The property was nice and the room was clean and comfortable. The staff was polite, welcoming and helpful

Casa Mara was an oasis of calm in the midst of Dakar madness. The staff were friendly and helpful. The rooftop restaurant is lovely and food good quality

the rooms were very sparsely decorated, nothing on the walls. very drab. No amenities, old soiled blankets and the place had roaches. I felt like I was away at camp. The WiFi was weak and the television didn’t work. Also there was NO privacy for using the toilet!

whilst the property is a little tired they are continually undertaking maintenance and upgrading rooms which is good to see. The location was perfect for my requirements it was close to family I was visiting. The breakfast was excellent and the courtyard seating area made it a lovely start to the day. The small swimming pool was a bonus but there was not much direct sunshine to sit in due to the trees but I’m sure these give excellent shade during the hotter months. The staff on reception were very friendly and helpful as were the cleaning staff. The roof top bar and restaurant was excellent and Edward who served up there was exceptional.

As in many African countries there were unfortunately some insects around but the hotel did provide sprays to minimise their appearance.

The property is old and tired but colourful and friendly, very welcoming for a single traveller. lovely courtyard to sit in and where you take breakfast which is very good. The roof top bar and restaurant is excellent. The food was amazing and the service excellent by Edward.

I booked an apartment so it would have a kitchen and particularly a fridge. the ‘kitchen’ was out on the balcony, a gas hob but no kitchen utensils or crockery etc. I requested these on two occasions and they never appeared so I gave up. There was a fridge in the bedroom which was useful for drinks etc. The whole place is very tired and needs some serious maintenance but it does make you feel welcome and the beds are clean and comfortable.

Breakfast the same every, small plates to dish up, people cant communicate with you if you speak english, cant pay with credit card, menu is in French, so you dont know what you order and no one can tell you in english what you order.

The location was good. Staff was very friendly and nice. Roof top Restaurant and food was fabulous.

The lack of basic facilities in room. Like Kettle Tea or Coffee sachets. Unable to contact reception from room.
