You could square dance in the great room! Spacious porch, quiet waters to kayak or swim
in. Comfortable furniture and beds, well-equipped kitchen, including a choice of placemats. A railing on the stairs to the lower garden would be helpful.

It was clean and enough room. If you are fussy about grass in lakes, etc. it may not be the best place for you to swim but the kayaking is great and 15 minutes away is a sandy beach. It worked well for us. The kitchen is very big we were eight people. We were originally going to be 10 and that would have been too many people for the space unless you don’t mind someone sleeping in the living room it’s not super cosy and there weren’t enough chairs in the living room for all of us to sit down. The kitchen could use some more cooking pans and things like that. The knives could be sharpened… but generally for a family summer visit it’s good.

This property worked well for us as we have family in the area. We all enjoyed the lake and use of kayaks and paddle boat. We also used the gas grill for a cookout and the bar seating worked perfectly for our meals.

The property is located on a large cove providing protection from waves that can be present on Lake Champlain on windy days. The neighbor, Debbie, was very friendly and let us use her 2 kayaks and paddle boat. The property included 2 other kayaks we could use. The lake bottom is sandy and rocky so you may want water shoes. There were often ducks, geese, and heron (I believe) nearby or on the property in the morning/evening hours to observe. We enjoyed watching them, especially on the rainy days from under the covered patio. The house was very spacious with high vaults in the open common areas. It has comfortable beds and nice bathrooms, especially the master. The kitchen has a very large Island (lots of counter top space).

Located in a quite lakeside residential neighborhood. Great room ( living room, kitchen, dining room perfect for gathering as a family. Covered patio facing lake, perfect for breakfast time. Waterfront/ outdoor area ideal for kayaking and SUP. Bathrooms are spacious, modern and clean. Primary bedroom bed is comfortable.

Quiet neighborhood with peaceful waterfront. The house did have a heavy odor of bleach/ cleaning products and the overhead fan in the bunk room was not working, but I bought some fans from the hardware store. Other than that it was a pleasant stay.

This lakehouse made it possible for my large family to comfortably visit with family in Chazy. We made every meal in the large kitchen or on the grill and were able to eat together. We had some impressive thunderstorms which we were able to enjoy on the porch under the protection of the roof. Luckily it didn’t get hot outside until the day we left because I imagine the house would get hot.

Simple Lakehouse, open floor plan, access to lake. Room to play board games, and spend time as a family on rainy days.
Owner was very responsive. Property was clean and well maintained.

The host John was accessible. Property beautifully situated on lakefront. Neighbors are very gracious and kind. Debby was kind and helpful. Let us use her kayaks and paddle boat. John and Linda were saviors. Saved us from a kayak disaster. Quiet place for a relaxing stay. Thank you host John and neighbors.

The house was beautifully set on Champlain lake. We loved spending evenings around the fire overlooking the lake. The neighbor was very hospitable. The house was clean and came with all needed amenities. It was a plus having two kayaks.

Very happy with our stay. It was a secluded location with a beautiful lake view. Lots of open, comfortable space in the house. Using the kayaks was a huge plus. Great time.

The property was clean and as listed. Nice sheets and towels, kitchen well stocked with dishes, bowls, cooking utensils. Beds were comfortable. Neighbor was very friendly and helpful. We spent a lot of time on the back porch enjoying the water and quiet. The lake was clean and shallow in the bay, don't forget your water shoes. We spent a few days kayaking and floating. House was in a great location, nice and quiet and tucked away, but a quick drive into Plattsburgh for grocery shopping, restaurants, and the ferry to Vermont. 14 miles from the Canadian border. We couldn't have had a nicer stay. Be advised that the water is clearly from the lake/well (which is to be expected) and seems to have a very high iron content, so when showering or washing clothes you can smell the iron.

I titled this review with a but.. at the end for a reason. We did have a great time. The view is really nice of the lake. Had fun using the fire pit. The house has concrete floors covered with an apoxy and that actually made it very easy to clean up after ourselves especially because we had a few dogs there with us. No Ac but we knew that going in so we brought fans and it cooled down nice at night. Now here’s the but… before I booked 7 months prior I contacted the owner. I had 2 main questions. Is it dog friendly and can the dock hold 2 boats. I was told yes to both so I booked. Found out 5 days before from a recent review there was no dock. So I contacted The owner and he confirmed there was no dock. I was upset but was able to get a dock for $100 for the week at chazy yacht club. So crisis overted. Some miss communication there. But what I was also disappointed about is that the water is extremely shallow and mucky with lots of weeds. So swimming was impossible and even if there was a dock I would not have been able get my 22ft boat close enough. Not even close enough to beach it. The water is a foot deep way out from shore. In researching it I found there is a 5 foot level difference from spring when the run off and snow melt happens and summer. Would of been nice to know. The dock and swimming may not be an issue for people that just want a nice house with a view for R&R. And one more good thing is the neighbor is very friendly and was helpful guiding us to some good place to fish and go with the boat. One more for the but…apparently the previous people pulled the garbage cans up to the house so the company didn’t pick it up. So we ran out of room for garbage and because there was garbage in there for almost 2 weeks and we had a heatwave that week the flies were horrible. So bad that we had to buy sticky strips. When they finally picked it up at the end of the week the flies went away. I know this is not the owners fault or the woman who manages it that stopped buy to apologize, but it could of been handled better. Like maybe taking the garbage away themselves so the next people didnt have to deal with it. That’s just an unfortunate event. Even with that we had a great time. And it’s also unfortunate about the water depth and lack of a dock. If not for that we would of gone back because the house and view was great.

We found the property to be very clean, spacious and comfortable. The location is protected so it is a good place to moor your boat. I beached our 17 foot tracker without a problem. The water is very shallow which makes it safe for the kids. The bottom is muddy. It would be nice if the owner added a dock.

When we arrived we felt a little uncomfortable because the cleaning lady was in the house in her bathing suit. The house was spacious but not as nice as the pictures. The floor is painted concrete and has several permanent stains. Kitchen counters which appeared to be marble turned out to be painted particle board. There was no AC and the house was stuffy and had a stale odor. We made the best of it but then on the third night the septic tank backed up, flooding much of the house. I went to contact the owner only to realize he never gave us his phone number. My husband was able to find it on Facebook. The owner called a repairman who came on a Sunday night. The septic was full (not clogged) and needed to be pumped out at a later time. We ended up leaving and was refunded the remainder of our trip.

Tranquil escape
It is a nice quiet country escape watching ducks in the backyard and kayaking out to explore the lake. The water is shallow though muddy so launching kayak is easy. The house particularly the open kitchen is spacious so perfect for family reunion. The furnishing is basic but adequate and utensils are well equipped. When we arrived, the mother of John’s partner came over to greet us and made sure everything is ok and gave us her phone number in case we need anything. Very thoughtful. John was also quick to response when I told him the grill is out of propane. He immediately sent over a new tank the same day. My only complaint is the water, both the taste and the rusty deposits. My suggestion for future renter is to buy gallons of drinking water. Other than that, our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Perfect set up for two families
We had a wonderful time. The kids shared the bunk bed room and the adults got great nights sleep! The house is very open and clean. The kids (age 1, 3, 4 and 6) spent all day by the lake skipping rocks and exploring. The youngest one loved crawling around in the super clean living room or sitting in the grass watching the other kids. We found a lot to do in town as well (Country Dreams farm was a great morning adventure for the kids and the Vesco winery was an excellent afternoon trip after naptime). At night, the fire pit in the yard was peaceful and serene. I would recommend bringing your own cooking pans if you plan to do a lot of cooking - the ones provided seemed to be from the Dollar General and the Teflon peeled off while cooking. Otherwise, the property suited our needs perfectly.

The cottage itself is a wonderful space with great views and a nice spot to kayak. We were very disappointed, however, to show up with our boat to find that there was no dock in the water. Our communication with the owner prior to arrival indicated we would be bringing our boat. He gave a list of places to launch so we could get it to the house. Prior reviews indicated that there was no dock but he responded indicating that a floating dock was now installed. When we arrived no dock was in the water. We contacted him immediately and he indicated that they "share the dock with the neighbor who isn't coming due to medical concerns". I notified him that the dock was sitting in the yard and he never responded.
If you have a large group and don't need/want a dock this is a great place. Beware if you plan on boating. The water is also very shallow and muddy for close to 100ft out into the lake, so not great for swimming, either.
