Beautiful condo. The big resort next door is noisy. Could use some comfortable chairs on the deck, to enjoy the Beautiful vistas.

The view is beautiful. It is spacious. We like the environment, the on-site restaurant is nice. The beach is beautiful.
The detergent of sheets is strong, it causes skin rash. The light bulb of living room is pure white and bleak, we used other lights instead. The toilet seat covers need replacement. But those are minor and not too expensive to do.

Beautiful property and view. Not one complaint. It is very quiet and laid back. You don’t come here to party but the people are very sociable.

This is are second stay at La Jolla, this is a beautiful condo and location. staff are all very helpful and very friendly. 3 things. Communication with the management is good and quick response. I just find it odd that he lives in the US. I couldn't get signed in to Netflix and he said he would have liked to help us but lived in the US. there are no instruction on how to use the washing machine it's all in Spanish, no worries we use the ones in the building all with English translation. I've been renting condos in Mexico for 8 years and usually there is a binder with all kinds of information like how to get around. things to do, recommended restaurants. directions on how to use stuff. The last thing is the kitchen equipment. Ther is a nice new stove but the hood fan and lights don't work, makes for a hot kitchen when cooking. There is a nice new set of frying pans but every thing else is mismatched. Someone needs to go in there and sort it out. 3 trays of silverware? no potato peeler, mixer with one beater, mismatched plastic containers. we figured it out but it's such a nice condo and if your a cook like me and your there for two weeks or more it's a bit frustrating. None of these things would stop me from renting this unit again. I actually tried for next year but it's booked up.

We loved this Condo. It was clean and the staff was friendly. The scenery was breathtaking. We were very comfortable there. It was very relaxing. Thanks so much for the opportunity to stay.

Unit was not cleaned well, fridge and stove were dirty, front desk was of no help, there was no cleaning supplies in the unit (dish soap, broom). Unit owner stated they lived in the US and did not want to be contacted for any reason, don't rent in VRBO if you don't want to be contacted then.

We've been renting at La Jolla de Mismaloya for many years. We love the view, the relative quiet, the staff, the meticulous maintenance, the great pool and hot tubs, and dining at Mismaloya Grill in season.
Our most recent stay was not our favorite unit from over the years because of a few relatively minor frustrations. As others have noted, the kitchen is not supplied with items like dish soap, basic condiments, or more than one plastic ice tray. The bedroom, while spacious and comfortable, was quite dark as one of the two lamps was burned out with no new bulb to be found. Even the light outside the window was burned out. We didn't find the living room very conducive to relaxing, as there were no table lamps for more mellow indirect lighting and the furniture arrangement meant you can't see the TV from the futon couches. (We rarely watch TV so that usually wouldn't matter, but this November's fierce heat and humidity kept us indoors a bit more than usual.) The balcony's glass railings were missing (perhaps due to the very recent hurricane Nadia?) so our view from the unit was through crisscrossed yellow danger tape. But when sitting outside, we could enjoy the magnificent view just fine, and spotted early whales in Mismaloya Bay--first of the season which usually doesn't start till December.
None of these were major problems. The host was understanding when we needed to change dates, wifi was great, and all in all our week there was another winner. Thanks!

Amazing views and property!
Unit updated modern and clean!
Only issue was shower drains were clogged.

The property was as advertised. Staff were very friendly. Condo very clean and overall good shape. A few odds and ends need attention but overall good. Internet was very good. The view is absolutely amazing. Mismaloya itself is very rustic with limited services but the people were great and some incredible restaurants. Took the bus for $10 pesos (less than a $1.00 CAD) to PV multiple times. Took a taxi back when we Grocery shopped which is really required as Mismaloya can be slim pickings for supplies. If you’re there for only a few nights you can get by though.
Would do it again!

The property is located off Playa Mismaloya. A short walk on the beach gets you to restaurants and swimming the calm waters.
The views from the condo's balcony are amazing, the condo itself is just lovely. The pool is gorgeous!! I hope to be back soon :)

I think we spent more time on the patio enjoying the incredible views of the Mismaloya Beach, the Pacific Ocean and all the sealife and boat activities than we did in the very comfortable room! Friendly staff, excellent onsite restaurant, and lots of little separate beach restaurants to try! I loved walking to the village for groceries. Very safe and peaceful location.

My husband and I stayed at this property in March 2023 and we loved every minute. The view from the condo was spectacular and the condo itself had everything we needed for a perfect vacation. The owner and property manager were responsive when called about little issues which was appreciated. The condominium complex itself was clean and well-maintained and the staff at the front desk were extremely helpful, exceeding all expectations. Everyone, residents and staff, were very welcoming and we made many new friends while relaxing by the pool. We enjoyed many wonderful meals while watching the sunset at the on-site restaurant but also enjoyed several restaurants in downtown Mismaloya. I had the best massage of my life a short walk down the beach for $25.00 US followed by a fresh fruit cocktail on the beach. There are no shortage of day activities in the area. We recommend the zoo, the botanical gardens, a boat ride to Las Animas Beach, and the Rhythms of the Night Cruise & show from Puerto Vallerta as well as shopping and dining in Puerto Vallerta. Overall, this vacation exceeded my expectations and I cannot wait to return some day. A big thank you to the host!!!!

The condo setting is absolutely gorgeous.
Two washroom, king bed, living room perfect.
Only the little things are missing, dishsoap, dishtowels, sugar, spices and operating instructions in English. Microwave plate missing. Instructions for the stove etc.
I would stay again in a minute, BUT i would bring the little things that make your stay confortable with me.

We had a wonderful week stay. The view is priceless, the pool with sun all day kept us happy. The restaurant is convenient if you don’t want to always cook. Make sure you do all your shopping before you arrive as there is no grocery store nearby. The condo had no spices not even salt and pepper so do come prepared. The condo bed was comfortable, the shower water pressure was best I’ve had in PV.
I would stay here again.

Very nice for those who want to get away from the noise, crowds and amenities of Puerto Vallarta. After someone before us checked out late, the room hadn’t been cleaned and the cleaning staff were finished for the day. So it wasn’t ready for us until a couple hours after the usual check-in time. The Condo staff and owner were very helpful coordinating to get it clean enough for our first night with clean sheets and towels and arranged for the full cleaning the next morning. They were very apologetic and Dr. Hessem (? apologies) refunded the rental fee for the first night. Excellent resolution. Thank you. Would like to come back again to relax another time.

We had the most amazing stay here. It was the perfect getaway, it was quiet, the pool was amazing and the view was breathtaking. We were there for 11 days and sad to leave. Definitely planning to come back.
My only suggestion would be to do your grocery shopping before arriving. There are some small stores in Mismiloya for basics but anything else you may want you will have to go to a bigger store and after a while the cab rides add up. A small inconvenience for a beautiful vacation.

We've enjoyed Mismaloya for years but never stayed over night. This property has a beautiful view, comfortable accommodations and everything we were looking for in a 2-night get away. We will be back for sure. Thank you for sharing your home with us

Condo sits overlooking a beautiful harbor that is home to this condo and a big hotel resort. The water, though not Caribbean blue, was pleasant to swim in or just sit back and enjoy the view. Beach restaurants were good with a wide selection of food and drinks. We had a great time.

Very nice condo unit. Pool very nice, condo in great shape and spacious. Sunset views are off the chart. Walk to beach.

Large beautiful condo where you can hear the waves crash in paradise. What a value in beautiful Mismaloya. If you have ever stayed at a rental property in MX, I assure you this one will make it pale in comparison. Such an excellent location and amazing stairs down the cliff to go directly to beach. Our pool was a more comfortable temp than the $500 Barcelo’s next door! Secure building with security 24/7.
Little imperfections: lightbulbs and remote batteries out (common when owner lives out of country). Blackout curtains really are needed in bedroom. Yes there is a little road noise in the bedroom, it is because the building is built on a cliff. The retaining wall sort of funnels some of the noise downward and even though it’s 2 floors down from the lobby (ocean facing) it’s unavoidable. You don’t see any cars. Well worth it for us, was more like a little rumbling and we brought a sound machine.
Suggestions:
-confirm check-in with owner the day before
-TIP the front desk every time and they will be wonderfully warm and helpful especially if you need cabs. We got a GREAT fare to the airport. They are not hotel staff, they are going out of their way to help you out so show appreciation.
-Use pesos. This area is rough for getting change you don’t want to deal with dollars.
-Only $20 USD massages on the beach for an hour!
-Sand fleas on the beach, this is unavoidable but plan appropriately.
-Grocery shop early, there are only OXXO convenience stores nearby
-Checkout the Zoo nearby it’s really amazing and you get to feed all the animals for $12. For $90 total my son got to hold a baby tiger and lion.
ENJOY!!

We had some trouble finding the condo (our taxi driver couldn’t locate the property by just the address) without knowing the name of the condos (La Jolla de Mismaloya). The owner has since posted the name which should alleviate that problem in the future. This was an amazing place to stay. Beautiful views, great area, and we took advantage of the bus stop directly across the street with the bus that comes every eight minutes to Old Town. We will be staying here again!

We spent 10 days in this condominium and came away reasonably satisfied with it. The price was OK, the location charming, and the time passed quickly. We got our money's worth. A few positive notes:
1. Beautiful view from the patio - and spectacular sunsets!
2. Walking distance from numerous restaurants, "quick shops" in the village, and the beach.
3. Air conditioning really works well.
4. Comfortable bed.
5. Nice pool and hot tub with OK availability of lounges/chairs.
We had read other reviews mentioning that the condo was in need of maintenance and that wi-fi service was spotty or unavailable at times and both those were true. We came equipped for hot-spot operations and unlimited cell data plans, but that didn't help much - afternoons and evenings are virtually useless.
The maintenance issues:
1. Both showers drain very slowly.
2. Guest bathroom shower will leak water on the floor if shower hits it directly - sealing is deteriorated.
3. There are 2 screws/nuts sticking up out of the bathroom floor in front of the toilet in the guest bath. You do NOT want to step on these barefooted!
4. There is no sink stopper in the kitchen - had to use a washcloth stuffed into the drain to wash dishes.
(NOTE: Condo management is not going to do much about all that - they will tell you it's the owner's responsibility.) I passed those items to the owner and he intends to take action.)
Some items of interest and outright irritants:
1. Lights are controlled by a combination of switches and remotes - no instructions - you'll have to figure it out.
2. Combo washer/dryer is all in Spanish - no instructions - you'll have to figure that out too.
3. No security safe in the room - front desk only.
4. There are thin curtains that allow light to flood the unit, but from mid-afternoon on the patio and living room are in full sun - no sun-blocking shades like some other units have.
5. Living room couch and chairs are a little too broken down - not very comfortable.
6. Beach access from the condo is only there at low tide - otherwise you have to walk around through the village to it.
7. Several little restaurants on the beach have a good menu, but wear some bug repellant on your legs. (They close at sundown) Couldn't identify the bugs but they will chew you!
8. Bus runs about every 30 min to Puerto Vallarta and back. About 50 cents fare. Taxi will cost about $15 each way.
9. Several good restaurants - check locations and hours.
