About this condo rental
Located in Sitka, this attractive condo for $232 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Situated across the street from the ocean (Sitka Sound), A Water's Edge is a very spacious and cozy one bedroom, one bath, fully furnished and private apartment. It is well appointed and designed with a coastal theme in quaint Sitka, Alaska. You'll never be bored with the endless activity we call the "water life." Relax on the deck in the early morning or evening and watch for whales, sea lions and sea otter. Fishing boats coming and going after a days catch or even tour ships cruising by are beautiful sites. You will also have the opportunity to view bald eagles soaring or diving low to the water as they grasp their catch in their talons. The eagles are here year ‘round but the best time for abundant sea life is during the herring season (March-April). Your comfort is our goal, and we have supplied everything you can possibly need to feel right at home. We go far beyond the basics and you have quality linens, plush towels, and a supply of comfy comforters and extra pillows. A thick patch of salmon berry bushes in the yard allows plenty of mid to late summer picking. You can also enjoy gathering around our private fire pit nestled in thick foliage of berry bushes and ferns. Enjoy friends, cook a meal, roast s’mores all while enjoying the ocean view. There are countless activities in Sitka and especially several hiking trails to explore. Each season has an array of festivities from winter to summer including the Sitka Summer Musical Festival, craft bazaars and art markets. You can rent kayaks for the day and paddle around the islands close by. We hope you choose Sitka and A Water’s Edge for your next fun vacation! (Summer is busier and you will hear traffic noise).

We loved our three night’s at A Water’s Edge! Comfortable and cozy, with every amenity we needed, and fabulous views of the water. (We enjoyed sitting in the comfy recliners and watching the boat traffic go by.) Centrally located to everything we wanted to do, too.
We’ll definitely stay here again.

It’s is not far from town with an unobstructed view to the sea. It was fun to watch the fishing boats coming and going.
The property is very clean and the kitchen well stocked. Bed linens, pillows and towels are very comfortable.
We loved it and would recommend to anyone visiting Sitka.

Stayed at the Waters Edge for the most memorable and wonderful week.
Joan and John owners were absolutely the most wonderful host to this great gem.
We found this gem to be very clean and fit our needs right down to the beautiful mornings and evenings. Setting on the front deck was amazing. We watched fishing boats leave and return daily watched sealions play.
Joan and John invited us to sit by the fire with them one night and we had the best time. They were the most amazing hosts.
I would recommend this rental to anyone. We hated to leave.
Our next trip to Alaska we will definitely be returning here for our future stays in Sitka. I can't say it enough this is truly a gem.

My husband and I spent 6 days in Sitka with our 8 year old grandson. The house was just perfect, well stocked and kept. We went whale watching, my grandson caught a salmon, we went to the raptor center, Fortress of the bear and many other activities. The hosts were very helpful and the house was exactly as described. We will be back!!🤗

Amazing views
my wife and I just concluded a two week vacation with one week in Ketchian and one in Sitka. this Sitka home is across the street from the ocean. you have a beautiful ocean view from the comfy recliners and large windows and sliding doors. Joan was as good a host as you will ever have. the place is clean. the beds and furniture is comfortable. there's a deck right outside the sliding doors. we were able to use their fire pit to make smores and they provided the wood, newspaper and igniter to start the fire. she even brought us a salmon dip, brie cheese and crackers. they also provided bear spray for hiking which fortunately we didn't need. my wife and I would definitely stay here again!

This is a great place to stay - awesome views of the ocean and the setting sun. The house is well-stocked with towel, linens and kitchen needs, and the owners have taken great care in finishes and making it feel like home. It's very clean and the layout is perfect as the two recliners look directly out on the water. The adjustable blinds are also a plus to allow you to see the sights without direct sun. It's warm, bright and cozy and the owners went out of their way to make things easy (and quick responses to questions or needs). We will definitely rent again on our next trip to Sitka.

Not as shown in pictures
The property seems to show that it is beach front. However, it is not and there is a busy road in between the house and the beach. In addition, the property was extremely loud as there were many cars passing by through the night. Would not recomend this location.

Wonderful Home and Hosts
This home is immaculately cared for with a large kitchen, comfortable furniture, nice towels, and comfy bed. The hosts are wonderful and accommodating. Spectacular views through large windows The only drawback is the home’s location on the surprisingly busy Halibut Point Road. However, it was overall a very good base for our stay.

Place was very clean and stocked with everything a visitor will need, even bear spray. Grab a few groceries and your set. Joan was nice and easy to deal with.

Great hospitality, view, & comfort
Impressive view of water / islands. Many, many nice touches by owner - coupled with a spacious, comfortable, and very well-equipped apartment - resulted in a first-class lodging experience. Only draw-back is the road in front of the house, but the elevation helps mask it.

Perfect!
By far one of the nicest VRBO’s I’ve stayed in and I travel a lot for business. It’s the little thoughtful details that make this place so special and truly feel like a home and not just a stop over. The view is beautiful, the location convenient and the home is spotless. Has absolutely everything you need and then some! Will definitely be back and would highly recommend.

Sitka stay
A Water’s Edge was the perfect spot for our 4 day stay in Sitka. While our grandson was at the Fine Arts Camp, my husband and I went kayaking and hiking. Joan was super helpful with all our questions before and after our stay. We barbecued hamburgers one night and enjoyed the beautiful views. It’s a gorgeous property.

Excellent in every way!
We will stay here again and again! Joan and John were wonderful hosts, helping us to feel comfortable immediately upon arrival. They provided everything we could have possibly needed and they live right on the property so they were right there if we had any questions. The view was incredible, as promised, and they provided excellent “tips from the locals” which we happily took advantage of. I would highly recommend this vacation rental to anyone traveling to Sitka!

Awesome home!
We stayed here during Christmas. Joan made us feel so welcome. Even treated us to homemade ice cream and brownies. The view is beautiful as well as the home.Everything you need. Home away from home!

Beautiful home with breathtaking views
Excellent hosts who thought of everything their guests would ever want or need when they set up the lower level of their home for a vacation rental! Tastefully decorated and so inviting and welcoming. Joan was a kind and gracious hostess! Everything you would need is at your fingertips and it’s obvious they both care about their guests comfort. Would definitely recommend their rental! You won’t find anything that tops it in Sitka! Amazing deck to grill on or just sit back and enjoy the breathtaking views! The fire pit was cozy and perfect for cool evenings. We have stayed in other places in Sitka but won’t ever stay anywhere other than A Water’s Edge in the future.

The Waters Edge is a very special place and won our hearts with all surrounding Beauty of Sitka, AK. The apartment is extremely comfortable with every detail
Of comfort considered. The large amount of glass windows provide a paramount view which encompasses the islands, boat travel, otters, humpback whales, soaring eagles and stately Mt Edgecumbe in the background. The hosts , John and Joan ensure every detail of your stay is comfortable and you feel welcomed. The apartment itself is beautifully decorated, exceptionally clean and generous in size. You will cherish your time there should you choose to stay as a guest at this incredible slice of heaven.
