Great first experience of Uganda

Friendly and welcoming guest house. Lovely room. Restaurant meant we could eat when we wanted. Lovely views over the lake. Picked us up from the airport. Facilitated receiving a delivery for us and directing our guests. Great place to start our adventure.

Looked like there was an old swimming pool there - how amazing if it was used as one.

Disappointing. Multiple stays in the past under the previous owner were always excellent.

Good food

We booked a 'room with a lake view', which cost more, but were put in a room at the back with no lake view. When I queried this, we were told that the prices had gone up and we would not get any kind of refund

Great view & food, quiet, close to airport

Great view, good food, quite surroundings, close to airport.

The warm water in our room was not working when we first arrived, but this was fixed. Also, the staff misunderstood when to clean the rooms, but this was also fixed.

nothing really except they were not planning on us coming and the property was locked when we got there. I had to get the owner out of bed :-)

Very good

Staff is fabulous - friendly, available, super helpful. The outdoor area is so great in the evening: great lighting, music, and food. Excellent view.

Some details were missing, which was a bit disappointing. I had to request the standard bathroom toiletries, the room was hot (and ceiling fan far too loud to use while sleeping), very weak water pressure, and no hot water either day of my stay. I was really looking forward to a bath like my last visit and discovered after unpacking that my room had no tub - shower only. I wish I'd known to request this beforehand. My room was lovely but the closest one to the patio, literally 10 feet from a noisy group of diners until well after I'd have liked to be asleep.

Great. Would stay again!!

The food was great. I got the standard breakfast, and the scrambled eggs were the best I have ever had! The bathroom was clean. The indoor and outdoor sitting areas were beautiful. The staff was so nice and helpful.

The bathroom had a lot of spider webs with bugs in them in the corners, but that is hard to prevent in Uganda. The building seems a little older, so my room only had one outlet, but it was near the bed with an extension cord which helps out a lot!

Serene stay in Entebbe

- Beautiful location. Great views over Lake Victoria and Entebbe airport. Only a short drive from the airport and central Entebbe shops etc. - Lovely quiet and peaceful environment. - We were in a comfortable room with a garden view; very nice. - Staff were very friendly and helpful. Always willing to help out with any requests we had. - We enjoyed the meals we had there. Good cooking and good service.

- Just one small thing. There were some clothes left in the cupboard in our room. It looked like this area had escaped the most recent cleaning of the room. This was an exception though. The rest of the room was spotless.

Great view, great food and great hosts

Carpe diem guesthouse has warm and welcoming hosts and a homely feeling. It feels like a home away from home. We received excellent service and had the best Nile perch ever for dinner. The owners really walked the extra mile to make sure we were comfortable. The place is quiet, green, clean and certainly the best place in Entebbe to catch the sunset over the lake. Entebbe is a small place and Carpe Diem is in walking distance to all tourist attractions inclusive shopping malls and cafes. We would love to come back!
