a treasure but it’s seems that it’s only being used as a money grab! I would not recommend anyone to stay at the hotel. We will definitely not be returning!

Well, although the facilities are a bit outdated, the stay at the Istra hotel was quite comfortable and had that nostalgic touch. The location and the islands are stunning per se, so it makes the stay quite memorable and special. The breakfast is ok, but really enjoyed our dinner at the Galija restaurant. The food was good, but the staff was excellent!
Big thanks to Franjo there for taking such a good care of us!
All in all, I believe it is a reasonable price for what you get in return. It is truly a special place and going there is such a wonderful experience. Even the outdated areas give it a special charm!

Personally, the best place in Croatia you can visit. Untouched nature, no cars, not crowded (except around hotel), feels more like Africa then Europe with its big green fields with zebras and peacocks. Golf cars or bikes are a must to explore the island. Round of island is rougly 13km, everyone can find a perfect spot to enjoy. Will be coming next year also.
Nothing to complain about

This is THE way to experience Brijuni. Staying at the hotels on the island gives the entire experience a huge boost.

Great location, beautiful nature. Food is simple but tasty and delicious.

Big room, probably the biggest ever! I do not know about other rooms but this one (109) was roughly at about 40 m2… Wonderful view to the sea. Comfortable bed. Great bathroom. Everything very clean. Food was good, solid but not extraordinary… Excellent connection with the mainland (Fazana, 15 minutes by boat), safe parking in Fazana where one leaves the car.
Overall, the hotel needs some refurbishment (not our room!)… Brioni is nice but there is not much to do…

Everything’s perfect - our beloved island in Croatia, we were here also a couple of times last year and will definitely come back again, also this year. Friendly and attentive personnel, all speak good German and/or English, delicious food (both breakfasts and dinners) and house wine, a marvelous view from the rooms with a seaview. Mister Tito has truly chosen an incredible place for his private residence. Unique climate, various wild and domestic animals and birds, a lot of hidden paths to explore. Highly recommended to visit! When the last ferry with the group tourists leaves the island, you feel yourself being in an Agatha Christie’s movie (in a positive way!) ;)

You have to come and visit this place! It is a must the hotel is perfectly good but the island is why you visit! Room is clean and comfy nothing more you could want.
Nothing everything is great because of the island.
5.0
location,
staff at the bike rental are super polite
breakfast should be improved and food offer should be healthier,
indoor swimming pool should have been renovated years ago and not left behind as a ruin,
NP Brijuni has huge potential, menagement of hotel should improve the offer and all facilities should be renovated into at least 4 star,
it is far too expensive for 3 star hotel
some waiters are impolite,as well as some receptionists,

The location was amazing - the islands are fabulous and well worth the visit. The hotel is charming and steeped in history but not maximised to reach it's full potential.
The staff were for the most part were not friendly, mostly abrupt and not friendly. Equally not always very helpful. There was no explanation with regards the restaurant facilities so we didn't book and were more than disappointed by the evening buffet on offer.... More like school food. I tried to book a snorkelling trip and this wasn't organised by reception.

Apartment at Istra hotel has beautiful sea view. Staff at reception is extremely kind. The same goes for the ladies and most of waiters in the restaurant. Food is ok also for fish lovers and vegetarians. The island is great place to stay for people who like cycling, walking and swimming. You can find peaceful and quiet places if you go around.
We would very much appreciate if in case more than two stay at the apartment there would be a real extra bad not just sofa bad because sleeping on sofa bad in such a nice hotel is far from comfortable. At the restaurant waiters should take care of guests instead of just telling us don't go away from your table because seagull will get food of your plate.

Location and staff are very good, especially in the restaurant, head of the restaurant lobby was more than polite and kind. Unfortunately the food they serve there is under the normal standard for the 3 star hotel, very bad.
Food, it is very bad

Charm and spirit of the old times. Location of the hotel is unique and it’s nice to be situated in the center of national park.
The price of the hotel is too much and very expensive considering everything that you get as guest. Hotel is very old and very very unkempt. Air condition is so old, probably the first prototip in history od air conditioning. I have not seen anything like that. Also it is not working very well. Prices of everything are like you are staying in much better hotel. Breakfast is poor and below every standard for hotel catergorised with ***

Room was better then on the picture, even bathroom has window.
Breakfast and dinner were also nice, nature is beautiful.
Parking service in Fažana is great.
Bike and electric vehicles rentals could be cheaper for hotels guests
