Breakfast was good had the opportunity to book evening meals which where excellent value for money would definitely book here again

The room had not even been hoovered. I had to borrow the chambermaids hoover and do it myself. Hairs in shower. Window did not close so was freezing in room. The beds were very uncomfortable and the pillows were flat.

Good Morning, We booked the Birchfield hotel via booking.com. We paid £360 for the 22nd till the 24th of September for the Weston beach race, which my partner was competing in. This was the only hotel that was dog friendly & available. On arrival the receptionist was rude and sleepy! He handed our key without any information on what room we was staying in or how to find it. We was also very unaware of the extra fee the hotel charged for pets. We had to pay an extra £20 per night.  (£40 altogether) We was shocked to see the state the room was in. The room was very dirty with dust & cobwebs. The room was also very musky with little ventilation. We returned back to the hotel after lunch, when our key wouldn’t unlock our room door. We was locked out of our room with no way of getting in, this caused lots of stress to our dog who was stuck inside, crying and howling as he could hear us on the other side of the door. This was also very stressful for my partner whose kit was in the room which he needed. After speaking to the receptionist  and a lot of waiting, the receptionist came upstairs to try unlock the door but had no luck. This went on for quite some time before the receptionist shoulder barged the door so hard it broke the lock. He then said it was “fixed” and “if it was to happen again to just find him” though this was not helpful as the reception of the hotel closed at 8pm & wasn’t 24hr. So I then asked if we could change rooms. After lots more waiting our new room was no better. Because of this inconvenience we missed our dinner reservation which was booked weeks prier knowing Weston restaurants get so busy due to the race. This ruined our evening, what was meant to be a relaxing night ready for the race turned into a disaster.

Staff however were Extremely helpful and accommodating.

I’d say this is an adults/older children only hotel. I wouldn’t stay with a baby again. Corridors are extremely narrow making using buggy very difficult and there was no room for a travel cot. They don’t provide a travel cot and do state this so this is possibly why so this issue was on me.

The shower was not disabled friendly, not really suitable for a disabled person doors not wide enough to suit a walking frame, definitely not wheelchair friendly

We didn’t have breakfast, although paid for it as there’s no option to pay on the morning, and wasn’t aware it was 8-9 after paying.

The mould in the bathroom, not good for asthma. We’d booked a double room, upon arrival the person checking us in insisted we took a twin room instead, even after saying no 3 times, I’m not sure whether this was because we’re a same sex couple.

Overall cleanliness was ok , bed comfy enough. Staff pleasant enough.

No breakfast or dinner available despite it being stated in the advert on booking.com. This is quite necessary for my partner as he is diabetic , it was a quick stay over on way to Somerset so we didn’t want to be having to traipse about. It also states no parking yet there is some. But if u park first u are then blocked in . Wi-Fi rubbish. Didn’t like location at all or Weston-super-Mare.

The hotel is in a wonderful quiet location, close to the promenade, bus route number 1, and very easy to walk into the main shopping area. I loved the roof terrace overlooking the marina. It is stunning. My room was quiet, clean and the bed was so comfortable - it was a great night's sleep. This hotel is excellent value for money and in a perfect location to walk to the old pier and the marine pool area. I loved my stay here and will definitely be back!

Although the room was small, which I was expecting for the price and it being a single room, it was a shame that there was a wardrobe in front of the bay window, so it was impossible to open the window. Perhaps putting a chest of drawers there instead, or a half width wardrobe, would give the room more light and the possibility of being able to open the window.

Location was excellent.

Could not get any hot water out of the shower. Despite having stayed in hundreds of hotels and getting their showers to work, reception staff didn't seem to believe me. First time I've ever stayed in a hotel and not been able to have a shower. Room was surface clean but significant food crumbs in a drawer suggest room wasn't checked. Room directly above reception. Very noisy all night.
