Sunsets Cottage on Clear Lake is a modern executive cottage (completely renovated in 2015) located on a very private property on beautiful prestigious Clear Lake on the Trent Waterway System. Virtually unlimited boating to anywhere including restaurants and resorts. It is a 1.5 hour drive from Toronto (20 minutes north of Peterborough or 10 minutes north of Lakefield). Sunsets Cottage on Clear Lake is offered to discerning clients who demand modern amenities, yet appreciate a cottage feel. It offers excellent swimming, boating and fishing - abundance of bass, pickerel and muskie (many large fish caught right off the end of the dock) and is a 2 min boat ride to scenic Stoney Lake. There is extensive decking overlooking Clear Lake with a western exposure providing stunning sunsets. Sunsets Cottage on Clear Lake is an executive 4 season cottage/home with special features and quality amenities not typically available with rental properties. This cottage provides both luxury and comfort with an open concept layout including a 24'x24' Great room with vaulted pine ceilings, floor to ceiling stone gas fireplace and wide plank hickory engineered wood flooring throughout. Large windows across front and back providing panoramic views, modern kitchen with high-end appliances and quartz counters, luxurious bathroom with walk-in glass shower, 4 bedrooms - 3 on main level (master has walkout to deck overlooking lake) and 1 on lower level (3 queens, 1 log Bunk-bed with double and single), family room on lower level with walk-out to large patio overlooking lake, 3 large flat screen TVs, Satellite, WIFI and home theater sound system. There is over 1800 sq ft of decking and patios with quality outdoor furniture. You can walk into the water or dive off a 32' dock into 11' of weed free water. The indoor water comes from a well with UV system and water softener. Notes: A $1500.00 Damage Deposit is required 30 days prior to check in - Preferred method is Interac e-Transfer. The Damage Deposit will be returned to you by Interac e-Transfer once the property/cottage has been inspected by the owner (within 7 business days). Other Services/Fees (optional): 1. It was a great property with amazing views. Only small irks. Had eight people staying and there were only 7 bath towels provided. Same with beach towels that were identified as 'supplied' - there were only 4 and two were clearly 'kid sized. A salad spinner would be a good add to the kitchen. Otherwise an amazing property! Thank you for renting to us.

The lake house is very comfortable, welcoming and well appointed. The lake is super quiet providing a great relaxing space. When boaters do go by they collectively drive very close to shore. Swimmers be aware. The lower level is musty so people with allergies need to stay upstairs. There is a dehumidifier and we had great dry weather so windows opened helped. It’s not far from Lakefield which has everything you need and great if you are the sort who needs to get into town everyday or so.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this cottage. The location, view and lake access were exactly what we were looking for and the cottage accommodated 8 adults comfortably. The kitchen was excellent and the hosts provided essential spices and all that we could have wanted. The layout was also great in the cottage to afford everyone private space. I highly recommend this property.

Our stay was great. The cottage was spotless when we arrived. It's located on a quiet road just 15 min to Lakefield. The swimming is great, the cottage has everything you could need and is very neat + tidy. My son loved the basement bedroom which is built to accommodate the rock underneath the cottage - it was like a kid cave. The large cottage deck is great for meals and sunsets. The walk from the cottage down to the lake is adorned with a well cared for garden - it's lovely.

This property was incredible! It checked off all of our boxes, and even the boxes we didn't anticipate. I would definitely recommend this property to others, and I would stay there again next time I'm in the area.

We were looking for a dog friendly luxurious lake home for our summer vacation... and we could not have found a better place. The cottage was pure luxury, with all the cozy amenities of home. There were two floors with two separate living areas, which made it easy to share with another couple. The lake was warm and clean with easy dock access. The hosts were both very approachable and responded to all of our questions. The town of Lakefield was the perfect distance when we needed to replenish groceries. There is an awesome butcher and artisan food market and an lcbo. Thank you Steve and Sigrid, for sharing your lake house with us.

This cottage was absolutely worth every penny. The owners have done an amazing job creating a luxury lakeside home with all of the comforts that we have become accustomed to in the city. The lake was a lovely temperature and clean for swimming. I want to go back again...

Came for a weekend in October with a family of 7. Too cold for water activities, but the cottage is lovely and the view of the lake is as good as it gets when its too cold to be outside! Not too bad a drive from downtown Toronto (~2 hours).
