A beautiful, blissful, break away.

I had a beautiful holiday stay at Astra Riad Damus. The riad was just slightly out of the main medina which provided a nice quiet atmosphere away from the busyness of Marrakesh. Simo was very welcoming and always there to give me the best recommendations for places to eat and visit and helped me find the best deals. All the staff here are helpful and kind and made me feel at home. A special thank you to the two wonderful women who cleaned my room and cooked me breakfast everyday!

Amazing stay in a beautiful Riad with the best host- Simohamed.

The Riad was stunning, immaculately kept and decorated beautifully. The breakfast spread prepared for us each morning was beautiful and a great variety of items which changed each day. The location was perfect, right next to the Souks. The staff were so lovely - Simohamed was the best host, looked after us well and helped with any need we had.

Great place for a good value

Great Place! The Staff was great. Ahmza and Abdo went above and beyond. They "helped" (they did everything) me throw a surprise for my wife on her birthday. The riad is very clean with good facilities. You can't get there by car, but Abdo will help with the luggage and guide you safely. They gave us tips on local restaurants and other places to visit.

if you are looking for a real old world traditional place to stay, this was a great raid.

the rooftop was a great place to sit, relax and have breakfast. we didn’t go up at night because we were tired from our adventures in the market but I’m sure it was amazing when it was all lit up in the evening. the breakfast was delicious and plentiful. the rooms were very quiet and dark- the best nights sleep we had in Morocco. the staff were all very friendly and helpful. a special thanks to Hamza who was so kind, funny, and informative. He recommended a place for dinner which was really great!

Exceptional

Loved the location in the medina. Don't let the outside fool you. The inside of the riad was beautiful. Hamza, at the desk wasvextremely helpful and came to the taxi stand a few blocks away to lead us to the hotel. There was a small pool on the rooftop which came in handy as the temperature rose to 100 Fahrenheit (40 centigrade)

Abdul and Hamza 10000000 stars

Beautiful, in the middle of the medina. perfect location with perfect staff. We visited only for 4 days but wish we stayed for longer - the riad along with the staff made our holiday very enjoyable. Comfortable beds, good breakfast and beautiful, clean riad. Abdul is the best, went out his way to make our stay better, we enjoyed his company, his tea and our talks everyday. Hamza also was very good, so informative and kind to us. We hope everyone who visits this riad gets the chance to meet Abdul and Hamza, the best in Morocco.

The most wonderful stay

The WiFi passport at Astra Damus is “welcome home”, and that’s exactly how we felt. This riad is absolutely incredible. Every time we got back to our room, we felt we had reached an oasis of silence and peace in the middle of the Medina craziness. Location is great, just a few minutes from Jemaa el-Fnaa. The cutest restaurant - with excellent dishes and good prices - is just next door, Marrakchiya. The rooms are spotlessly clean, very elegant, and the beds super comfortable. Breakfast is served on a beautiful terrace, and it’s delicious. I have to admit, what makes this place special is the staff, who is kind, attentive and professional. Hamzah, in particular, has been an angel to us. He helped us with everything we needed during our stay and answered each of my 700 questions with a smile on his face and always provided a solution. He quite simply did everything in his power to make our stay memorable, and he succeeded. He’s a wonderful person. If you are looking for a place to stay in Marrakech, look no further.

One of my best stays

Beautiful Riad run by kind people . Mr Mohammed and the Mr Salem were very kind and helpful . They treated us very kindly. We arrived late night thus we couldn't find dinner , they made sure that we do not sleep hungry and provided us with complimentary fruits. Breakfast was just delicious and wholesome. Also the room was so aesthetically designed.

Amazin place and lively people!

I must say I liked everything about this charming riad, from the traditional decorations to the very good location in the medina (walking distance to all must see museums, gardens and palaces). Also, very clean and the wifi was very good. Hamza, Mohamed and the staff were sooo nice supporting with everything I needed and giving advice around day trips, locations etc.

Great holiday, Great hotel.

The location in the old town was excellent and the guys running the hotel could not have been more helpful. They made the holiday. They arranged our day trips and airport transfers. They got up a 4 am to make sure that we met our taxi to transfer to the airport. I cannot speak highly enough of the friendliness of the staff. The room was clean and the hotel was exactly as it appeared on line. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom facilities were excellent. Breakfast was really good.

If you stay in the old town you have to accept that the hotel cannot have all the facilities of larger hotels. But that is the charm of it. I felt that I experienced the real Marrakech.

Not a pleasant experience

Location was very central but be aware cars can’t enter to the street. In case you book a taxi to pick you up you should agree on a different location

Rooms stink! There is a very bad small coming from toilet and it can even keep you awake whole night, very strong despite it being winter. Can’t imagine how bad it could be in winter. Also the staff charged us extra! Be careful they try to charge you for any small changes in your booking even though it is free if you had done this while booking. And they are very dishonest about this Breakfast was okay

The hotel is beautiful, clean, and in a perfect position: it is placed in one of the main areas of the Medina, but not in the more crowded ones. Therefore, the stay is perfect in terms of centrality and safety for daily tours in the historical center. The whole staff is wonderful: the take care of you in a very gentle and trustful way for any need and to provide you perfect suggestions since the very beginning. The place is very calm, rooms are clean and beautiful, top view on the Medina rooftops. The women staff will provide you a fantastic and genuine breakfast!

Highly recommend staying at Astra Damus

It's a beautiful Riad and the staff are very helpful, reassuring and kind. It can be frantic in the Medina so it's lovely to know that you can find refuge, rest and serenity in the haven that is Astra Damus. Breakfast was different and delicious everyday. The shower 🚿 was good and hot, great water pressure.

Unfortunately the pool was being renovated so I missed out on that feature. It didn't really matter to me but it would have been an extra bonus. Next time!

Great location for exploring Marrakech

The location was perfect for exploring Marrakech, very close to the souks. Jamal was an amazing help for us when we arrived late at night as he met us at the taxi and helped us to our room. The breakfast was very nice on the terrace (very bread/carb heavy though). Room was nice but quite dark, although I think a lot of riads are also quite dark. Aircon and shower worked great.

It was sometimes hard to communicate with the staff and we misunderstood that breakfast started at 8:30 rather than 8:00, so one morning when we came at 8:00 we were not treated very nicely even though we offered to come back later. The pool is also not clean so not really somewhere you'd dip into. The riad is also very close to a mosque so bear that in mind if you're planning on sleeping in.

It’s a pretty property with picturesque angles and props…. The staff went above and beyond to help make a romantic ambience for my partner and I in our room. They helped my friends and I find the best places to buy the things we were after and access lovely hammam and spa services….. The establishment is also well located and run within the medina, most things were within walking distance. The staff helped me find a piece of valuable sentimental jewellery which broke of my wrist after we checked out….. and ensured I had it before flying out of Marrakech. The staff stayed up late to ensure we got back in safe at night when we were out on a day trip. Superb folks honestly! The property is really pretty too

Not a complaint, but Just out of my overall traveller’s safety preferences, I’d have preferred a room that wasn’t on the ground floor. And the photo of the room I thought I’d be getting after upgrading on booking.com was different from the room I eventually got.

Excellent place!

Great place in the heart of Medina! We enjoyed staying in this hotel very much. Rooms are big and the place is decorated with local Maroccan style, which makes it very pretty and authentic! The staff is excellent, especially the guy managing the place, he is so nice and 24h available to help tourits.

everything: the staff availability made us feel like we were at home in this peaceful small riad. Very beautiful rooms and amazing position, central but not in the middle of the chaos. breakfasts were home-made by local women, with typical moroccan pastry.

there s a mosque not far from the riad, so the morning singing of the muezzin woke us up a couple of times

New home in Moroco

An exceptional stay. I needed to book a stay last second in the medina, and quite frankly I got more then just a 'stay', I got a home for the 2 days I was there. The place was super authentic, quiet and most importantly very central. To top this all off the customer service was incredible,especially Amzer, , weather it was picking and dropping us off when we got lost, booking us trips for good prices and just good company.

Pool pictures were deceiving.

The Riad was absolutely incredible. Exceptionally clean and the most beautiful terrace for breakfast in the morning (highly recommend). Hamza was the most professional and kind host and became like a friend for my friend and I. He absolutely made our stay in Marrakech exceptional. 11/10… we will definitely be back and recommending this Riad to everyone. Thank you again to all the staff.

Exceptional place. If you are looking for a special place, this is it. Perfect place for couples, and special events/occasions - weddings, corporate events, etc. Beautiful guest house - big rooms, beautifully decorated. Great location (old town), friendly staff.
