Horrible experiencia

No me gustó nada en absoluto

La habitación no correspondía a las fotos anunciadas, reservè una con una mesita y en cambio habia una cama supletoria en sh lugar, las instalaciones muy desgastadas, la puerta de la habitación no se cerraba del todo, la madera abajo estaba torcida y podía entrar cualquier bicho, el olor pésimo al entrar en la habitación, la cama durísima imposible dormir, las toallas, sabanas y manta no te daban la sensación de estar limpias del todo, la escobilla del baño inutilizable, la alfombra de plástico de la ducha sucia no he podido ducharme. El desayuno regular la comida estaba fría, y el personal nos quería organizar ya la cena, tour y todo no más llegar. Horrible experiencia, sobretodo el hecho de que no me he sentido comoda en la habitación ni un minuto. No lo aconsejo a nadie

Le personnel est sympa et serviable.

L'équipement est médiocre (lit non confortable, les chambres sont froides et le chauffage manque, pas de commodité dans les chambres pas de TV), l'eau n'est pas assez chaude, fenêtre ancienne et sans isolation thermique.

Amazing, perfection location and ever so clean. Good breakfast

Staff were amazing, so helpful, really went out their way to make us feel comfortable. Rooms were spacious and so clean. Location so easy to get to. Would definitely book again 👍

The Riad is exactly like the pictures, it's gorgeous! Said was super helpful and nice!!! I would definitely recommend this accommodation. Amazing value for price.

Locationwise, it was a little far from the center of the medina. Maybe a half-an-hour walk... but it was easy to get a taxi if you walk some 3 minutes!

Great Dar with amazing staff

The manager, Mustapha, made me feel right at home at Bab Guissa. I could ask him anything and he would go out of his way to arrange it for me, even during Ramadan. He always responded quickly to messages with questions and was very pro-active, for example in arranging a taxi for me to the airport. Him and Nassima were very flexible, for example, the breakfast was always ready for me whenever I requested it to be. The location is very good, easiest to take a taxi (3 mins) from Bab Guissa to Bab Boujloud in order not to get lost in the streets to the medina. I found this out too late, after getting lost by myself a couple of times. But walking is fine when you have internet and Google maps :)

That I forgot to take a selfie with Mustapha and Nassima, that's how much I felt at home with them. It felt like I was staying with friends.

Charming Riad on the side of the Medina

A charming, lovely riad in the outskirts of the Medina, close to the main road, which makes it both easier to find and quieter (but also a little bit more distant from the bustling center of the Medina). The decoration is really nice, the room was ample, clean, fresh, and quiet. The breakfast was very complete, diverse, and tasty. And last but not least, Mustapha was a a thoughtful host, explaining us everything we needed, making sure we didn't lack of anything (SIM card, change, advices...) and checking on us every day - a true professionnal.

Would be a good idea to add a curtain to the shower, to avoid spilling water everywhere. Also, it's a good idea to keep the bathroom door closed at all time to keep away the bad smell from the tubes.

Very helpful and nice staff. Good localisation.

The photos looks much better than reality. The place seems old and not very well kept. It's smelly and the rooms were pretty cold. It was also not very clean.

Clean & comfortable stay at this riad!

Room was clean and comfortable, the host Mustapha was very helpful and was quick to provide us with anything we needed during our stay. It's only a 5 min walk from Bab Guissa (one of the gates to the walled city) which was super convenient since cars can't enter so you don't have to walk far with your suitcases. Beautiful dining area and terrace. Would highly recommend!

Great host, less great riad

Mustapha was a very nice and welcoming host for us. He was very helpfull and always trying to make our stay in the riad and the city as comfortable as possible. Something positive about the location: it is super close to all the highlights of the city. Once again, thanks Mustapha for your hospitality.

The riad itself was not great. First we got a torn up towel that was clearly used by previous guests. It was solved, but not a great start. Also the bathroom didn't look very clean. During the 2 days we stayed at the riad there was no warm water in the shower. Reaching the riad by taxi is fine, it's very close to the taxi stand. But walking through the neighboorhoud as a tourist at night, doesn't feel safe.

Clean, Comfortable, I felt at home.

The place was very nice, clean, cosy, I love the decoration, very traditional. We were looking for something near a gate, and this Riad has a very nice location (around 5 min by foot where the taxi leaved us) so, it was easy to take our luggage and arrive to the accommodation. The guy who was in charge of the Riad was very nice, kind and helpful, he received us with Moroccan tea, and was able to help whenever we need it! That is important when you are traveling 🙂 thank you Mustafa! The place has a rooftop where you can see all the city. The breakfast was good.

This is an amazing place. I loved it. It is very clean. And what makes the place more amazing is Mustapha! He is an amazing guy that would do everything to make you feel at home. He is doing a great job there. I highly recommend the place to anyone who wants to go to Fes.

Good value for money

Great location to arrive from the airport and/or train station.Also good to get to the Medina main streets walking.Really good breakfast.Mustafá was helping us with everything what we need.

Excellent accomodation with the greatest host

The experience at Bab Dar Guissa was excellent. From the very beginning until the end, Mustapha provided every comfort for us and made sure we were always satisfied during our trip. After being welcomed with mint tea, we found the bigger rooms to be comfortable and spacious. We were advised good restaurants where to eat, which were also at walking distance from the hotel, and whenever we needed transport, Mustapha helped us arrange it. It is possible to walk from the hotel to the heart of the medina, as the tanneries are not far and neither is Bab Boujloud, even though Bab Guissa is slightly out of the way compared to other gates. Last but not least, the food provided by the hotel was lovely, our breakfasts were always a discovery and we enjoyed every bite.

The smaller rooms were too warm with poor ventilation, the bathrooms were old and lacking toiletries (shower gel, toilet paper, etc), and the doors were difficult to lock.

Great value

Beautiful cozy hotel in the Medina. Nice breakfast and confortable rooms. Very nice and dedicated staff. Aziz is super feiendly, he gave us great explanations and recommendations about the city, helped us booking tours and made sure that we enjoyed our stay. Would highly recommend!

Wonderful staff and a very clean, homely and comfortable riad

I set out to spend some time in Fes and explore it at a slower pace this visit, but I did not expect to feel this much at home and so quickly. I was first welcomed by Yassine, a wonderful host who was there for any request and question, professional, courteous and always ready to help. I then had the great pleasure of meeting Aziz who is an asset to any business - quick, helpful, knowledgeable and a great character. The riad itself is an excellent value for money and very few small tweaks would have made it a luxurious stay. As it stands now, Ekram is doing a wonderful job at keeping it spotless and a truly pleasant experience. Ekram, Yassine and Aziz - any hospitality business should count itself lucky to have you. Thank you for the wonderful time.

As mentioned above, small tweaks would make the riad easily feel more luxurious. However, this is all decorative and if you are looking for a homely stay, with wonderful staff (especially as a solo female traveller), this is a great choice.

The riad is very nice, it was clean and Asis was really helpful and nice to us

The A/C didn’t work, he tried to fix it but couldn’t. We had to sleep in a very hot room but we couldn’t sleep even with the windows open. We spend one of our worst nights because they didn’t even have a fan

The riad is beautiful, very quiet, the breakfast is impeccable. Aziz was so kind and helpful, I highly recommend this place !

If you stay in the rooms downstairs, you might be woken up by people having breakfast.
