Quaint ground floor guest house in historic Beaufort, NC.
About this bed and breakfast
Enjoy the charming atmosphere of this one-bedroom carriage house nestled on the prettiest street in Beaufort. This cozy apartment is a separate structure on the property of the historic John Rumley House, circa 1854. Sit on the patio under the canopy of a pecan tree, meander past the beautifully restored pre-revolutionary and antebellum homes, or take a short stroll to the waterfront. No need for a car as this location is within a leisurely walk to all areas in downtown Beaufort. This includes the ferries that will take you to Carrot Island, Shackleford Banks and Cape Lookout. No need to bother with downtown parking meters. Inside the house there is an open living-kitchen area with one bedroom and a full bathroom. There are no stairs to navigate on this property, and beautiful tile floors make for easy transitions. The master has a queen-size bed with exquisite all cotton bedding and ample dresser and closet space. A full bath comes complete with all cotton towels and and assortment of toiletries for your convenience. A full-size pull-out, in the living area, can accommodate one or two more guests. A fully stocked kitchen will enable easy meal times or, if you rather, refer to the guest information book to choose a restaurant downtown. If you like to grill, there are several, including a smoker, at your disposal. An outside patio with chairs, umbrella, and cafe lights set the scene for your outdoor enjoyment. Both on and off street parking is available. Beach chairs can be made available for use. video with a view of house from above a guest did during a visit. https://youtu.be/jVo9b_xm5tk

Lovely cottage just a block back from the waterfront in Beaufort; the kitchen is nicely stocked and the patio is perfect for morning coffee (although it's also an easy walk to good coffee shops).

This was the perfect place for a long weekend getaway! Jim and his family (of course including the cutest dogs ever) were the perfect hosts. They made our stay so comfortable. They thought of absolutely everything! It was so clean and decorated beautifully. We will definitely be staying with them again!! Thanks y'all!!!

The property is conveniently located in the heart of Beaufort, within walking distance to restaurants, shopping and the waterfront. There is ample street parking. The unit was very clean, and it is larger in person than the photos represent. We had a very comfortable stay and would stay there again!

Such a hidden gem. We loved our stay at this little cottage. It was clean, comfortable and surprisingly big enough for our family of 4 for the long weekend trip. If you love the historic homes of Beaufort, you will love the location of this property.

This apartment was as lovely as the photos on-line showed. It was spacious, bright with light from windows and colorful, comfortable couch and chairs. the bedroom and bed were perfect, attractive and a fine sleep, with an ceiling fan too. The kitchen was well stocked with an open floor plan to move around in. Everything I needed or wanted I found in the kitchen.

Clean, comfortable and convenient to everything in town. Suitable for long or short term stay.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay - the weather was perfect but would be content to “stay in” and relax as well. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Excellent place to stay in Beaufort.
The guest house is in a very nice part of Beaufort and it is a 10 minute walk to the heart of the town. The walk to town is easy, typically one side of the street is shaded, and nearly every house from there to town has character and a historic marker.
The house was clean and comfortable. Our hosts left a nice basket of snacks for us. The bed was firm and nice. The den area with the TV was great for 2 of us. It could be a little tight for 2 couples (fold out couch), but if you're good friends, it's easily doable.
This was our first VRBO and it was an excellent experience.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Thanks for the snacks. My only complaint, if you want to call it that, was the bed was too firm for us. Thanks again.

This location is quiet and comfy with just a short walk to the water, coffee shop, and restaurants. The welcome "treats" from the host made our day (on multiple days)! The door key could have been easier to use and the shower could be improved but overall clean, comfortable and cool - would stay here again!

Quaint little cottage
Our stay in Beaufort was wonderful. Our accommodations were cozy, comfortable and met all our needs and more. The owner, Jim was very hospitable and always replied to answer any questions.
Beaufort is a lovely little town and the cottage is within walking distance to plenty of restaurants and shops. The Maritime museum downtown is filled with information with hands on displays which is great for children.
We hope to visit again and highly recommend this sweet cottage.

We loved our stay in this adorable cottage. Everything is clean and comfortable. The welcome basket was a nice surprise. Everything is within walking distance to the cottage. The owner is attentive and that is a bonus benefit. I come to Beaufort often and have already recommended others stay here. Will defiently be back in the spring. Thank you for making our anniversary vacation smooth sailing.

Great location with all the touches of home!
We were only in town for a couple of days, but this cottage was in the perfect location - walking to distance to everything! It was cozy and felt just like home —even had Netflix! Would definitely stay there again.

Cottage House
My daughter and I had a wonderful stay. The guest house was clean, the kitchen was well equipped, and the bathroom was a good size with soft new towels. The only thing I would recommend is fixing the lock on the sliding glass door. It's difficult to lock and locks the wrong way. Not a problem once you get used to it, but a bit tricky.

Best find in Beaufort
We were married in Beaufort 13 years ago and have stayed in various locations there there many times. This property is ideal in every way - centrally located, well appointed, reasonably priced, private and the owner provides excellent service. Can’t say enough good things about it. Highly suggest taking the option to rent the upstairs unit in combination with downstairs if you have more than 2-3 people. It allows for two separate living quarters which are naturally connected but still create a comfortable separation. Plus, the owner is an audiophile and the upstairs has a legitimate home theater system. Going forward this is the only place we will stay in Beaufort.

Beaufort Guest House
Quiet, clean, just refurbished guest house tucked away 2 blocks from busy Front street. Within walking distance from historic Beaufort shops, restaurants, maritime museum and beautiful Taylor creek. Owner and manager both communicate well and made sure we had comfortable accommodations. We look forward to staying here again.
