Sleeping Arrangements: 1 Queen in bedroom 1 Queen in the loft (sleeping room only) Amenity Highlights: * Full-sized, fully furnished kitchen (no dishwasher) * Smart TVs with complimentary Netflix * Complimentary WIFI "Know Before You Go" Check in is after 3PM. Check out is before 10AM. ‣ Off-site rental agreement and security deposit may be required. ‣ Visitors: not staying overnight are welcomed, loud, disruptive parties are not. ‣ Check out instructions: We ask that you wash your dishes and pick up any trash left outdoors including cigarette butts ‣ BYO Beach Towels: There is a pond/beach area on site. We only provide bath towels. ‣ Located 1 mile from Lake of Egypt Dam, Pyramid Acres Marina, and Mack's Marina ‣ Total of 3 cabins and 1.5 acre pond sits on 5 acres behind our home estate, separated by a privacy fence. ‣ Our Great Dane, Rocco, and lab mix, Ariel, greet guests on occasion. ‣ Firewood: We provide firewood. ‣ Inventory: We provide a "starter package" of inventory for our cabin: 3 rolls of T.P. and 1 full roll of paper towels. ‣ House Manual: Our house manual is 100% online. Live music plays on weekends at the local bait store and Pyramid Acres Marina during lake season- it carries across the field to the cabins. PET POLICY $30.00 pet fee is applicable, per pet, per stay.

Loved it! Very clean and cozy cabin, and the pond and fire pit in the back were great for us and the kids.

Damn near perfect. Only issue is I mistakenly checked into the wrong cabin. It was dark and cold, however.

What a great way to spend time away. Close enough to wineries and Fern Clyffe State Park. The Teal Door cabin was so comfortable. The campfire was very nice too. Our host was amazing and I will be coming back.

Very clean with nearly everything one would need. Free firewood for our evening fires was an unexpected plus. The owners were super friendly.
My only complaint would be the proximity to a soybean field. We happened to show up when they were being harvested (late Sept) and the harvesting went on until 8:00 in the evening. This created a lot of dust. If you have allergies or COPD, you may want to inquire.
There is no way the owners could have known when the field was being harvested and was very apologetic. It only went on for the one evening.
Everything else was very nice and I would recommend this place to anyone.
Oh yes, the chickens are quite friendly!

Our stay was short and sweet. We came to visit SIU, arrived late & were up & out early the next morning but the place was perfect for our needs. Next time we’ll stay longer. Thanks for hosting us!

Relaxation at it's best! This is a must do. We would definitely return. The mattress was a little uncomfortable and our only issue but, everybody is different. We have told all of our family and friends this is a must do.

Beautiful and quiet. You would never know there are two other rental properties close by. They allow dogs too! My partner and I had the most relaxing evening using the paddle boards on the little lake in back. This place is a gem and I will provide my highest recommendation to others looking for a weekend get-a-way!

Wife and I fell in love with this cabin. Spacious, quiet, very modern, and full of little details. Close to plenty of Shawnee National Forest attractions/trails and Lake of Egypt. Marion is just a 10 - 15 min drive to plenty of food options. Would definitely stay here again.

My partner and I enjoyed staying at the Teal Door Cabin! The hosts provided a lot of basic necessary items so we hardly had to bring much "house" stuff at all! Everything was neat, clean, very organized, and nicely labeled. We noticed on our first night the fridge wasn't closing properly but it wasn't an issue for us since we didn't need to use the fridge. We enjoyed having the little lake nearby, it was very peaceful and we cannot wait to come back and bring others with us!

Great location and stay, very peaceful and nice facility. Do have some positive condtructive suggestions that I trust youcwould welcome:
1.) hardly take a shower due to low water flow, and 2.) mattress needs replaced as it sounds and feels like it is stuffed with papers!

The tiny house had everything we needed for a fun getaway weekend in Southern Illinois. The setting on the pond is beautiful for watching sunsets by the campfire. Communication with the hostess and the check in process were great. The location feels remote but close to everything you might need - food, hiking, wineries, groceries. Little touches like games, firewood and books were also a huge plus. Loved being able to take our dogs, too!

We had a beautiful and amazing stay at the micro-cabin in Marion. We loved the area and felt like the cabin was a home away from home. We would have stayed longer if we could have! We will definitely be back!

Exploring around SIU
The Teal Door Cabin did not disappoint. Such a cute, well decorated and super clean micro-cabin! Full size kitchen and bathroom with everything you need. Being able to bring our dogs was the icing on the cake! Loved sitting on the deck overlooking the pond, so relaxing. I would highly recommend if you’re looking for a glamping experience.

Check in was very easy. Wifi worked great. Super quiet. Bed was very comfortable. Full kitchen with everything necessary to make your own meals. Plenty of towels. Perfect for vacation or visiting family in the area.

this cabin had everything i could possibly need or want for a little getaway just for me. it was super comfy and in a great location. the host was attentive and check in was a breeze. keep in mind that two of the cabins are kind of close together and it's a super quiet space.

Perfect getaway!
This cute little house was all we needed for a trip to Southern Illinois. It was clean and quiet and the property owner had thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. We would certainly stay here again!
