About this house rental
Nestled in Talkeetna, this attractive house for £282 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Nestled in the trees of a fully wooded neighborhood, this spacious home is only 3 miles from town and less than a mile from the community path leading to majestic views of Mt. Denali! This warm, remote home is conveniently accessible to all Talkeetna has to offer. Perfect for large families with beds for 12 people. Cozy up to the fireplace after a full day sightseeing, take in the surrounding nature on the wrap-around covered porch, or cook dinner together with family and friends. PLEASE NOTE: HOUSE HAS STAIRS ENTERING THE HOUSE AND GOING FROM THE FIRST FLOOR TO THE SECOND FLOOR. THIS IS A NON-SMOKING HOUSE. PLEASE ONLY SMOKE OUTSIDE AND DISPOSE OF ANY CIGARETTE BUTTS. The 1.5-acre lot is surrounded by trees and lawn. The open downstairs has wood floors with a bar top separating the dining area from the living room. Go out to eat at one of the town's great restaurants or stay in and cook with the fully stocked kitchen. Amenities include drip coffee maker, toaster, toaster oven, waffle maker, gas stove and oven, microwave, refrigerator, double basin sink. The dining area has a large extendable table for large group seating. There is also a small work station/breakfast bar just outside the kitchen. The half bath is conveniently located downstairs. In the living room there is a 43” flat screen smart TV with surround sound, Blu Ray player with numerous movies. Relax in the recliner, sleeper chair or couch in the adjacent living room and enjoy a warming fire in the fireplace with wood provided. The couch folds out into a queen bed for additional sleeping space. For those working away from home, there is a large working desk upon entry and high-speed unlimited internet available. Upstairs are the 3 bedrooms with carpet throughout. The master bedroom has a queen bed with memory foam cover and its own separate bathroom with sliding glass door on this shower/tub. Brand new 2 person infrared sauna to relax in. The second bedroom has a twin-over-full bunk bed and includes a twin trundle for extra sleeping area. The third bedroom has a full-size bed with twin trundle underneath and another twin bed. All bedrooms have closets and two of the rooms have large dressers for storage. The separate upstairs bathroom includes a curtained tub and shower. The room also houses a washer and dryer for guest use with laundry soap provided. The covered wrap around deck has a large table with chairs if you want to sit outside and relax while staying out of the rain or summer heat. The house is fully stocked with towels and linens, along with the fun stuff like cards, board games, books, and puzzles. The entire house is yours to enjoy. The separate garage and storage shed are not permissible for guest use. Plenty of private parking is available. We keep one closet locked inside the house for our housekeeping needs. As we are owner operators, we are available as much as possible and will respond to texts or phone calls within a few minutes. While staying with us, we give you space to enjoy the area. However, we are only a text away. • Please respect the area and the neighborhood. • There is a wood stove and is yours to use if you have experience with them. Otherwise the monitor heater is the primary heat source. We supply a small amount of wood for ambiance. Please bring extra which can be purchased at many of the grocery stores and gas stations on the way to the Green House. • Outdoor firepit use is only permissible when fire danger is low, unless a burn permit is filed. Guests are to bring their own wood for use in the firepit, reserving the wood provided for indoor use only. • This is a non-smoking house. If you wish to smoke, please take it outside on the covered deck or beyond. • There is no dishwasher installed at this time. You will have to hand-wash any dishes you use.

For a weekend getaway with family that is scattered all over the state of Alaska, this was a great location in an adorable town. We had a great time. We had a party of 9 show up and two that couldn’t make it. It was a bit of a tight squeeze in terms of seating for this large group. This house would probably be more comfortable for a group of 8 or less people. Overall, it was great!

I am a major review reader before making decision so I hope this helps others. This place was amazing! Very comfortable and felt like home. It felt private in the woods even though you had neighbors. It was a convenient location. We really fell in love with this town. We stayed at several places in our visit to Alaska but this is one we said we would return to. Not only the town but this house. I highly recommend!!

This home was a perfect place for my family in Talkeetna! About 3 miles away from downtown but it felt like it was in its own world - couldn’t hear many cars and surrounded by beautiful woods. We saw two moose grazing 30 feet away and got to watch from the beautiful wraparound porch.

We really enjoyed the location and style of this home. The property managers were kind and quick to help with any questions we had. Well stocked kitchen and very comfortable bedrooms. A must stay!

Our group of 6 spent 2 nights here on our 7 day getaway! House was wonderful and the best built of the 4 VRBOs we experienced! Everything you need was there! Took a flight through the glaciers and drove up to Denali. Only downside was that “state birds” were thick so we didn’t get to enjoy the yard as much as we would have liked!

House fit our needs. 7 adults-2 couples and 3 adult children. Tall family had difficulty with footboards on beds. Upstairs needs a second queen bed option. Blinds let in a lot of light. Could use room darkening curtains. A USB plug would be helpful for adults to use phones for alarm clocks. It was difficult with wifi and obtaining code early. Asked for code 4 days early to be prepared and was denied by owners until after lunch same day. Obtained code at 4pm with check in at 5 pm. There is limited wifi after leaving airport...despite coverage map given to me by owner instead of code early.

The home worked very well for our family group of five 70+ year olds. We were very comfortable. The location was very convenient to the center of Talkeetna.
There was a slight issue with keypad access, but Kelly was able to give us instructions for a work around.
If we were to be in the area again, we would certainly consider staying here again.

Stayed 4 nights at this wonderful house and couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Everything our party of 6 needed for comfortable lodging was provided. It’s a very clean and cozy space nestled in a heavily wooded lot a couple minutes from town. The owners provided expedient responses and useful advice when contacted with questions about the area and property. Waking up in the am on checkout day to a resting momma and baby moose in the yard was an amazing bonus sight. Kitchen had everything needed for homestyle cooking and all appliances/utilities in the house worked perfectly. The many nice photos in the VRBO listing don’t do full justice to how beautiful the property is in person. A great home base for Denali sightseeing and Alaska fishing adventures. Rob and Kelly have set a standard by which all our future VRBO rentals will judged. Thank you and we hope to visit again.

Great Stay
We had a great time at this beautiful house in the woods. We had two families of 4 and had plenty of space. The location is great - close to town but just far enough away to enjoy the wilderness. The house was super clean and came stocked with all the amenities one could need. We definately will be back.

Lovely, spacious and convenient
Nestled in a wooded lot, conveniently located to Talkeetna. Comfortable and roomy interior. We had 6 people, so appreciated the 2 1/2 baths. At certain times of the day, the mosquitoes outside could probably carry you away, but there were times when they weren't bad. It's a little less than than 2 1/2 hours to Denali National Park from here and a very easy drive.

Beautiful house close to Talkeetna
My family of 5 with kids ages 10, 11, and 12 along with my 70 year old inlaws enjoyed this house very much. Plenty of room, nice kitchen. Talkeetna is a cool interesting little town, we did the jetboat to devils canyon, took a plane to a glacier landing. Ate dinner at mile high pizza pie and Denali brewing company. Great times!!

We highly recommend this home as a base camp for all your Talkeetna adventures!
