About this cottage rental
-THE ARTIST COTTAGE ENTIRE ENCHANTING ARTIST BEACH COTTAGE, 100 FT. TO THE SEA, FENCED & PRIVATE We fell in love with this enchanting cottage because of its vintage quality and location, 100 ft. to the sea.. It is a sweet old cottage that we have totally renovated. (Hey!!! We’ve added a duckless air system!!! No more window units!!! Nice and cold and quiet!!!) You walk out the door and within steps you are at the sea. Old St. Augustine is about 10 minutes away. Great nightlife and lots of fun shopping, dining and historical sightseeing! This is an old fashioned 1930's beach cottage with lots of privacy and it is totally fenced in. We've hired a talented gardener/ designer who uses Florida native beach flowers and grasses to create a casual shore setting. Come and relax at our 1930’s totally renovated cottage by the sea. We've decorated it with charming vintage finds. Including chandeliers that light up the patio area at night creating a magical setting for romance and family fun. We love sitting on the deck at night feeling the breezes off the ocean. Immerse yourself in the world of Old Florida, the way it used to be. Grab your coffee and watch the miracle of a sunrise as the dolphins play and the pelicans fly overhead. Sometimes you will see a couple of the locals fishing and it's fun to check if they "got lucky" yet. It's so peaceful walking along our quiet beach to the inlet where you can see the old St Augustine lighthouse on the other shore and other historical sites. Many activities are available at the beach...parasailing, fishing, kayaking, boating. Why not sail on the pirate ship “Black Raven' If you sail on Wednesday it docks at Aunt Kate’s restaurant for a delicious seafood dinner. We also love walking to our local restaurants for lunch or dinner. You can walk to our beautiful pier which you can fish from too. Feel like visiting the 16th century? A short ride over the bridge and you are in ancient St. Augustine. The oldest settlement and fort in the USA. Explore the historical sites and enjoy the family owned restaurants. Take a tour. Either a trolley or a romantic horse and carriage ride. Many art galleries and events. We have brochures at the cottage. Fall asleep to the sound of the surf and the swaying palm trees in our hammock on the deck. Yes you can see the ocean from our deck. We are located between the Intercoastal and the sea! Enjoy! We enjoyed our stay at the Artist Cottage very much. Such a unique place on a location on a quiet street within walking distance of the ocean Yet it was not far from the sights of St Augustine. We have booked for next year

Great location. Right beside Publix and beach! What could be better? We have stayed at several places in Vilano Beach. This was our favorite. We have a small dog who enjoyed the large fenced in patio. When we come back we will definitely stay here.

From the very beginning the hosts Carolyn @ Jim were so kind and understanding. Carolyn was so easy to communicate with as she always got back to me with answers almost immediately. The cottage was clean and well stocked we felt very much at home there. We had a great vacation/honeymoon! We are so grateful that they allowed us to stay there. The perfect hosts!!!

This Cottage is awesome it's not big but I tell you it's comfortable it's cozy and it's got more lights than any other place I've stayed at it's got very good friendly atmosphere. Close to the beach and close to Publix what else can you ask for. We enjoy this day and it was very comfortable.

Cute cottage near downtown Vilano. Carolyn was so accommodating. My family loved that it was a quick walk to the beach. Great spot for skim boarding and surfing. A quick car ride to historic St. Augustine area.

The artist cottage is a cute little cottage within walking distance to the beach. It was the perfect size for our family of four which includes two girls 6 and 4. The owners are very responsive and the amenities that were listed are accurate. We did experience issues with the WiFi which the owners shared was part of an outage they had experienced. The location was perfect, close to beach and to Publix. The outdoor shower definitely came in handy for the kids! They also loved playing in the little reading nook. My only suggestion (which is a total personal preference) is bring your own pillows! The fluff had gone out of the ones in the master bedroom. Overall we had a great stay and enjoyed the cottage.

We’ve been staying at this sweet beach cottage for 8 years now and it has us coming back year after year! We absolutely love it here and feel completely at home. The owner Carolyn is always super helpful and very responsive. You will not regret staying here!

We have stayed every year at the cottage for several years and love the location and convenience. The owner has installed new A/C that is quite and cool. The cottage is a short walk from the beach and convenient to Publix and a pizza restaurant.

We absolutely loved our stay! The rooms were comfortable, water pressure in the shower was great, and the outside area is perfect for hanging out! The owners were extremely helpful and easy to contact when needed. The cottage was lovely and close to everything. We’ll definitely stay again if we can!

Couldn’t ask for much more. It’s a beautiful old cottage that is right next to the beach. We stayed here with our 4 & 5 year old and they loved the inside and out.

We really loved our stay here and will definitely be back if we come to this area again. The indoor and outdoor spaces were so nice for just relaxing, reading or whatever one enjoys. It is convenient to a grocery store and several nice restaurants too! The vibe is homey and casual and it is very private.

We were pleasantly surprised by how spacious the property was, inside ou out. Fenced with lots of room to play, and a roof top with a water view and a hammock.
The cottage had everything from spices to candles.

Quaint and adorable. Wish we had more time to enjoy the area.
Only had a few things we would change…. The bed was really squeaky, the remote for the AC unit also operated the TV in the bedroom. There was some mold starting on the upper wall of the bathroom. Overall, we would stay again!

We really enjoyed our time at this homey cottage that is just steps from a really lovely beach and a several minute walk from a supermarket. The kitchen had everything you could need and the host thoughtfully provided bath towels as well as beach gear like chairs and umbrella. There were several outdoor spaces (rooftop deck, garden patio) to choose from to eat outside and enjoy the lovely April weather. My ten year old spent hours in the reading nook with her book. We would definitely love to stay here again!

The cottage was fantastic, and we greatly enjoyed our stay. The owner was friendly, quick, and gracious.
Our only concern was the number of overloaded outlets and the sizzling and popping lamp. And that all the lights flickered heavily when the fridge would run.

This get-a-way was perfect timing for us. My husband’s step-dad died the morning we were to leave for this trip. We had been on “hospice” watch for weeks and we had decided we would not be going. However, it was decided by our family to delay my FIL’s service and give us all a minute to regroup. This place was the perfect place to rest, relax, reflect, and rejoice. We came home ready for the next steps. My MIL was well cared for and also rested. Life comes at ya hard; so thankful for times to get-away and recharge. This cottage was perfect.

This cozy cottage was perfect for our little family and was so close and convenient to the beach which made beach days so easy with our 2 year old daughter. The weather wasn’t ideal the first 2 days but we made a trip to the beach every day for a quick walk at the least. It was just what we needed! Carolyn was very quick with her responses and made the whole stay stress free which we appreciated very much! We will definitely be back in the future!

Shabby chic cottage very close to beach. I wish we had better weather to enjoy it. Though cottage is small it is fully stocked and perfect for the two of us Description is accurate but be aware NO network TV or cable stations though plenty of movies on Netflix and Prime

This cute and eclectic cottage was just right for my family of 4. Steps from the beach and a short drive to St George Street. Kitchen is fully stocked with all that you need to prepare your meals. Beach chairs and umbrella provided as well. We enjoyed our stay.

This was our tenth visit to the Cottage since 2011. The location couldn't be more perfect: away from the hustle and bustle of the city, yet only a short walk to the grocery store. And a two-minute walk to the beach.
Vilano Beach itself is a nice laid-back little community which so far doesn't seem to have been adversely impacted by the new hotels that have cropped up. The beach itself is perfect for walking and viewing both sunrise (over the ocean) and sunset (over St. Augustine in the distance).
Our favorite activities are: hiking at the GTMNERR, bird watching at Fort Mose, the Farmers Markets and the park on Anastasia Island. Favorite eateries are: Manatee Cafe, Farmhand KCHN, and Creative Juices Cafe. Favorite coffee shops are Crucial Coffee Cafe and Cuban Coffee. And best of all, they're all easily reachable by bike, so there's no need to worry about finding a parking place.
The cottage itself is very homey and comfortable, with a well-stocked kitchen.
We hope to be back for many years to come. Highly recommended!

While our stay was short, we had a great time. A quiet neighborhood. Plenty of outdoor seating area to enjoy the ocean breeze. The beach is a short walk away (you can hear the waves crashing from the bungalow). A Publix is walking distance to stock up as needed. Downtown St. Augustine was a short Uber drive over (10-15 min). There’s a lot of love placed in the cottage, that makes you feel like you’re staying at a friends place for the weekend (like the fact that there were fresh cut mums on the kitchen table). Overall I would recommend and stay here again.

My husband and our furr baby loved our stay.This was perfectly secluded, private, quiet spot with just a few steps to the ocean.This location was just a short drive to Saint Augustine and the beautiful A1A beautiful scenic highway.I enjoyed the hammock at night looking at the beautiful stars.We purchased some wonderful fresh seafood at this great hidden gem named A1A Fisheries In the Hammick 5959 N.Oceanshore Bvd. Palm Coast FL 32137 which by the way it was a beautiful drive to there and cooked it in our well stocked well equipped kitchen. I spent a lot of time on the day bed looking at my phone.We really felt at home there and really needed that quiet beautiful retreat to recharge.The next time we come to Saint Augustine we will definitely book this place again and suggest to friends and family.It was absolutely the best birthday ever.Thank you again for having us.

It was cozy. Only issue is the bedroom a/c not good. Stuff was coming out of the unit onto bed. Also very noisy. Had to sleep in the living room.
